I just started sewing. And I found your channel, and I gotta say. You're a breath of fresh air. Everyone on social media shows a "how to" in like 15 seconds and that doesn't work with no experience. You explain things amazing and slow so I can follow all the steps and make amazing stuff. Thank you 😙
That's awesome - I am glad you like my style. Please do check out my other videos 🙏 Thanks for watching my video and taking the time to leave a comment - I really appreciate it! 😊
So exciting Sara - you are going to have a lot of fun making these! Thanks for watching my video and taking the time to leave a comment, I appreciate your support ☺️
Yes, the smell is something that reminds me of a horse after a race....once upon a time I was a Standardbred racehorse groom. Every time I use the mat I take a trip down memory lane usually in a flash. My horses were Airborne Mary, Trebol Pam, and Irish Champ...that was a lone time ago...
Thanks for sharing your memory with me Bethanne, my mom worked with racehorses too when she was young, she always loved horses and had a miniature pony, the kids called her Nana Horsey 😊
I loved your tutorial. Very well explained instructions. Great idea with the modge podge. Looking forward to making some very soon. Thanks so much for sharing.
Hello everyone. 😃 I love this make and I love that you're OCD too. 😆 I'm so OCD it's ridiculous... But every now and then it comes in handy. I'll order the hardware you suggested and get started on future gifts. This will make a great stash buster too. Thank you for sharing this make with us, Stacey. 🌺
This video is wonderful! I did find that I lost some width when I folded my fabric towards the middle, so I had to not fold as far in. Next time I may cut them 2 and 1/4 inches in width and see if that helps.
Thanks Stacy for another great video. My wool mat had a odour too, I took a bounce sheet and rubbed my mat then put in dryer on NO HEAT SETTING for 5 mins and the smell is gone.
I’m so glad the instructions were easy to follow! 😊 Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment-I really appreciate it! ❤️ If you haven’t already, please subscribe-I’m on my way to 100k! 🌟
Hi Stacey! Nicely done! BTW: I don't mind the smell of the wool mat, as long as it does not impart the smell to my fabric which is does not. I know people who iron a dryer sheet over it every once in a while. That method also cleans the bottom of the iron. Two tasks done at one time!
Hi Stacey..... just found you today - 11/18/24.....though, I've made many many key fobs, in fact, I made one last night. I like the way you did it. Also, I must admit, sometimes I don't get the measurements correct for some reason 🤦🏾♀️. Thank you again and look forward to doing mine over 😊
Hi Lynette! 😊 I’m so glad you found me! No worries about the measurements-it happens to all of us sometimes! I’m sure your next key fob will turn out perfect. ❤️ Thank you for watching, and I’m excited for you to try it again! ✂️
Hello....I really enjoyed this video. I love to sew but I'm definitely not a strong sewer but your instructions are sooo easy and I'll be making some of these! Thank you so much.
Awesome! You might like to check out some of my other videos, which are all aimed at beginner sewists. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment - I really appreciate it ❤
Yay! I’m so glad you made one and love it! 😊 That’s awesome to hear! Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, I really appreciate it! ❤
You’ll be happy to know that mine doesn’t smell like anything anymore. I have two. Bought at the same time several years ago. Aired them outside during the day for several days when I got them… it faded significantly… and I just stitched a loop on one end and hung them when not in use to get as much airing as possible… that only lasted until we moved… but by then we were scent free. Hope this helps give other the confidence to purchase if they want it.
Great tutorial, thank you Stacey. Like the tip using the Mod Podge on the edge & the left compensating foot. I have the the right & left compensating feet for my TL18 & need to try them.
Thank you so much for this fab tutorial, I just completed my first 2 wristlets following step by step and they turned out brilliantly, so happy. Just subscribed. Merry Christmas x
Great tutorial! I appreciate how you show all the steps in detail. I had a question: why not sew all the way around the rectangle? I assume it may not be necessary given the hardware - is that the reason?
