Actually, out of all the tops, I think the Orchidée blouse is the most flattering on you. I know it's probably not your style, but I think it suits your shape very well:)
I really, really appreciate your honest, thorough reviews of each piece! Good to hear both the things that you loved and things that could have been better with the patterns.
Loving your sewing makes catch up videos! Funnily enough, I also made the Jenny Overalls in corduroy and Heyday Dungarees in linen earlier this year and created a video series comparing the two. Spoiler: I definitely preferred the Jenny Overalls. Win some, lose some! 🤷♀️
I love how you look on the orchidee blouse. It might not be useful but you look really beautiful in it. All your makes are very well made and you look pretty cute on them, specially the white top and the shorts.
You look really good in the deer and doe blouse, I understand you may not feel super comfortable taking into account how short it is, but honestly, it looks great on you, better than the black one...
It’s funny how different what looks good and what feels good might be! I know objectively the deer and doe one looks good but I’m still waaaay more comfortable in the black one! 🙈
I love the fit of your shorts and corduroy dungarees.I think it would be interesting to see how you make adjustments to your patterns/clothes so you feel better in them.
The Winslow culottes look amazing on you! They look super comfy, been wanting to make myself a pair for a while now, just need to find the right fabric! 😍
I’m 5ft and looking for a good dungaree pattern. Your vlog is an excellent resource - I can clearly see that the Closet Core Dungarees are the ones for my height and body shape, as they have a more clearly defined waist and therefore a more flattering shape for someone who is petite. I thought you looked amazing in them. I thought your tops were lovely too,, my favourite was the Orchidee, It gave you a beautiful silhouette. I love the idea of the rouleau loop closures with that style of blouse - very 40s inspired, but wonder if it could be changed to a normal button closure? Oh, just wondering if that blouse would go under your dungarees for a really fab ‘dressed up’ 1940s inspired land girl look?
Thank you for your comments! The button loop closure on the orchidee could be changed but you’d need to adjust the pattern accordingly so there’s space for an overlap at the front. It can totally see it working with dungarees for the land girl look! ☺️
I’m so glad you had mixed feelings about the Hey Day Dungarees. I did exactly the same and had all your problems….far tooo long, baggy and I didn’t like them either. I tried taking off inches of fabric and they still look huge. I actually think your look better than mine…I looked like a big banana. Hey ho back to the Yantas which fit me much better. Xxx

Haha. I love the orchidee top. I wear high waisted things and I love the place it hits to really exaggerate an hourglass figure.
I am enjoying seeing all your makes.
Thank you!
I agree that the Orchidee blouse is quite vintage looking but it suits you so well and is a great match with your jeans
Thank you!
I think you look stunning in the deer and for top.
Thank you!

Ah, snap! Fit wise there’s no competition between them - the Jenny’s were so much better!
I lost my sewjo for quite a time now, but your makes let me to think maybe I could sew something. Thank you for that 🙂
Awww thank you for your comment. I love being able help people find their sewjo!

I think the bottom frill on Deer & Doe blouse should be longer and less gathered.
I do too. It’s something to remember if I ever make it again!
I really like the deer and doe blouse on you, it is a different vintage style
Thank you!
Love the Valli.
Thank you!

I’d recommend something swishy for the fabric. They feel wonderful!

Omg I’m glad it’s not just me too!! I’m going back to my tried and tested pattern now too! 🙈
I think we may be a similar size so I was wondering what size you made in the Belle top? You have given me the push I needed to make it
It’s an M! Sorry for the late reply!
Lovely blouses! could you move your hair out of the way so we could see the tops of these blouses? Thanx.
Thank you. Will try to remember for next time! (Or what I should really do is just tie it back! 😅)
