This is the best tutorial yet
Thank you for the lesson on how to do this. I can't wait to make some for my nieces and give them as Christmas gifts!!
Love the music and your tutorial. Made 4 of them.
watched many versions of making these, and I like yours ! very clean and neat looking, thank you
I agree, I just made my very first lip balm holder and it turned out great! I had to make adjustments because the lip balm I am gifting is 17g, and most lip balms are 4.5g. Your directions are super easy to follow!
I made this today following your video. I love it! Thank you!
Wonderful!
This looks like such a fun project! So glad I found your channel. Excited to make one (or twelve) of these!!
That's great! Happy Sewing!😊
Thank you. How beautiful
So cute. Thank you for sharing this video.
Best tutorial yet and I’ve watched several. 😊thankyou🎉
Such a great tutorial! Very thoroughly explained each step! thank you!!
Love this! Great video 👍👍
Great video. I’m going to make some!!!
very nice and simple 😊 thanks
Buenas porfavor me podrías facilitar las medidas no las veo muy bien excelente trabajo y tutorial enhorabuena felicidades muchísimas gracias un saludo feliz día
Love it!!
this worked really well! I have only ever sewn a rectangle on the machine before this and with help from my mom, I made it mostly perfect! I have and art show coming up, thinking about selling these🫶
I've gone thru 5 chapstick designs and this is by far the best! and easiest to remember! thank you :)
I love it. I csn use the same way for hand sanitizer right? Tk you
Good one!
I think they need a flap on top so that it will close shut and then the chapstick won’t fall out, I am loving your pattern best of all I have seen thoughg
If the sides are sewn up snug enough, the lip balm won’t fall out.
Loved it. Im.making these today beginner at sewing. (Wish me luck 🤞🤞)
You'll do just fine! Remember to watch your seam allowance while sewing to make sure the chapstick holder turns out the right size. Also, if you have an erasable pen or something similar, you could mark the seam allowance on the fabric before sewing it. Happy sewing! 🧵🪡
@@SewingTimeWithSarah great advice thank you. Can a brother machine do it. I have a mini one but I just got a Brother sewing machine
You turn it right side out, not inside out 😊
thank you
Welcome! Thank you for watching!
What is white fabric?
The D-ring you listed from Amazon is 3/4 in. With a 1/4” seam, shouldn’t it be a 1 1/2” D ring?
I love it❤how much did you sell lanyard with lip balm holder
Good, easy to follow instructions. However, when doing the first seam I had to HAND SEW the top because my sewing machine foot wouldn't go over the key ring.
cool video. but the music...
I made my first one and it did not look good. The stitching is all crooked and my machine foot wouldn't go over the thick parts and corners. Any advice?
Hello, do you place fusible interfacing to just one of the 2” x 7” strips or to both? Thanks for sharing this great little project.
Hello, yes, I fused the interfacing to one of the fabric strips only. Thanks for watching! Happy sewing!
Putting the measurements in tiny white font on the light background makes it impossible to read. Why not put measurements in the information section?
IS ANY FABRIC OKAY TO USE FOR THIS PROJECT SUCH AS T-SHIRT MATERIAL ?
It would be better to use a woven fabric, such as quilting cotton, muslin, linen.
Beginner sewer here, is the lightweight fusible interfacing necessary, I'm not sure if it's purpose?
Hi, the main purpose of the lightweight fusible interfacing is to give some stabilization to the fabric.
You could try to do this project without it but the fabric wouldn't be as stiff.
In case of not having the lightweight fusible interfacing you could try cutting four pieces of fabric instead of two, also you could use one layer of a heavier weight fabric or felt and use it instead of the interfacing. Hope you find this info helpful. Let me know if you need to know anything else.
Mine came out tiny 🤣 like an inch wide.. I'm guessing I used too much seam allowance maybe.
Oh no! Next time it will be better, just keep trying :) If you use a wider seam allowance make sure to cut the fabric wider. Thank you for watching!
I used a 1/4' seam allowance and it worked great.
So sorry, I see what size I’d needed.
Do you backstitch at all?
I back stitch over the loop and at the beginning and end of stitching.
Yes, always at the beginning and at the end of the stich. Thanks for watching!
What kind/# of interfacing did you use?
I used fusible midweight interfacing
