    Everyone's got to start somewhere, guys. It's easy to rip on this guy for not knowing something which you've all had the opportunity to learn, but all of you had humble beginnings..

      To be honest, i'd call myself a decent player but since I have never played Ryu, this was actually kind of helpful for the few times that I'll get Ryu when I pick random (at least the first part of the video). I always tend to go back to neutral with Ryu instead of going for pressure with the sweep.
      I agree though, everybody that is making fun of this guy should just think about the times when they started playing the game.

    Im sure this isnt the only things he learned lol this part of his session was posted on the channel for less experienced players. This is a perfect video for someone who wants to improve their ryu for free.

      its a one frame link AND its only possible on standing opponents. you gotta be super close to them for it to work

      I've been able to do it on crouching enemies in training mode and i've lost to someone who did it on me in an online match, I don't think the opponent has to be standing

  • @Robertkopp84

    Can somebody confirm that its possible to link a Jab after cr.HP!? Im not a Ryu player and im confused that he crouches automatically after the uppercut for nearly half a second. Could be again one of the PC glitches.

    • @Dreamysleepyclouds
      @Dreamysleepyclouds 10 лет назад

      You can't. I'm not sure what you mean by crouching after an uppercut

    • @Robertkopp84
      @Robertkopp84 10 лет назад

      If i let go the stick, he's still getting back to crouch afterwards.
      I have not seen that on any other character i used.
      Also i got hard times to get Evil Ryu to link cr.MK like all other shotos can and im pretty shure i've seen that multiple times in Ulta on stream.

    • @Dreamysleepyclouds
      @Dreamysleepyclouds 10 лет назад

      Herr Bert
      Idk, probably a glitch. Uppercut has a lot of recovery frames, you shouldn't be able to block for that half second you're crouching.

    • @Robertkopp84
      @Robertkopp84 10 лет назад

      Dreamysleepyclouds Ok just a bit confusing, Evil and Akuma are just standing longer and this looks like the animation is canceled into crouch. Hes not getting back smoothly.

    • @soggytoast111
      @soggytoast111 10 лет назад

      That's part of his recovery animation. It just looks like he's crouching there but he's still recovering from the uppercut and can't do anything. A similar thing happens with Guile's Flash Kick. I think Capcom just ran out of animation to use for such a long recovery so they just used the regular crouching animation instead.

    If he's so desperate to get the Tatsu for the wall carry he can just not do the F HP and just go straight to cr.HP xx H Tatsu

    • @Mukz725
      @Mukz725 10 лет назад +1

      Dude can't do c.lp into c.mk, he'll have a lot of trouble trying to combo f.hp and c.hp

    • @Mercsin
      @Mercsin 10 лет назад +1

      Hence, my suggestion

    • @ParabolaTool
      @ParabolaTool 10 лет назад

      Or just punish with cr. hp into hard tatsu. Obviously not optimal damage but gets the carry in. Could also do cl. rh into cr jab/short/forward into tatsu which I think is easier. I have a tough time with fw fierce into cr fierce, personally.

    I know people say it's their money, maybe they want to learn from a pro etc. There is no denying that what he paid for here and probably the other hour or so of info he got is readily available online. It really is a waste of money there are higher quality and better explained resources online and countless hours of people teaching you the game from the basics to the pro level. No matter your level, on the internet you can find out how to play from various people ( the best one imo being Vesper Arcade) who cover the most basic knowledge and if you want to learn any character you can just search it and have it in an instant: pokes, combos, option selects, safe jumps, and more.

    • @GalassLP
      @GalassLP 10 лет назад +4

      Learning with somebody in an online training mode like this is a lot more convenient though. Learning from somebody who is actively talking to you, giving you suggestions and that you can ask questions, just makes the learning experience a lot less tedious and also a lot faster.
      This obviously depends on the person but some people just learn faster by putting something into practice or seeing stuff instead of reading about something. In addition to that, it's also a possibility to get in contact with some really good players and to get to know them a little bit better than most other people :)
      Honestly, if I would live in the US, I would probably book a session with K-Brad or Meyers too.

