    It's amazing that anyone asked about how many stitches to make. She said "9 inches" for her project. Just make a chain until it reaches 9 inches, if you want yours to be the same size. Just count each stitch as you go until you reach the desired length.
    As for the hook size, that 100% depends on the yarn you buy. Not all information can go into one video without it being painfully long. Do your due diligence and try a little research on those basics.
    Maybe check to see if she has videos about those things.
    It's totally on you to answer ALL your own questions.
    I'm a beginner, too, but I already looked up those basic questions myself.
    I'm grateful her videos are still going because she seems pretty knowledgeable. I'm sorry to see she had passed away.❤

      It is a very easy pattern for a beginner, and it keeps the edges neat. Do not worry if you have to do it a few times. Cotton yarn can very much and can be sticky at times. A metal hook is always better.

      Here's a slightly easier way to make what she made. Chain an odd number of chains. On next row put a single crochet in the 2nd chain then double in the next (keep alternating to the end) and the last stich will be a double. Chain 1 and turn then do the exact same. First stich will always be a single and the last one is always a double. It makes perfect dishcloth texture. It will look just like the one Melanie made here.

    I literally never comment but my goodness there are some RUDE people in this world! She doesnt need to tell you the size hook it varies on the yarn you choose! Clearly she said the number of chains doesnt matter it just depends on how big you want it!! Yall get free videos teaching you a very calming craft and up complain! Holy cow people think just a little for yourselves or you'll never learn anything! She cant learn it for you!! (Rant over)

    • @sgh416
      @sgh416 4 года назад +29

      Nicole Howell I might have agreed with you if this wasn’t being referred to as a beginner’s tutorial. When people are starting out, they want and need more detailed instructions. Once they become more proficient, they can ‘think just a little’ for themselves. I didn’t see any rude or complaining questions nor did anyone ask her to ‘learn it’ for them. Give these people a break and some leeway when they are starting out.

      If anyone has the system you can put all of these on your big screen television. That’s what I do especially when I am struggling to see exactly where I need to place the hook etc … having the option to use the 📺 is much better/easier to control the video as well because you can use your 📺 remote to stop/start the tutorials. It’s great! The option to do this should be on your device that you are using. Good luck.
