Vintage Vault represents some of the best vintage synths money can buy. VV4 adds 3 brand new synths, (Hybrid 6000, Bit Zone and Prime 8+) bringing the total to 36 sampled instruments at a mammoth 281GB with 14,407 presets. Sounds like a cool library. I can imagine it would take me weeks to go through all the presets one by one. Nice review.

What is the situation with the copyright? Presumably everyone has access to the same loops and sequences and would that pose a problem when releasing own material using these? Thanks 😊

Have to ask a captian obvious question here, how would you compare it to Arturia V Collection?

Hey Mike- V collection is softsynths we’re as this is sampled. There is a lot more content in the VV4. They are both the top of their category in my opinion

Many synth presets in UVI sound similar. But there are many useful presets. If you use the workstation, it is not possible to edit and save the presets. You will need Falcon for that. Many synths are versions of the same synth and have similar sounding presets. No drum pattern can be saved in workstation. When presets are a lot, you will be tempted to run it in standalone mode and try changes but can't save any.
Most of the good sounding presets are arps, or gated or sequenced. All other sounds will sound same in most synths.
Arturia also has many good presets and you can save the edited presets. Regards.

Happy to jump in as I use both! Arturia do amazing sampling and their instruments are incredible! UVI also do the same and both collections are vast, will keep you going for a long time and from a preset point of view, there is so much to work through. Each collection include different synths so really it’s a case of what you are looking for. In my opinion, with the new jump to Vintage Vault 4, UVI have made the biggest collection of vintage synths and the collection is incredible! The V collection will keep expanding and add more synths too, but currently it’s huge: Either one will give you a great collection but currently for me, UVI have the edge as this collection is huge, vast and as a Falcon user, very easy to manipulate: UVI did a great job here, but really it’s down to your needs :)

Any chance of showing how you could create a song using the VV4 collection. It can be a crap song, doesn't matter, but i would like to see how you would do it in a DAW for instance. Start with drums for example then add a bassline. Could you use a different synth for each part too as it's how you would make it all work together in a DAW that interests me. Would you use a different track for each instrument, can you edit the instruments, would you do that in your DAW? And show how it does that, for example would you need a different midi channel for each instrument for example. What kind of computer power would you need to do something like this. I saw you playing with the first synth (hybrid 6000) which had what sounded like full arrangements, but how could you change them slightly to fit your own song? I'm kind of new to soft synths but i was doing music the old fashioned way from a long time ago but using an 8 track reel to reel back in the 90s and early noughties using cubase v2.2 i think, but this should be able to do the whole lot in house so to speak. Someone has said in the comments that you can't save presets if you edit them, so would it be best to not edit the sounds? Is there a get around that doesn't mean having to leave the computer switched on for weeks on end? And how could you recall a song if it won't save edited patches? Would you save the edits as wavefiles and then arrange those wavefiles in the song afterwards? For example if you added new drum parts to something that sounded like a good starting point, would you change them and save as a wavefile and then just use those wavefiles, or is there a way to put the kick on track one the snare on track 2 etc and build up a drum part using this?

Syntronik 2 Max,Uvi and Omnisphere 2...Enough for everything..

I'm in a similar spot since i have Syntronik 2 max which is also sample based - but also Arturia V collection 9. Will this be overkill? What do you do with syntronik 2 max and Vintage Vault 4? Don't they overlap?

    • @frattuncbas

@@bateimidrashnetwork They are really similar but if you want more catalog for vintage presets, you can..I dont need, its very enough for me only Syntronik 2 Max,Sampletank 4 Max and some Arturia stuff..I wi pass Uvi and will buy an Omnisphere 2..I love it,very enough for everything..Then Omnisphere 3 will be superhero.