      Ya know, I initially thought the same as you and then I had a lesson with Air. I was blown away. There is actually quite a bit of intermediate and advanced info that isn't really written down anywhere, especially match up specific strategies and tactics. Little things that can really level up your game especially in unfavourable matchups

      I can tell you for me personally, I have a lot of issues learning things when I don't have immediate feedback either negative or positive. If this guy never had justing wong say his jab short jab was a bad idea he may have never done anything about it. the odds of finding a video with that very specific information is unlikely.

      Yeah that's true....i would occasionally use jab, short, jab as the starter combo and saw nothing wrong with it until I saw this...

    Could you not have just said to this guy "Go do the trials"? It's good that you're coaching all levels, but maybe let the guy get some basic execution first?

    • @meu02136
      @meu02136 10 лет назад

      Lucina
      He could've said "Go do the trials, get your combos down first, then i'll coach you", saving him money for a needless coaching session.

    • @kumikones
      @kumikones 10 лет назад +3

      meu02136 Think of it this way. Here we have a school. The trials are textbook contents, which tell you things that could be done and should be done, but never telling you their significance or how to use the information. You either go through the textbook yourself, prone to develop bad habits from self-learning, or you could have a person guide you into proper methods of execution.
      Now this is a purely hypothetical situation, but imagine this. You have to input forward then half-circle forward to get your move out. This is somewhat hard to reliably pull off, especially for beginner players. They know it's important in a match, but they don't know how to make it reliable. Trials don't teach the efficient methods for doing these things.
      An experienced person could teach the novice that to be able to pull this off in a real match, you could use a normal, and during the animation, do a full-circle motion starting from the forward motion. This way, you cancel into the move from a normal and pull it off more easily. When the novice gets better, maybe they'll be able to execute the move raw, but that isn't really the point at the time.
      Hope you can see where I'm going with this.

    • @meu02136
      @meu02136 10 лет назад

      I didn't see any of that in this video. I'm just saying that Justin should be able to see his skill level in a few seconds, and it would've made more sense to advise him to practice and then get the hour at a later date.

    • @Dreamysleepyclouds
      @Dreamysleepyclouds 10 лет назад +2

      Justin went over some good stuff trial mode doesn't teach, like punishing sweep and the jab jab crmk fireball. Justin also like to talk about combo efficiency. I'm sure they went over more than just this five minutes of footage

    • @kumikones
      @kumikones 10 лет назад +2

      meu02136 I know that we did not see that in the video. It's a six minute video from an hour session, so it would be poor judgement to infer from it.
      Also, I do not believe that it makes more sense to watch a person do something wrong for a few seconds and then tell them to practice on their own. If a swimming coach teaches a kid how to swim, he advises, instructs and watches the kid swim for as many times as he needs to. Even though the kid is pretty much attempting the same style of swimming multiple times, the coach can correct errors in body posture and form and advise on the kid's tendencies. In essence, that is what a "training session" is all about.
      I once had a math tutor who would make me do drills with her through three-hour sessions, in which she would just watch most of the time. If I had any trouble, she'd be there to help me out, making the learning process very fast and efficient. I couldn't have gotten the grade I did if I'd opted to revise by myself.

    Thats some verrryyy basic stuff. I'm amazed this player didnt know this.

    • @ParabolaTool
      @ParabolaTool 10 лет назад +4

      Everyone says this on every one of these videos. I'll reiterate the common response: not everyone knows what you know and there's a reason they sought professional help on their game. We're all trying to get better. Some people don't do well with digging through tons of info and don't know where to begin. Some people skip a bunch of steps. I know when I started playing Ryu I had seen Daigo do srk fadc ultra and without really knowing basic stuff I went into training for days on end until I could get that combo down. My execution sucks so that was a huge goal to even be able to land that once in awhile. As for landing that in a match? Was never gonna happen with my knowledge of the game. This guy probably missed some steps too.

      If you notice the pp and bp of the student they suggest he just started playing this game, so basics is what he needs to learn.

    Ppl with extra money make me laugh they'll buy anything even stuff that is worthless in real life. I still love this game though..
