haha. When I was buying a can of bear spray in Canmore, the lady in line behind me said, "Hmm... I didn't know they made them that small." It got my attention, but the closest I got to a bear or mountain lion was tracks and fresh, steaming blueberry poo the size of a hubcap. I think they prefer to avoid scary humans.
I've taken to screen capping some of the beautiful scenery you traverse. It's inspired me to start drawing again. I always thought that the shapes and formations and colour contrasts you see in some Canadian landscape art were interpretive but they aren't. These rocks and mountains and trees really look like that, all bold jagged lines and blocks of colour, it almost looks like a painting but it's real. It's incredible. Not a wonder why you'd rather be out there than in the confines of a factory, Foresty.
Foresty, you’re doing great. On my mountain trips over the past 50 years I’ve not made the summit between 60-70% of the time. One of the great things about going alone is that you can change your mind whenever you want. I feel safer going solo. Keep up the good work !!
You're definitely making your guardian angels working overtime FF & your viewers at the edge of their seats but its all worthwhile with those awesome drone footage seeing FF Pizza & beers commercial in the wilderness & Natural Ice Cold water from melting ice caps in a 15minutes video. I’ve watched two videos today. One was Jacques Pepin, master chef, making pizza at home. The other had Foresty Forest, master vanlifer, making pizza over a fire. Pepin was good, FF was better!
I can’t get over what you’re climbing on..I was afraid for you at one point. There so much broken rock which makes it scarier! The air quality changed so quickly. I like your “MacGyver” pizza oven! Those found grills have made a few tasty meals. Take care 🇨🇦
I feel like this was the toughest climb ever. Has nothing to do with 'hiking', at least when you're up to the final 1-2 hours of the climb. Please make sure you pay really close attention to when a hike turns into a serious climb. Cause thats a whole different story safety-wise. One lose rock could mean a dislocated shoulder or a broken leg - which is going to be seriously life threatening out there solo. I admire your passion and bravery, but this video was partially way over 'challenging', rather beyond 'too risky' already at times... Man, stay safe, stay healthy 👍🍀
Wow, this one looked extremely steep, almost vertical at points, even on camera! And the lose rock! Glad you got down there safely! I think maybe you risked too much, at least in my book: you always need to be sure to get down safely, worst case the same way as you got up. This stuff is way out of my comfort zone, esp. when hiking alone. Much respect, and stay safe out there!
I just hiked Jumbo Pass and Lake of the Hanging Glacier last week, and man seeing those mountains in person is something else! Makes watching you try to summit them even more crazy impressive 😂
Down in Berkeley and dealing with wildfire smoke and covid in a highly populated area and want to express my appreciation of your posts. I pressed "like" in the first 30 seconds. Thanks.
My wife and I were in the next valley to the East of you on Sept 12, just south of Jumbo Pass Trailhead. We were hiking the Moraine Trail that goes up to the Horsehoe Glacier. Very easy hike, very rewarding. Its essentially a giant ditch that the retreating glacier has left, a really cool geological feature. Glacier Creek FSR is very reasonable for 2wd vehicles .
I understand the concern for his safety, especially on that wall. But Foresty is experienced and smart about this stuff. I was very impressed when on his second attempt he turned around close to the top because he knew it was too late in the day. It showed extraordinary judgment to avoid "summit fever". I also was impressed with how he made the pizza!
Honestly this bloke is incredible, how he gets the footage and does all of this is beyond me. And he is so happy! Even his music selection is spot on. Man I such a skeptic but in these days of mask wearing to work etc in the UK he blows my mind

I admire your determination Foresty! When you don’t succeed the first time you never gave up, kept at it and tried new avenues! And for that you have a yummy looking cheesy pizza! Also good job reaching the summit of Jumbo Mountain.

Omg Your poor mother... but at least if she sees them . She know you made it down safe.
Non-stick tin foil next time(when you plonk it directly on top of the pizza). That stuff is amazing!
That Pizza crunch was AWESOME!!! Chef ForestyForest!!!
Sketchy McSketcherson! That descent had me clenching hard.
That was my favourite part. It is always more difficult to go down then up on the steep.
These videos are like therapeutic! Even playing in the background, I can feel the positivity oozing off them👍🏿
That wasn’t a “Hike”, that was proper mountain climbing without a rope!
Foresty you're such a Forest. I live in Calgary, I'm going to look for you and buy you a case of your favourite beer!
Happy day when FF pops up 😊
Foresty never disappoints.
I just hiked Jumbo Pass and Lake of the Hanging Glacier last week, and man seeing those mountains in person is something else!
Makes watching you try to summit them even more crazy impressive 😂
Is this what is called “mountaineering”?? I’m impressed with your effort and enthralled with the views, so awesome.
You are the absolute best van life youtuber i have come across. The combination of cooking, outdoor hikes and mountain climbing are incredible. If you are ever in the states it would be great to see you team up for a few videos with Chad from Living the Van Life.
I concur
The intro felt like it was made a $$$$$$$ production studio. That final climb was the scariest I've felt watching at Foresty Forest video.
