Mel- That was my first thought as well, though the plaintiff could have rebutted that since her and her husband were there feeding the defendants kids they weren’t in immediate danger but after they left the children lost that resource. Just playing devils advocate.
The judge explained in another case that the person’s reasons for reporting you don’t matter. What matters is if there was any truth the the claims. The defendant couldn’t seem to get her story straight about how many men were visiting her at the house so that’s probably why the judge didn’t award her any money.
The plaintiff's "husband" depends on her for everything; just look at his demeanor. Wouldn't it make sense to find an apartment instead of a room with a man, woman, child and another on the way?

To think a grown man and a woman have to rent a room because they cannot afford their own place. I get it... But to think these same people would have not one but two kids. Then mind the business of a woman who is more financially stable than both of them. Cannot make it up.
The plaintiff was a prostitute. That's financially stable lol 😆 and she's not stable because she was renting a room which means she needed help to pay rent
Absolutely well SAID!!!
Her HUSBAND should’ve looked for an entire APARTMENT/ HOUSE for his family. Her pregnant ass found a damn room for all of them. Lol her husband seems like a bum
Agreed
Just my opinion if I'm with a man and he is not out there hustling to do what's necessary then I don't need him.
Perhaps if she focused more on her own life then she wouldn’t have to temporarily move her- her husband and children into someone else’s home
Boom 💥💥💥
Her HUSBAND should’ve looked for an entire APARTMENT/ HOUSE for his family. Her pregnant ass found a damn room for all of them. Lol her husband seems like a bum
Bingo!

exactly ! the delusion is astounding
Room 4 rent, on Craigslist? What could possibly go wrong??? lol
I’m so thankful I live alone. I will never ever live with someone unless I absolutely had to, last resort.
I didn't even like having roommates in college...I couldn't imagine moving a whole family in. Situations like this are what women's shelters are for. They would've helped her more than her so called husband
Exactly
I would NEVER rent a room in my home.
The plaintiff’s first statement set the tone of this case.. If they were so unhappy they should’ve found another place to live. This is the risk that you take when you move into a complete stranger’s house. At least the defendant had her own place for her and her children. Trifling 🤦🏾♀️
They. Did. They were there for less than two months! The defendant was in the EXACT same situation as they were. RENTING a shared house! Why are you so blind?
They did they just want their money back
The audacity to tell the home owner not to have guest
You guys are killing me! She is not a homeowner, but a renter!
@Christina the audacity of the ppl subleasing to tell the renter they can't have ppl in their own dwelling. lord lol if you're still paying mortgage don't be classist
It was none of the tenants business who she invites over.
When there are children involved you need to be extra careful where you’re renting especially if you’re going to have roommates
I agree
Renting a room out to a family of 4, indicates times are tough and its going to get tougher.
The husband should be trying to make a way for his wife and children to be comfortable in their OWN home. Now the defendant was wrong, but the plaintiff have to understand when you live in a stranger home, you are at risk of them doing things towards you. Its best to have your own place so you don't have to worry about being mistreated in someone else home.
They’re both bums
You can be mistreated anywhere tho, even if you have your own...
Everybody can't always afford their own food
Very Mature Statement
@@mrs.imakeitmybusiness True but when you have your own place you don't have to share anything with anyone. You can actually relax and have privacy.
She should've been rewarded money for them reporting her. She did it maliciously.
I do not know how JM did not catch that; the plaintiff was so petty.
They shouldn’t have stayed there. Why were they not living with their relatives. That’s too many people in a room.
Unfortunately a lot of Black Americans don't like helping their relatives.
I feel sorry for the children involved. Sounds very dangerous.
If u don't like it - leave! You rented a room so stay in it! Don't judge and you won't be judged. This is classic
The plaintiff's "husband" depends on her for everything; just look at his demeanor. Wouldn't it make sense to find an apartment instead of a room with a man, woman, child and another on the way?
Sad to say he appears to be lazy and sorry. A real man would not subject his wife and children to chaos and dysfunction!!! The landlord is a mess as well but it's her house last time I checked.
Y’all sad
How about not having kids they can’t afford
Why didn't the judge ask to see the defendant's original rental contract? I guarantee the landlord didn't know 8 people were living there.
Isn't it 7 people in the apartment
@@motherof1294 the defendant had 2 children, right? Plus her boyfriend. Then 4 renters. I bet only 1 person was listed on the lease🤷

