Apollo was the name for prototype of Polymoog. It was intended as part of system called Constellation which would have comprised of polyphonic Apollo, Lyra monophonic synth for soloing and melodies and Taurus bass pedal. Keith Emerson used Lyra and Apollo with ELP on the album Brain Salad Surgery. Lyra was not developed to production. Apollo became the Polymoog and Taurus I to be precise is of course the famous bass pedal used by many groups such as Genesis, Rush and many others. Polymoog was famously used by Gary Numan ("Cars", "Replica" for example) and Rick Wakeman of Yes.
Heartbreakingly beautiful Chords at the top, Ujiie, thank you as always for making such good music in your Videos.

Nice demo though. Thanks for the time.
買っちゃいました。しあわせ!
14:24 lovely OB
Oh boy, the real Oberheim at 16:54 sounds so much better. And imagine how much better it will sound in person. We live in a strange times where digital convenience and price is blurring a little bit our perception and standard of quality. And by “We” I mean the musicians and producers who care about this. How about the average listener? Please don’t understand me wrong. I’m still very impressed by this whole package. May be is just the analog synths.
Its not the same patch, plus the plugin has a Chorus on it. Can't really compare the two.
Kynect2Hymn Comparing is exactly what is happening in this part of the video. This guy knows what he is doing. He is a pro.
There is no chorus on the plug in. You can even see on the computer monitor that there is delay and reverb and still it is not as good as the real synth.
I think that part of this is an illusion, because the real one actually sounds louder. Usually louder tends to be perceived as better quality.
But does the listener care? Within a few years the difference wont be worth getting all worked up over. I use vsts far more than hardware nowadays, when you add a bit of maximisation they sound even better. If you could have heard a modern vst back when analogue reigned you would have sold your analogue in a heartbeat, most people did for the Dx7 let alone a top of the range plugin.
Same with the mini. When he played the real mini, you immediately hear that extra power coming out the hardware. Bizar how after so many years, the plug ins still can't reach that level.
The emulation of the OB was about 75% there. Big difference to my ears.
100% there. Because they're recordings, samples. Not, circuit emulator

There does seem to be more beef with the real analogue here but it's not an entirely, nor meant to be, a scientific nor proper comparison because of what some of you mentioned below: not proper level matching, not the exact or same sound and effects on one and not the other, to name three.
True, and once recorded in song, daresay one could not tell...
Hi!)
12:51 Sledgehammer?
I hate to say it, but these sound nothing like their hardware counterparts. I've got a lot of what this offers and apart from some sampled waves, this sounds too polished and generic.
