Instead of pushing on a table wouldn't it be better to use a bungee or rubber strap anchored up high to pull down on to place the proper muscles under load and then lean forward.....this way one can place greater load on the arm

I had a bad impingement. A prior video by B&B helped me self diagnose and successfully self treat. A year later, my bad habits are seeing the symptoms creep back. I'm back to my exercises and already improving. No drugs, no surgery.

@@BobandBrad I watched the video that shows you how to diagnose if it's a shoulder impingement or rotorcuff issue. There was only one of the tests I could not do without pain which was the 1 where you put your hand behind your back so does that still mean I would have a rotor cuff issue? Now I have pain in my tricep area do you guys have any videos that would show what your arm would feel like or how to diagnose a tear in error in your tricep muscle or tendon because honestly that is what I think I have an issue with but the Doctor I'm dealing with Just wants to jump to rotor cuff issue just because I cannot put my arm behind my back without pain all the other parts of the test I pass and she's just dismissing the issue I have with the pain in my tricep area

Took me a year to figure out what my shoulder problem was after over-doing my bench pressing a year ago. Think I tore my rotator cuff but that healed wrong way and the result is shoulder Impingement.. Yea, that's gotta be it. I like your first exercise where you stand in front of a chair, push down hard with the injured shoulder's hand, and walk backwards 2-3 short steps while maintaining pressure and stretching that guy out. Immediate relief. I do the doorway one two. THANK YOU!

It's a bad look for a tai chi teacher lol I just did the one where I press into my desk and stretch backwards, I felt something pop and now there's less pain. I dunno if it's fixed completely, it's hard to tell coz I got a covid booster in that shoulder yesterday which is very sore today, but I think it's made a big difference. Cheers fellas ^_^

I've been grabbing ahold of my sink rim at the countertop in the bathroom, till my spine is straight and legs are at a 90 degree angle or parallel to the counter and arms are parallel to the countertop. It feels great. For the "child's pose" pushing down into the mat, I just did this on a carpeted floor (then, you mentioned that!) - I can see how the push down is really important and I can hear little cracklings as I'm almost down to the floor stretch at the end. I didn't have a broom handle, but the dyson stick vacuum (the long stick between the brush head and the actual vacuum part) worked just as well, and was very similar thickness to Booyah Stik Brad was using. Since the stick has a satin finish, my hand didn't slip, and it's very lightweight for me to hold.

While this video is great I need one (for almost all year already) about pain at the opposite place: pain in the back part of the armpit whenever I rise my arm to about 90 degrees as shown by Brad or sometimes even when I'm putting my hand down on a table/railing to brace myself while bending down. Nowhere could I find any exercises to help relieve the pain/resolve that issue. It would just be splendid if you guys could make that a topic. There's also nothing about it on your channel either from all I've seen (nobody has anything on it it seems).
For example - the hanging exercise shown first... I can't do that. Actually, when I saw it on your channel first over a year ago I did and I think this was even the first time I've felt the pain. It's mostly not there without any strain but with strain on the arm it hurts in the arm pit.

I've had the mother of all shoulder injuries - chronic dislocation. Open Bankart repair + orthoscopic surgery on the same day to fix the joint. 23 years later at 42 I'm having premature arthritis in that shoulder. Take every shoulder injury you ever had, add up the trauma, multiply the magnitude by ten, then let someone shoot your shoulder at point blank with a 12 gauge shot gun. That's my world and the world of anyone who's had muliple shoulder dislocations. It takes a completely different set of protocols to work with than everyone else. I so often wish I had something as trivial as a fly that lands on your knee and then flies away, ie. a rotator cuff tear. I'd rather cut my d**k off than go through a shoulder dislocation again.

I've been dealing with shoulder impingement for over three months. After watching countless videos on exercises and stretches on RUclips and diligently following them with perseverance, I feel like for every step forward, I take one step back.
While these exercises offer immediate relief-let’s be honest, ‘immediate’ really means ‘temporary’-I’ve only experienced slight improvement overall. My question is: HAS ANYONE OF YOU EVER COMPLETELY HEALED FROM SHOULDER IMPINEGEMENT ONCE AND FOR ALL???
If you have, please share your experience and story in the comments. I’m feeling frustrated and desperate, and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Don't do things that make the pain worse or cause a different kind of pain. You may not be ready for the exercises.

My shoulder feels as though it pinches in certain positions. It causes a dead arm feeling which is pretty painful and my arm just feels numb. What is causing this? My physio has done several tests for nerve damage and i had no pain from any of those. The stick exercise (the first one), for me, made it worse.

I'm not following. If the tendon is getting pinched when the arm is raised, how are the first 2 exercises helpful? I tried and immediately feel pain...because my arm is raised.

@BobandBrad When should a person NOT do these exercises, especially the hanging exercise? I love Bob's version of the chicken wing exercise!! Thanks

Hyper extension is what causes incredible pain and shocks the muscles which shocks the system and you get sick.
