Hello Linda, I will do a tutorial on memory quilt making in the near future. About the size of the squares, I look at the clothes first and assess what size would work best on all of them. Usually 6.5" square work best on baby clothes.
I bought a bunch of sheets from thrift stores to use for quilting. Just 100% cotton ones I can wash and disinfect first. Sometimes you can even find unused donated curtains and sheets and table cloths, etc. This could be a good source for making these sorts of things, bags, totes, backpacks, coasters, pillows. You could even embroider them and make them even more special for people who love handmade items. Your work is beautiful 💓
