You're right. The most well balanced people I've seen listen to multiple styles of music, not just one. I listen to everything from metal to Broadway to classical and some country and rap.
I go to rock shows, ballets, operas, Broadway plays and the philharmonic. every musical style has something good about it.
Im a metalhead and i actually rexovered from anorexia because i wanted to have any stamina to go to gigs and found many friends that helped me go through my problems and i also found a big passion for fuitar and have actual reasons to live now so ig sometimes music really saves lives lol

I think that it’s also something where you need to take age into context as well. Not all people who listen to kpop are nececcarily fans, and not all fans are stans. As a person who has been listening to kpop for a pretty long time, i can say that the stan side of it can be annoying and crazy, but i hope people would see points like enjoying music because its in a different language (because so much of music is in english), and just different concepts compared to western artists and bands. So what i mean is that people love to dislike other peoples music tastes by seeing only the crazy fans and the most popular groups (bts), and ignoring the groups and artists who do not have a big image in western media, or ones which are older and most likely disbanded.
