"Ducana is the greatest thing ever." Yep, you had me right there. But that plating? Lord, that is the most dramatic and fancy plating I've ever seen! Have me here cracking up! We need to have a high-end Antiguan and Barbudan restaurant and this is what I expect!
I know the struggle of living away and not having good curry all too well. I lived in rural Canada and had to buy Wal-Mart curry... 😢 Needless to say I developed a way to make it work. I'll probably make a video on that sometime. :)
I think I've had that before in Miramar. You stuff it with something right? It's so cool to see the different variations each island has of the same things. :)
@@beefzus without a doubt. In P.R. we usually wrap them in banana leaves (as you previously suggested 😊), and they are usually savory stuffed with seafood, or any meat, but because I am vegan I have played around with many variations. Always a path of culinary discovery.
You need to explain that when we say fig leaves, we mean banana leaves though, cause some people will be looking for fig leaves lol also, I detest raisins, don't judge me lol I'll be using dried cranberries instead

Ducana deserves reverence. 😁

In south indian age old traditional recipes we make similar with sweet potato, coconut, sugar and cardamom.
Oh nice! What is it called?
Also, I've never heard of cardamom before. Does it taste like cinnamon or nutmeg?
It's the shade .. lef the ppl them dumpling lone
I don't want them to be basic all their lives. 🙃
Definitely making this weekend 😭
Keep me posted on how it goes! :)
My daughter and I followed this recipe for her SS SBA on culture.
I'm so happy I could help! :)
My guy, this takes me back to the west indies. You have to do a goat curry recipe can't get any good goat curry here in northern Virginia 😂
I know the struggle of living away and not having good curry all too well. I lived in rural Canada and had to buy Wal-Mart curry... 😢
Needless to say I developed a way to make it work. I'll probably make a video on that sometime. :)
@@beefzus oh man I'll be waiting!!
Nicely done… you can also wrap them in grape leaves too
Very true!
Not grape leaves... seaside grape leaves.
@@frank_southwell thank you. It was an error but once you’re an Antiguan, you have to know what grape leaves I’m talking about 😊
Patiently waiting on the dumpling video now ( *potato, Carrot, fig, breadfruit* ).
Was thinking about doing fried dumplings next. :)
@@beefzus even that!
Soon... :)
I use coconut milk also. Just saw this posted on FB and clicked. Now, I guess I will have to go through the other videos. Lol
Coconut milk is so clutch. Hopefully you like the other vids. :)
For an even more amazing taste, my mother would pre-soak the raisins in wine or any other liquid for 24 hours.
No alcohol for me!
Wow! We call these pasteles de postre in Borikén, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 (dessert pasteles).
I think I've had that before in Miramar. You stuff it with something right?

I am not familiar with Miramar?
Wow😍
Can we get a link to the round plating tool?
Go to Chef's World across from the Public Cemetery and ask for an egg ring. Just pick a size. I use them mostly for shaping burger patties.
🔥 🔥🔥
😁😁
Well damn !! 🤤
I need a gluten free version
I've never made a gluten free anything before... but I may consult an expert on that and get back to you. :)
Me ah big chef nowww (kinda)
It's the plating for me 👍
Tried a thing. Lol :)
Loved this video👏🏾! Sorry to disappoint though but I'm still #TeamNoRaisins
This breaks my heart! 😭
I’m ALWAYS so disappointed when they don’t have any raisins 😢
They should require raisins by law! Lol
You need to explain that when we say fig leaves, we mean banana leaves though, cause some people will be looking for fig leaves lol also, I detest raisins, don't judge me lol I'll be using dried cranberries instead
You're right @ fig.
Raisins are the best part though. 😢
Well this ducana posh bad...This Ducana has a 5.0 GPA, Went to Oxford, and currently has a credit score of 900! 😁
This ducana is going places. 😁
@@beefzus Yep! To the top! Lol First class all the way!
Beef next video Antigua Bun recipe😊😊😊😊
I'm actually working on it. :)
Had me up until Raisins...
Coconut dumplings it is
LOL, just eat the raisins. 😜
Not everybody put raisins In their Dukana. Just leave the raisins out lol.
Next time, say banana leaves and not fig leaves.
Well, it's what we call them.