It gets interesting to see TAPE on a stove - like you couldn't remove the tape and start cooking.
So exactly how big is this "room" if you and your man plus child and new baby are there in it worried about who comes and goes from the home?
I can understand why she wanted them out of the house as that is too many personalities under one roof to be considered something long term.
Squatters.
Why does she keep referring to the bum behind her as her husband when the girl says it’s her boyfriend? She’s mighty smug considering the circumstances

If I have to rent a room, it would not be with my husband. Women are sooo quick to say my husband, my husband, your husband has you reaching out and inquiring about a room to rent. If you have to rent a room, you don’t need a husband

I can tell if you had a significant other and y'all went through hard times you would leave. It's a lot of reasons other than someone being lazy that ppl rent rooms. The plaintiff NEVER explained WHY they had to but that they had to for a short period of time. A person could be waiting for their next apartment to get ready while they just rent a cheap room from someone. Instead of going to a hotel, where in VA a NICE one with a kitchenette is $300 a week (I've had to do this because I had no family to help); that's $1200 a month! A husband, wife and two kids renting a room? Both look healthy get your act together.
Right, that must b a big ass room....with a sitting area lol
The plaintiff is confused. Bi-weekly is different than semi-monthly.
To my knowledge both are EVERY two weeks 😉
I'm not saying that the defendant is right or wrong I'm not even halfway through this episode but I don't think it's any of the plaintiff's business who the defendant brings in as far as boyfriends go, if she doesn't want her daughter to see a different man in the house everyday then keep your daughter in the room I don't even know if that's true but I'm just saying that's not your place to go and confront her about it.

@@laurawilliams8806 facts
People like the plaintiff's really annoy me, they lived there for two months and say that they saw different men coming in and out everyday, they claimed she was prostituting but didn't care enough about the child's well-being to call child protective service right when they saw it! it wasn't until they got into an argument and moved out that all of the sudden they care so much about the child and calling Child Protective Service, I feel like they just used Child Protective Service as a way to get back at the defendant for things that they were mad about.
You are exactly right. They justify it in their head by saying it was for the good of the children, but it was only for retaliation. If there was an issue, the defendant still would not have her children and the plaintiff should have called them right away or at least spoke to the defendant regarding her extra-curricular activities.

$550 per month for 1 room needed to be adjusted for a family of 4. Shame of it all. Clearly- they didn't judge. Shame on her for calling DYFS and jeopardizing these children's welfare. If she was that concerned she wouldn't have waited until she left- it appears that she was being vindictive. SOMEONE asks you to pay to play and your husband doesn't confront them.
Let's keep having babies. That'll make it all better.
Apparently she did need to call DYFS because now she has a worker .
If they get there and you need any assistance like finding a job and daycare they will sometimes get assigned a case worker to be referred to programs.
Not necessarily, they have to do an investigation and that can last up to 60 days.

Well of course she said you can get out if she doesn’t like it. How can you try to put your morals on her while renting a room in her house . What if she approached her about her finances and said “I don’t want MY daughter to see an adult who has to rent a room in someone else’s house.” She would have said well you the one who needs the financial help and been offended. So funny to watch as people do things they wouldn’t accept in return and don’t even see it

That couple is crazy. Having kids and you rent a room.
If the kids weren't involved, she would be free to do whatever she wants in her house, but the kids come first, and if true, it's absolutely unsafe with all the child abusers out there, you can't have random men in front of kids. So hopefully, the plaintiff was lying, and those kids were not exposed to that toxic environment.
