Great Tutorial, no music yaaayyy..You speak so clearly and your instruction are easy to follow...Thank You sooo much for sharing. Gonna go make a ton of them...and have them available to give family and good friends when they visit, just a little something to say; thank you for stopping by to say hello😊🎉
Thanks so much for the kind words! 🥰 I'm so glad you liked the video. Happy creating! I'm sure everyone will appreciate the gifts.
Hi Sandra, I have been crocheting for about 3 years and now I am trying to teach my niece to crochet. I just found this video and it is PERFECT! I love it. I have subscribed to your channel and will have my niece subscribe also. I can’t wait to do this dishcloth project with her. Many, many thanks and appreciation. Liz B ( from Corning, NY)
So glad this was helpful! Thanks so much for your kind words. I hope you both have lots of fun making things together 🤗
I inherited a bunch of my 94yr old Grandmothers crochet hooks, & all her supplies, but unfortunately her hands do not work as they used to. She crocheted since she was 9, & made hundreds of blankets. I honestly had zero desire to learn when I was younger. Flash forward to 4yrs ago, & while in Mexico for my Moms birthday. I asked her what she’d like to do on her special day, & she stated all she wanted to do was to teach me how to make “scrubbies”, as in the round dish cleaners that are crocheted out of netting. Took me a while to learn, but now I can do them in my sleep. The problem is, that’s ALL I know how to crochet! So when I Google searched easy dishcloth patterns, & your video came up I was ecstatic! FINALLY someone who understands that beginners do not know the names of stitches, & need to be shown more then once how things are done. I’m really excited to start on my 1st dishcloth, & you’ve gained a follower for life! Thank you so very much!!!☮️💟
I love your story! ❤ Thank you for sharing it. Glad that my video could help. Enjoy your new journey! ☺
Very helpful - I LOVE the lack of music!! So many fill their video with loud, annoying music, making it hard to concentrate on the persons voice. So, thank you!! 🤗
Thanks and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I agree the music is so distracting. I often have to leave a video because I just can't focus. My brain just doesn't work that way LOL.
I AGREE!!
I agree. Sometimes it overpowers the tutorial. And as a beginner. I find it quite off puting. 👌💜
I like the way you explain things. Very easy to follow. Thank you!
Easy crochet dishcloth
Love the colors!
Sandra, I just had to stop and send you a huge thank you!! First of all, I just found you this week! I absolutely love your video tutorials! :)
That's so sweet Cherie, thank you!!! 😊😘
You do a great job explaining crochet. I’m an intermediate crocheted but I can’t learn to read patterns. Great video ❤
Thanks! So glad it's helping you. I always do better with visuals rather than patterns.
Very helpful! Half way through my first wash rag thanks to you!
Great! Glad you liked it ☺
I just found this tutorial & I loved it, you’re delightful!!! RUclips professional 😂😂😂. Easy dish cloth, I love it!!! I like the size as well. New subscriber!!!
Awe! Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for subscribing 🤗☺️
Made one and use it for a potholder and also as a hot mat to sit hot things on
Awesome! They are great for that!😊
Love the tip about how ever many stitches you use on your chain is how many rows you will need that’s a really great tip 🥰
Thanks!
Beautiful just needed a refresher
Great ☺ Thanks!
Love your video easy to follow and learn
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it ☺
Thanks for sharing. It’s helpful when the camera zooms in. I can see the stitch better. Beautiful work.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice! Enjoyed the video!
Thank you!! I'm making my first crochet dishcloth from your video!!
Yay! You will love it. Glad the video helped ☺️
Very pretty and easy. Thank yu
I'm new to crocheting and this really helped give a visual of what I'm supposed to be doing especially when it comes to starting a new row! Thank you!
Glad you liked it thanks!