This kid knocks me out. I smile, I laugh, and I tear up....
man, I wish I could hike just one trail with you!!!
Foresty laughs at the world from on top of it. We laugh at ourselves for sleeping at the bottom. Good, full journey for all of us. Thank you for taking us with you. Thank God for this little window I hold on my hands... open my eyes on where I can get to.
We really enjoyed this multi day vid! Packed full of life!! Thank you!
Love how you scramble up the impossible path, bush wracking, perseverance with a great attitude. “It’s gonna be one of those days...oh a huckleberry!” Hey more path down the mountain, that seems super scary to me. Love to you
My dog and I watch every episode and she actually watches 😂
I’m not even here for the hiking, I’m here for the cooking and the ranting
i think that bird was screaming something like "Where you going? Why you left your crockpot just like that?"
I can only dream about it!...lots of love from India!
That view of mountines drip in fog with that music- totally relaxing. You could do relaxation and meditation movies.
Caught me off guard; I didn't expect to see him making pizza. The pizza looked good, that's for sure.
"It's gonna be one of these days.....HUCKLEBERRY!"
If I didn’t have this channel, I couldn’t sleep at night. The sounds, narration etc., provide a form of catharsis and relief it seems I need these days to fall asleep most nights. The only problem is when I’m dozing off I’ll hear something like “channed kili” and can’t help from letting out a slow-mo half asleep chuckle. Thanks ff
when you first left your bike I thought how is he going to remember where he left it lol
Foresty you are an amazing human being!. In all of my 70 years of adventuring i have never seen anyone like you!. Godspeed amigo.
Thank you Rick!
Those views are unbelievable 👍stay safe and keep on keeping on 🥃
This huckleberry has God's blessing. Who would ever consider taking minivan to the Antarctic ocean? Your my hero man. Stay safe.
You're a brave man, braver than most.
What you're doing is beautiful, keep up the videos.
I admire your determination Foresty! When you don’t succeed the first time you never gave up, kept at it and tried new avenues! And for that you have a yummy looking cheesy pizza! Also good job reaching the summit of Jumbo Mountain.
You are the cream that rises to the top for summit climbs/ fat bike / van life. You never fail to amaze.
That footage of the climb up the rocks, was making me a little nervous for you
yknow when ur going thru youtube and find ur favorite channels uploaded and u get that feeling a happiness? that was me today
There is simply no way to give this genuine guy thumbs down. He is living it! Thanks for the effort for those sick perspectives Simon! Love you! I know the Alps like my jeans pocket. Always welcome me on my hikes!
Heart warms up when i see Mr foresty Forrest video 🇨🇦❤
Gosh that was a scary summit, the view was spectacular even with the smoke. Stay safe can't wait till the next video
The view is beyond beautiful and makes life calming and joyful. Stay safe.
Oh, and nice pizza oven hack!
This is one of those channels I give a thumbs up on every new vid before the ad at the beginning even ends.
that's a lot of patreon support and you deserve that. what an amazing job you have created. stay safe honey
WOW, I want to say happy chimbing to you and you did this on my (would be) father's birthday. He would be 102 years old.
BE SAFE-R OUT THERE.
I have done a bit of mountaineering and man this video made me nervous more than any of your others. But it's obvious you know when to turn around and say no so keep it up. I don't know anyone who would have tried three times. That says a lot about you.
On another note, I am tired of seeing you sitting on a rock and want to buy you a folding camping chair!
I have found a new Hero, Foresty gotta hand it to you, You Rock and climb them to boot!
Classic Foresty Forest. Love your new pizza oven ;)
Isn't Simon the best?? Hope to see more of your content soon too! Take care! 🙏 🇨🇦 Ontario
You need to make some "dough" with lots of pepperoni. ;P
@@Rubbinz24 He really is :)
Best outdoorsman in the game, no question. Hats off to you Foresty. Thanks for the amazing content!
Received notification of new video....dropped everything I was doing sat in front of screen!
That down climb was butt puckering, this man is so gnarly
Love the shots of the van going over the river. Theres Life in her yet!
You pick the best spots the camp out at, it's like a Foresty forest wonderland.
Always killer cinematography and music. Cheers!
Awesome young man my husband did photography in the day and says you are the best. We are in our 70ties and enjoy your hard work. Wow you are so good. Makes my stomach feel nervous watching you. GOD BLESS keep safe. My husband did mountaineering when he was young.
Black bear 15 feet away... we screamed... it went away.... NO BIG DEAL...😲😆
i grew up in an area with a lot of black bears. they are the biggest damned scaredy cats.
@@Lyrandar Me too, hiking in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. But only scream and wave your hands at black bears; never at brown bears or...God forbid!...grizzlies.
I would definitely take a gun and a backup if I were going out there!
Paul Arnott only need it for grizzlies and it’s pointless, Just pisses ‘em off.
@@philiphicks1273 A Glock 20 10mm would probably be the weapon of choice!
Super nice video. Nice to see you wear a Fjällräven jacket in the video, greetings from Sweden.
Always game for an update from this channel.
You are a brave man for doing this alone. Scares the crap out of me watching you.
