Excellent tips! I was taught by my Mum in the late 60s, and made lots of clothes. Yet today I am not confident in fitting my larger self, knits are not like crimplene was🤣. I do have your knitwear sewing book tho! It's my daughter of 44 and granddaughter ( I've taught her loads of patchwork and quilting projects but not dressmaking) who want to learn now, so we will look at your recommended patterns. Thank you Tilly!
That was really helpful. Although I'm not a beginner with sewing(I make quilts) I'm not so confident about making clothes, even though I've had some success, probably not really my thing. Like your sewing machine, it looks like a Janome DC6030, I have one too, it's a good little machine although I have since bought a MC8200qcp for quilting. Thanks once again
Love this video thank you I have just started sewing and I have made two skirts the first was not a beginner pattern I had no idea and it doesn’t fit at all! I want to dress vintage and sewing replicas looks so fun but I love the 80s style of your patterns I am going to have to give them a try xx
I’ve got the Dominique pattern I’m just unsure about cutting it out , can you cut your material folded and cut 2 or does it have to be single with 4 pieces thanks 😊
I have made the Stevie top at least half a dozen times. It is dead easy and looks fab.
My Jaimie pattern has just arrived; can’t wait to get practising.
Thank you😊. Would be Really helpful if you had a video going step by step through a beginner pattern ❤️
Thank you for the video, that was very helpful for me as I haven't been sewing for very long 👍

Make it easier on yourself and just double up the fabric. If you need two of the same piece then no point cutting them out seperately!
How do I get the patterns that you got on your post
Hi! Our patterns are available to buy from our website shop.tillyandthebuttons.com 💜
Couldn't watch the end of this video, the background music was so annoying.