Great video and instructions and instructor!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it ☺
I learned from you with the dish cloth. I enjoy these so do my friends. Patti
Great! Glad you all enjoy them! Thanks for watching. ☺️
Thank you so much for this video!! I’ve wanted to learn how to crochet for a long time and I’ve been trying to learn how in the past few weeks! These dish cloths are exactly what I want to try! After watching you present this tutorial in such a kind and simple way, I feel encouraged! I’m not comfortable yet with how I hold everything and I’m very slow! I need a lot of practice, but now I feel like, I’m time, I will be successful! Thank you!!
Thank you for the kind words! I'm so glad this encouraged you 😊 It's all about practice! You've got this!
Thanks for the great tutorial!
Good pace of information, not a lot of yack but peppered with humor & life lessons.
I had just made my first dishcloth with the Sugar & Cream Stripes, using a 5 mm hook and was looking for info on finishing it off when I discovered this video. I’m wondering if anybody puts a loop on one of the corners so you can hang it on a hook to dry between uses? I put one ok but didn’t like how it look although I think it could potentially be useful.
Unfortunately, I had
lost track of time and it turned out to be 8.5”x 7.0” but I didn’t have the heart to pull out the stitches to make it a square so I left it as is. It’s not like it being a square is the LAW or anything so I guess this will be my own little dishcloth with its charming imperfections and begin Xmas gift production tomorrow. 😊
Glad you liked it thanks! Foe sure- use it as it is lol. If it works don't worry over it 😊 I have seen loops on towels but you could totally add it to your dishcloths too. It's your project so whatever you want to do is right.
Sandra Belz thanks! In looking at it with fresh eyes this morning, I do think the dimensions detract and it seems like - ideally to me - it wants to be about 5” square to be used for its intended purpose most effectively.
This works out well because I can then make more and therefore, sets, in the same amount of time.
To thread the needle, twist then fold then thread where the yarn is folded. So easy.
Nice Voice, Dishcloth looks Great, and good for beginners pace.
Maybe also turn your
I-phone camera sideways or horizontally when filming. Thanks for the tutorial ! 👍🏻 Good work!
❤Love these❤
I'm so glad! Thanks ❤️
Thank you, very nice voice and instructions.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm just learning to crochet myself. I've made quite a few dishcloths, but I think my worst problem is stitching too tight. But it's still fun.
Yes learning the feel for not pulling the yarn too tight or keeping it too loose was my biggest problem at first too!
Hi, I do them all the time.. as a matter of fact I am just finishing up a border on one right now! 😄 I also do use them for washcloths in the shower... they aren't too rough for me...it actually helps exfoliate and get those dead skin cells off. To me it is not rougher than those netted pouffe things they sell at the store. I usually make dishcloths, washcloths, coasters and hotpads (not potholders) just the hotpads for putting like a casserole dish on straight out of the oven so your table doesn't get a burn Mark or get warped. I do all of these things in between bigger projects bc I like do crochet something that I can finish quickly and see the results. 😀😂💛. Oh, and yes, I do different stitches for these. The one I'm just finishing up is the primrose stitch. I have done all sorts of different stitches, from puff, popcorn, fp and bp dc, and more. Thanks for the tutorial! 🌼
I definitely don't love those crazy nylon poufs for the shower either! And I love the shorter projects too, I love seeing the results pretty quickly when it comes to just about everything LOL. Thanks for sharing about your projects! I will have to look into that Primrose Stitch. I haven't tried one of those yet. I'm always looking for new ideas so thanks for sharing! And thanks for watching😊
@@BohoJouelSandraMBelz Oh, I don't like those netted poufs either.. I was just comparing the roughness. I'm getting ready to make yet ANOTHER dishcloth (I have so many!) right now.. trying to decide on a stitch...maybe I'll go with your tutorial...OH, I just remembered..I wanted to try using the extended sc...I've never made anything with that stitch, so I'm going to check it out. Have a great rest of your day! 💜😊
@@Pitoonya Cool! Have fun creating 😊 And have a great day too 😉

Hello 👋. thanks for sharing this with us.🎉❤
Awe! Glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
I am going to try to make one
Awesome!
Thank u for explaining on our to do it
Thank you. Very good
Glad you enjoyed it!
