@@TURTLZ18 I've listened to both Deftones and Fit for An Autopsy for years. I had to double check that it wasn't actually Chino singing on it this song though because of how stark the vocal resemblance is. Not a bad thing, but I think pointing out how similar the intro is to a Deftones song is more than fair.
I'm a 37 year old metal head that has listened to, and continues to listen to EVERYTHING metal, in almost all genres. And I have to say that this is one of the absolute best songs I've EVER heard
As a 31 year old metal head that also listens to everything, I couldn't agree more. This song is a standout on an already fantastic album. It's damn near perfect.
Death Atlas by Cattle Decap is another, Vanguard by August Burns Red, just a few rq to name off the top of my head.. not many songs can hit me super emotional metal wise as far as bringing tears but those one’s just completely stick out to me.. and Fit For An Autopsy are really doing the damn thing, not catering to anyone except just making the music they feel🔥
I know they're not quite as diverse, but tis pretty much the same story as Tomas Haake from Meshuggah. The amount of writing-range that guy has is absolutely mind-blowing, especially when you consider how far he's come since the early days. Started off as a guy who was frustrated at trying to adapt into their style, but he's ended up being one of the core members, if not *the* core-member. Don't get me wrong. Fredrik and Marten are on my list of favorite guitarists, and Dick Lovgren is my favorite bassist, but they'd be lost without Tomas.
I think it's an incredible compliment to say its gojira/deftones inspired, but FFAA owns this sound. Though it has shades of those others, its completely their own sound. Unmistaken. What a masterpiece.
My dad showed me this song when it first came and we both love it! We both have been jamming out to this album and this is my favorite song from FFAA so far.
As someone who counts Deftones and Gojira as my two favorite bands, and "Where Owls Know My Name" as one of the greatest albums ever released, "Oh What the Future Holds," especially "Two Towers," is like tailor made to be literally the perfect music for my tastes. Fit For An Autopsy has quickly joined the ranks among my favorites with this album.
Haven’t related to a song with this much depth in a while. Intro makes me think of deftones and as others have said I heard Gojira in this as well. I love that it’s melodic and heavy. Joes vocals never disappoint.
I listened to this album a couple years ago but never got super into it, I just gave it another go and these guys along with Sylosis, Orbit Culture, and Bleed From Within, are over 90% of my listening this year. The Sea of Tragic Beasts and Oh What the future holds are perfection. Along with Descent, Nija, and Shaman from OC.
"locked inside two towers" How i felt since that tragic day on sept 11th, or how i perceive the message. Nothing has been the same since we lost all the souls and towers
I cannot express how emphatically I enjoyed listening to Oh What The Future Holds. It is energizing yet sobering at the same time. It reveals the current state of the world and where we all know it’s going. The only darkness I feel coming off of this album is the facts about our demoralized and degenerating world.
Fit for our humanitarian crisis! And that's why those guys are contemporary. This is the translation of what humanity has been through lately in terms of art. The more I stick to reality, the more I understand Fit For An Autopsy!
This is PERFECT! An absolute 10/10!!! Shadow of Intent has the perfect touring/support partner in Fit for an Autopsy! Melodic Deathcore done flawlessly with emotional heart string tugging at its finest! THE VOCALS ARE PERFECT! Those tonal growls 💙
Wasn’t expecting much because I don’t usually hear much good material from the last release before the album drops. This is the best song they’ve released to date.
I think what sets this band apart in the genre is that their riffs are actually creative and catchy. Alot of bands in this genre just try to show off their speed and talent without actually producing original sounding music that you want to keep coming back to you. Now, that being said, FFAA is by no means producing music that is only catchy to be catchy, or "selling out" as they say or trying to become "mainstream", they are simply producing original heavy music that is catchy and compelling.

Quite possibly their most beautiful song to date.
Its so heavy but that chorus melody is so gorgeous it makes the song really stand out!