Stacey, I made some key fobs for our church craft fair didn’t sell as many as I would have like to do you have any suggestions that would be helpful? I wanted to add something to it
It would be far easier to leave it 4" wide and just crease it in half, then bring the outsides to the center line. Still 1" wide when done without having to fight with the little 1/2" edges.
Thank you, Rosa! 😊 No, I wouldn't use HeatnBond , because it is an adhesive product that fuses fabric layers together, while interfacing is typically used to add structure or stiffness to fabric. ❤️✂️
Hi there! Great tutorial. Can you tell me the exact iron interfacing that you used please? I'm seeing so many different kinds out there and I don't want to buy the wrong one. Thank you!!!
Hi Stacey! Thank you for such a great tutorial! I made two and noticed some bubbling happening after I folded it to attach the keychain. Is this normal? Thank you!

What kind of interfacing and fabric did you use for this?
Great tutorial! I appreciate how you show all the steps in detail. I had a question: why not sew all the way around the rectangle? I assume it may not be necessary given the hardware - is that the reason?
Yes, it’s not necessary, but you can if you want too.
Very neat
Thank you! Cheers! 🤗
Love it!
Thanks so much Michelle! I appreciate you watching my video 🤗
Stacey,

You can make it however you like. I showed my preferred way 🤗
can you do this without interfacing? im a complete beginner and want to try some smaller projects before i buy more supplies
Love the videos. Can Heat Bond be used for this what’s the difference interfacing and heat bond?
Thank you, Rosa! 😊 No, I wouldn't use HeatnBond , because it is an adhesive product that fuses fabric layers together, while interfacing is typically used to add structure or stiffness to fabric. ❤️✂️
The mustard yellow fabric is beautiful....it all is. Where can I find that fabric?
Hi there, I am sorry I am not sure what it is called, but I can tell you it is a Ruby Star Society fabric, which might help you track it down 😊
What is the white paper are you using!
Excellent tutorial, thank you!
Thanks so much Terry! I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment 😄
Hi there! Great tutorial. Can you tell me the exact iron interfacing that you used please? I'm seeing so many different kinds out there and I don't want to buy the wrong one. Thank you!!!
Hi, I used SF101 Shape-Flex it’s great and goes on sale a lot at the big box stores
Have you ever used a 1" Bias tape maker to make things go a little quicker? I love this tutorial but I also tend to be impatient. Im working on it lol
Hi, no sorry I haven't, but once you get stared this method doesn't take long at all 😊
Is wonder under a good product to use for this project?
Hi, I haven't heard of that one before, but I am sure it would be fine 😊
Please tell me where you got your iron❤
Hi you can get it here: glnk.io/mzmmj/staceyleecreative
Hi Stacey! Thank you for such a great tutorial! I made two and noticed some bubbling happening after I folded it to attach the keychain. Is this normal? Thank you!
Hi, I am not sure why thaat is happening. Perhaps the interfacing is pressed and attached properly? Or try pressing when you have finished.
Wool ironing mats will smell when you use steam because the mat gets damp.
That makes sense 😀
What tension did you use? I’m very new to sewing and the tension seems to be my biggest challenge so far.
That depends solely on the sewing machine you are using. You should get some scrap fabric and sew on it until you are happy it is stitching correctly.
Can you use the hardware for a lanyard too?
Yes absolutely! 😊
Where did you get the pliers please?
Hi. They were part of my kit I got from Amazon. I put the link in the description and comments 🤗
Can u iron on the interface on a large piece of fabric then cut out them both out together??. I have a wooden template of the size I am making
Sorry just getting to your comment now. Yes you could do that 😊
Where did you get that ruler?
Hi, just from Amazon 😊
What brand iron is that
Hi, it's Oliso: amzn.to/3y6yV7S
What’s the white material called??
It's single sided fusible interfacing. I used Pellon SF101.
I kept thinking why doesn’t she just fold the fabric? .. hmm… She must be OCD about the sides, matching exactly or something 😂.. lol sure enough
lol 😂 You guessed it 🤗
Super quick and easy Key Fob Wristlet - perfect gift idea to sew!
