Cooking tip: give the onions a good ten minutes on heat, then add the beef. This mellows the onions and brings out a natural sweet savory flavor that stewing won’t.

He gets a full day without seeing one person while being outdoors; hell, I'd like to get 10 minutes. Beautiful and peaceful scenery. On another note, every time I see a van that resembles this one (which seems to be at least once a day), I think of Mr. Forest.

Loved the casserole, inspired to make something similar! On a more serious note, seeing recent avalanche activity is a sign of instability and a high risk of encountering another. I think you know that and yet you kept going.

Drone footage was great. As everyone says, stay safe. Your channel has enough thrills. We don't need to be enticed.

Love the singing of the Foresty jingle.... glad you chose caution, but love how you were thinking of others with posting the drone footage for data for other trekkers.
How are the new wheels/tires going? better on the trail?

I really like all the things your videos offer, Foresty - gorgeous video footage, hiking/cllimbing, recipes, show and book recommendations, your charming personality and humor, van builds and repairs, etc., etc. The list goes on and on. Plus great music selections. Todays was especially good. Stay safe.

Looks similar to "Spanish Pie" I make. Layered 12" tortilla wraps instead of the crushed chips. Tortilla, then layer of spice rice and beans with shred cheese, tortilla, layer of spiced ground beef and onion, tortilla, another rice/bean/cheese layer, tortilla, another grd beef/onion/cheese layer, tortilla, top with a pile of shred cheese. Usually bake in a spring form, but could do in a Ninja. Cut into pie wedges. Even better when cooled in the fridge completely and reheat a slice the next day. Flavours really come out. Top with lettuce, salsa and sour cream. Cold slices can be wrapped separate and frozen to be reheated anytime.

Man I am so excited for the possibilities of this lifestyle! I just started van life and I am looking forward to doing a lot of hiking and camping next summer. You said something about a panic button. Is that a piece of equipment you take with you? I would love a video with an explanation about your equipment on these crazy treks.
So glad you are able to be doing this fulltime now. You deserve the success!!

Amy, it is the orange walkie-talkie like device that Foresty panned by. It is a way to communicate through satellite connectivity for no cellular coverage areas. Many adventurers use them. This device, and many like them, have saved countless lives.

@@mgb0869 thanks for the explanation. Definitely something I should look into if I’m going to continue vanlife and doing a lot of boondocking in the middle of nowhere.