I Iike to turn to back side to sew in my ends goin in and out under stitches then I ho back the reverse direction to be sure to secure the loose end, trim closely.
I will do some for our bazzar
Nice! I hope the bazaar goes well!
Making ones for gifts.
They make great gifts!
Hello 👋 yes i make dishcloth s washcloths and potholed to.
That's awesome!
Morning, I knit mine to sell at markets
I do think I will try your method for a change. Thanks!
☺️The knit ones are nice too! I do find that the crochet doesn't get as dense and heavy, so they dry out faster between uses.
My family cannot get enough of them..i do 34 chain
I've made many dishcloths, different patterns. I find if I have a variety people have a choice. I sell more this way. I'm adding your pattern to my mix. Thank you for sharing. ❣️
I have a very hard time learning ANYTHING new, been making these for a long time, they are not always perfect, but....I would love to make a border around them, tried to follow a video showing how to do so, but I was just too confused, can you help, love that you show things slowly.
So glad this video helped! Here is a link to the video I did sharing how to make a border. Hope it works for you ☺ruclips.net/video/57pcqF6fmGo/видео.html
thank you! I'm just starting and my first one wash cloth was crooked. I see I need to add a stitch at each end.
So glad it helped! ☺️💛
love the vid. i like the smaller cloths. how did you keep the cotton from fading?
Thanks! It fades eventually, no matter what you do, but I have noticed that the red dyes really fade fast. The lighter colors are usually okay longer. Once they are too worn for dishes, I keep them for cleaning.
@@BohoJouelSandraMBelz thank you so much for responding so quickly.
I just finished a dishcloth. It’s kellygreen. I didn’t know how to upload a pic. You mentioned selling them at the farmers market. Would you recommend individually or say sets of 3? If so what would you suggest charging. Looking on Etsy it’s so hard to get a gage.
Yay! I always charged $4 for one, or two for $7. And people were happy to pay that and enjoyed them. They do last a long time so they are worth it. I've seen people sell them for much cheaper, but then I know they can't even be getting their money back for their yarn! Just remember whatever you decide to charge, it's easier to go down on a price and it is to go up. Let me know how it goes for you!
Darning needle is best for weaving in the tails because it isn't sharp and big eye for threading your yarn.
Thanks for the tip!
What can I make with a 5.7mm
So pretty and excellent instructions. I am genuinely puzzled about the uses of crochet dishcloths. I just don't get it. I must be doing something wrong. I crocheted a dishcloth but when I used it to wash dishes it was useless and I ended up using a sponge instead. Used the same cotton you did. I hung it up to dry and it took three days. So many people love them that I know I am missing something. Please someone tell me how to use them and what I might be doing wrong. These look like so much fun. Just don't get how to use them properly. Thanks.
I wring mine out and hang them over the faucet to dry so air gets to it from all sides. They dry pretty quickly that way. It may be personal preference as to how they feel when washing.
They look to small to me I think I will make a few more rolls
Still learning how to crochet.
It takes time. I'm still learning new things all the time too! Have fun with it ☺️
Hi Sandra! I had a question. How did you add another color yarn in your dishcloth examples? I really want to do a multi-colored one. This would be my first crochet project ever! Thank you! -From an absolute crochet beginner
Good question! I actually did a quick video just on this and I'll link it here. There are a few ways, so you can choose which method works best for you. Best wishes on your new crochet journey! ruclips.net/video/cLHaIS4mFzk/видео.html
@@BohoJouelSandraMBelz Thank you so much!
Can u show me which is the 1st loop you put the hook into after u chain and turn? Its the empty hole correct? I've seen some people say u go into that little triangle in the one u did and turned.
It's the 1st space, yes. ☺️
Make them all the time. Make baby ones so
What yarn and color did you use for the green multi colored one at the beginning of the video? I was gifted one that color and have been trying to find the yarn to make more of that color.
Honestly it was so long ago I can't remember! But I will see if I can find it 😊
Sandra Belz it’s okay if you don’t know, I just realized this video was from a year ago.
