@@manthony777 he left because it was unsafe for him to be there that’s a bit unreasonable to expect him to stay it would be different if he left because he just wanted to move
@@manthony777 Or, here's a thought 🤔 _clean the apartment after you move out_ ! Especially if you're leaving blood stains that likely require *specialized* cleaning supplies.
Why on God's green earth would the landlord have to lose money because of something completely out of his control? I feel bad for the guy who got shot, but just because something bad happened to him doesn't mean other people have to pay for it. Go after the guys that broke in. Follow up with the police. Don't try to sue your landlord for nothing.
People's hearts are getting cold in the end days.
Wow Judge M!!! You consistently rule on the landlords side. This man was shot in the face. He felt unsafe. Making him pay for the newspaper ad to recent the darn apartment is tacky. Obviously he’s a dumb young kiddo but to make him shoulder the cleanup cost of supplies to clean the blood! You really should have made the landlord refund all his deposit. The man certainly didn’t do anything to cause himself to get shot. It was no more his fault than the landlords and yet you managed to make the guy absorb the cost of it. Amazing how you can pull the rough justice out for everything else except instances like this where the landlord should have been ashamed. No doubt this kid missed work. Had to move when he was recovering etc.
He was growing weed in the closet and got robbed, since you failed to connect the dots.

Of course he should have. It wasn't the landlord's fault he was shot.

I thought that as well. They are supposed to offer safe living conditions. This situation easily could have happened because of the landlord. He just so "happened" to be out of town.
In what world is a landlord responsible for making sure you're not a victim of a home invasion? Especially when the Invaders are literally waiting outside of your door?

I don't agree with the Judge. Who would feel comfortable to continue living there .? Not for just robbery, but being SHOT. The landlord is not responsible but the plaintiff's personal fear of remaining there and almost losing his life should justify his right to vacate. There's always a chance the attackers or robbers will Return. . I was burglarized one time and guess what?? within a year, I was burglarized 2 more times. I had to move. I would have moved immediately if I had been Shot.
Yeah, don't get it, he had a right to vacate! The law can be cruel sometimes.
He has the right to do what he wants, she didn’t disagree with his choice. Just as she didn’t disagree with the defendant putting up better security stuff… but that’s his choice and not the cost of the plaintiff.
Just as the defendant isn’t to blame for the plaintiff’s misfortune. It would’ve been morally nice of the defendant to wave it but he didn’t have to do so.
Landlord should have let him leave free of charge.
She said “I have been around the block” 😂😂
It is NOT the Landlord problem.
Judge ruled correctly.
Plenty of people have personal problems and must move asap .BUT thet still owe that RENT.
The owner has the CHOICE but is NOT obligated to waive the rent
Plantiff has some nerve.
Sheesh, landlord have a heart. Story does sound odd, but stranger things have happened.

Pretty sure he said he lived in Philly. There are many home invasions everywhere and I think they ran when he got shot because it’s a good possibility that the shotgun trigger alarm, that are in many big cities may have been set off (silently of course)and the burglars ran knowing they had a better chance of catching a case. Hey, they have plenty more houses to rob without attempted murder hanging over their heads.
Ain’t nobody gonna comment on the fact that judge milian literally said she got a lot of mileage on her and bailiff Doug immediately interjects with the “don’t say that” 😂😂😂😂😂

Well his story doesnt exactly add up.... of course crazy things can happen but a home invasion where 2 men were waiting outside your door and shot you in the face sounds alot more like a hit. Especially being that they took nothing and didnt even damage his apartment.
He did have a reason to leave, it just wasnt the landlord's problem. That shooting was costly for him financially emotionally and physically

Philliadephia is a grimey city, sometimes you don't have to know the person for someone to pick you as a "target". Business is Business I understand but, this is a extreme circumstance, but sometimes you have to cut the guy some slack. Maybe half of security deposit for medical bills or something.

He’s lucky he is alive….
God forbid something like this happens to that Landlord's family or relatives. I hope he looks back on this case and regrets it everyday of his life for the rest of time that he is on this earth😐
I don’t like the assumption that the guy must have known who attacked him. Random things like this do happen, it makes sense that the robbers would run off after a gun shot.
I think so too. They may have thought someone heard the gunshot and ran off bc they didn’t want to get caught. Random crimes happen all the time. Or, they could’ve been looking for a previous tenant. 🤷🏽♀️
OR... they stole the weed he was growing in his closet, and once he got stuck with a huge power bill and no product to cover it, he decided to try to screw over the landlord. It's not like he could tell the judge "I'm a drug dealer Your Honor."
@@MrFetchthestick Why are you so stuck on saying this guy was growing weed? JM literally said (several times) that he had a previous unpaid balance.

You don’t know who that landlord had in there before him. You’ve only got his word that that guy wasn’t a bad guy. So maybe the attackers thought it was that guy still there.
We lived at some super ghetto apartments in 2021. The lease was to end in Nov 2021, but we had an incident where someone shot up our cars. The landlord allowed us to cut the lease short by submitting a 2 month notice. That allowed us to get out just in time for the closing of our new home in Sept.
One day even judges will be judged

That electric bill should not even be possible, even with several computers, TVs and light running. Definitely sounds like there was some indoor growing going on in that closet, because that stuff takes up insane amounts of electricity.
