    Your makes are fantastic! I was convinced I didn't need another sewing book but you've just changed my mind. Thank you (I think!). ⭐️

    Great to have a ‘walk and talk’ through the book. SO helpful. Thankyou. You have helped me decide to invest in this book to start my journey with stretch fabrics. Got my sewing machine a few months ago for my birthday. Loving learning something new. 🌺😊

    Thank you for making such a great overview of the book! I really appreciate it. I was going to buy just the coco pattern and I've now decided to get the book instead, and if I ever wanted to I reckon I could make something like Coco using the Freya pattern as you're right the neckline could be changed, once I learn how :) You have shown me just how many tips the book contains (I'm a beginner so that will be very helpful I'm sure!). Also, really liked your makes-some lovely fabric choices! Thank you :)

    Wow, those patterns are all so nice! And your garments are so beautiful. I think my favorite one is the striped dress, so cute!

    That's the best review of this book I've seen by a mile. I'm not new to sewing stretch so wondered would I learn much from the book. Also I wasn't drawn to some of the patterns for myself, but you totally sold this to me and I've just ordered a copy from Amazon. I hope you're on commission!😊

    An absolutely brilliant and thorough review 😊, thank you. I haven't purchased the book yet but it's definitely one I need to buy soon. I love the Stella Hoodie dress and the Bibi Pinafore, plus the Frankie Tee. If they fit me as well as her other stretch patterns that I have I just know that half my everyday wordrobe will be Tilly patterns. You model them so well 😀. Xx

    Great review, Emily! As I'm big busted and have broad shoulders, I don't usually go for ruffles in those areas (i made an exception when I sewed up your Ruffle Tee last June, though) but I'm so so tempted by that Freya variation! Love Frankie too, that curved hem is perfection. Your Stella Joggers are great, especially that "design feature" of rolling them up. Might leave your ankles a bit chilly, but you'll be too comfy to care!

    • @selfassemblyrequired
      @selfassemblyrequired  6 лет назад +2

      Ah yes, the chilly ankle problem. I also wear my jeans turned up too so I'm always in a bit of a cold ankle situation! LOL. I think if you get the placement of the ruffles just right, it'll still suit you! The way the ruffles are topstitched on gives you the ability to put them where it will suit your body best!

    Emily that was a brilliant book review - I'm so excited because I did order this book a few months ago so I'm assuming it will be arriving soon! Lovely makes as always :) I love that blush french terry with the stripe in the lining of the hood. Tilly's products are always so well made - great value. What fun this must have been for you to be a part of!

    Have your Stella joggers bagged at the knees at all since you made them? This is the one thing that puts me off making lounging trousers, knowing which fabric to buy to avoid that. I have started sewing knits in the last few months after many years of sewing wovens only, just tops really, but I’d like to give joggers a go.

    • @selfassemblyrequired
      @selfassemblyrequired  6 лет назад

      Jan Di Marco hi! Sorry for the late reply. This answer is yes they have bagged out a little. That’s because the french terry jersey I used doesn’t have and elastane in it for good recovery. Check for that when you’re fabric shopping!

    Tops look great but there’s something amiss with the skirt and the skirt of the striped dress.

    I think I must be the only person not really loving the patterns in the New book. Joggers and hoodie patterns are all the same and the raglan tee shirt is also the same as others which I own already. Nothing really different than what's already about apart from the ruffle dress which I wouldn't wear with being broad shouldered. Disappointed as I loved Tillys 1st book and really wanted to love this 1.