@@kaylynmueller9824 No problem! I usually use the Sugar n' cream yarns for these- and I think the color is "Psychadelic". I found this on Amazon, hope it's the one you were looking for! amzn.to/2QqEwNT
😊
I’m a super beginner and I’ve been working on this project and I must’ve done something wrong so my ends are not squared they are rounded will they still turn out fine? I like the way they look this far.
Hmm. If you like how it's going so far, keep doing a few rows and see how it turns out. You can always unravel and try again from the beginning. I've had to do that many times!
Thank you for the reply I’ll do that! (:
Do you border your washcloths?
I usually just leave the edges as they are. A shell border would be cute though!
How do you keep it square
Make sure you're going into the last stitch on every row. Also if you pull the yarn too tightly it may cause a bit of a wonky line. ☺️
I make them as gifts i use all different kinds of yarn
They are great gifts! I was actually thinking about making some again this year to give. People love them 😊
Hi how many chains are we to count across
There is no specific number for this pattern. I would say just measure the link that you want your Square to be. The chain length will depend on the thickness of your yarn and the size of hook you're using.
Nice ❤how much you charge? When u sell them ❤❤❤❤
I haven't sold any in a while, but about 4 years ago, I would sell them for $4-$5 each. That seemed to be a price point that people responded well to. Just be sure that you are getting back the cost of your yarn and considering your time. ☺️
How much did small one chain
I believe it's just 1 or 2 chains less than the demo. Really you can make them any size you like, it's all about personal preference ☺️
What ? What about the second row I didn't understand any of that
How many chains I think I missed that
I usually do 20-25, but you can make it larger if you like. ☺️
Try them too I can help u
When you chain one at the end of a row making a sc dishcloth do you go into that chain on row 2 or skip it?
So I tend to do my chain 1 at the end of a row before I turn the piece- I have noticed a lot of other people turn their item before making their first chain one on the next row. So you don't Stitch into that first chain it is your first chain on the next row. I hope that makes sense and I hope I understood your question correctly!
why don’t my crocheted things look as pretty as everyone else’s? lol😂
😂 Don't stress over it! It's like anything else, the more you play and practice the better it gets. ☺️
@@BohoJouelSandraMBelz thank you!! 🧶❤️
how much do u sell them for and how many do u sell
I used to sell them when I did the farmers market a couple of years ago. I would sell them $4 each or 2 for $7. I sold quite a lot of them!
@@BohoJouelSandraMBelz thanku
I just watch video. It does not help me because I am left hand . Can you do it with your left hand please
So sorry, but I am not that coordinated lol! Maybe there is a channel or video demonstrating left handed crochet? Best of luck!
B
You should specify beginners but thanks
you can do loom to hang it up
Oh yeah, good idea!
How many you put on the chai
20-25 depending on how long you want it
I what make baby blankets
@@creationcrochetnanny8675 You would use a softer and thicker yarn than what I use for the dishcloths, so probably also a bit larger crochet hook. I would say with that chain 150-200 or more until you get the size you like. 😊
@@BohoJouelSandraMBelz thanks
Sorry about my typos in my comment a few minutes ago! I should have checked better before I sent it!😂
Lol! No worries! Autocorrect gets me a lot 😂
I love your video but sometimes your hands go off camera and we can’t see what your doing but I liked it anyways ty
Thanks for the feedback! This was 1 of the 1st videos I ever made, and I agree. I try to improve with each one. ☺
Hi Sandra instead of making dishcloth
Can’t you sew them in to a blanket
Thank you
Marydalton
Sure! You could sew different color squares together, or use the same stitch to make a blanket. Create a starting chain the length you want the blanket to be.
Okay how do sew the dishcloths together
@@marydalton7266 You would take the yarn that you're working with, lay the squares next to each other and using a yarn needle thread the yarn back and forth through your chains to connect them. Does that help? If not maybe I could do a small example video this week.
@@BohoJouelSandraMBelz hi am sorry about so mean messages am a first time crocheting
@@marydalton7266 no worries! I understand. Let me know if you can get them sewn together. I am happy to help. ☺️
