I've seen quite a few chiropractor and physicals therapist in my life just recently I did something I shouldn't do and injure my only good shoulder and the pain was unbearable and I am not a good believer in pain medication and I am so glad that God put this two Dr.'s in my way I've been doing some of the exercises every day in the morning and night with the tens unit and ice and now I am looking forward to kayaking and do the water sport I love with out pain. Thank you Bob and Brad and keep up the good work.

I did the hanging from a chin up bar a year ago as one of your videos said. I did it slowly and built up the hanging time. My shoulder impingement is now gone and i have no shoulder pain

Did you ever get a clicking or popping sound in the back of your shoulder? I think my tendon on my rear shoulder muscle may be rubbing against my shoulder bone from poor posture. I've been trying the dead hang for about a week now.
I had to stop doing pull ups for a few months because I was doing them wrong and it seemed to have hurt my shoulder. My shoulder got better after laying off the pull ups for a few months, but I still get this weird clicking if I bend down to pick something up.
A year ago I took x-ray and the doctor says I have osteopenia. They didn't say anything was wrong with the shoulder. I've since then gained weight in hopes the osteopenia will go away since I was underweight.

The very best therapist. They tutorials self assisted and guided assessments have been very perfect for my finding solutions to my muscle pain which I thought was broken ribs. There was nothing broken confirmed by xrays but non treatments or medicine could resolve my muscles pain.
So I turned to u guys and I want the world to know that your therapies were able to help reduce pain and self manage my sciatic pain problem which shifted from one side to the other. That led me to figure that piriforms syndrome was a factor affecting my left femoral muscles. I did your test to prove that I could not lift left leg. I then followed your routine to warm massage and the response was so immediate and continue the rest of routine. I coukd not walk but now I can and I owe it to u.
All same as I was overly compromised I had other pain on my ribs stopping from breathing coughing or sneezing under my arms. I had to grab my chest to engage in all these to a point that I could not sit up in bed without assistance.
I then went step by step following each therapy session to heal me. As I speak most parts are healing no more need to grab my chest to cough.
As I speak I am now working on resolving pain on my arms and strangely after doing the smallest massage of my upper shoulders the pain reducing from 10 to 2. Am so amazed how physical therapy can heal us without medication.
I was in a cocktail of meditation pain killers that did nothing but sedate me and diid not stop my movement pain at any point.
So don't do this but this what I did.
I stopped all of them and only used diazepam to relax muscles and physical exercises. With only that I have recovered from 10 to 3 in general with some bad days of going down to 5.
In general at 10 I was now in bed 24 hrs dosed and exhausted, but with physical therapy I can honestly say I have improved to be more functional at 3 as daily tolerance state.
I have also gone back to key Meds after I proved that physic has improved and continue to use your guidance.
I encourage everyone sick to try these to help themselves even if bed bound do something small. Sleeping is easy by can be exhausting and depressing. I did most of my healing while bed bound and only when I improved now I can do some of the advised exercise to suite my own tolerance.
I don't know these therapist but I believe they are the best and I have healed better taking medicines. The two are complementary. Always stop and think physical health along side medication.
Medication are good forl long term conditions but leave u dependant and with side effects. Physical treatment teach u to heal yourself it's like exercise no sweat no gain.

I have shoulder pain from weight lifting, fitness. I have pain doing chest press and internal rotation of shoulder reaching the other shoulder. Also pain when rising my arm for shoulder impingement test. Moreover, I feel pain in my long head brachii which is said to be developed from shoulder impingment. I have been watching several videos first to find my problem, which looks like to be shoulder impingement, and how to fix it. My pain felt so good doing the last exercise and I wanted to share this right now that I tried it while watching it. Thanks to these good fellas which are the most well known physical therapists on the internet.
    Be safe and healthy.

They always say to use your good arm to work the bad one. Neither arm is great at the moment. I had shoulder replacement and I have pain from impingement but the other arm is total arthritis. But that shoulder is frozen. I can’t feel pain but I can’t use the arm for anything heavy. Their exercises and stretches are helping a lot!

I had to get physical therapy which didn’t work ( wrong exercises) then I had steroids injected to my spine. I am due for another shot but pandemic delayed everything. I’m just now starting to hang 12 years later and I can feel it healing. I’ve been hanging for 9 weeks so far. It still hurts when I play catch over 30 yards. Another Awesome Video. I had shoulder impingement surgery on one side of me, because I had pain radiating from the shoulder, and down the arm. On the other side, I had almost the same kind of pain, but it was caused by my neck C-6 and C-7. I'd just like to add that if physical therapy doesn't work, or makes it worse, go to the appropriate doctor, have x-rays, and a MRI done, to find out what exactly is wrong.

I have had shoulder impingement for a long time, what helped me most was traction, when my sessions were over, I used a small pillow (log shaped for lack of a better word), and, lying down, placed it under my neck, I let my head

I am seeing a EMG in 2 weeks because of 8 weeks of sleep interuption from arm/shoulder pain. My PCP worked me with Osteopathic session on my arm and shoulder and wow he found all the sensitive areas. But I am scared to see the EMG an hour away from where I live and you can bet I will be trying out Bob and Brads suggestions hopefully I can get relief. I thought my Mattress was the issue. it’s only 8 years old Temperpedic firm Queen with a 20 year warranty. But I moved to the middle of the bed and no relief. But I have some guidance thank you guys and love learning all the time! I think the human body is AMAZING and love learning as much as I can.

If your arm is weak from the stroke, you could be getting pain from your shoulder subluxing. In that case please don't stretch it or pull on it.

    • @dianapopova3099
      @dianapopova3099 3 года назад +2

@@dannythomson5239 Try not to let it dangle. If you are sitting on a chair, try to put your arm on the table. Or sit on the couch with some pillows supporting your arm under the elbow. Also when you are sleeping on your back, support your arm with pillows under the elbow and forearm so it doesn't pull on your shoulder. if your arm dangles while you are walking, look into getting a sling to support it. There is a special sling that was developed for people with flaccid/weak arms to help prevent subluxation, called a Givmohr sling, it provides great support and is not noticeable like a typical shoulder sling. I believe it is cheaper on their webside, but check amazon as well. Hope something helps you!

My issues isn't up and down motion. I have no problem raising my right arm going up and down or sideways. It's anytime I have to bent my right elbow motion that I have pain my shoulder.. I can't scratch my back ,putting on jeans is painful when I get up my waist, it kills me putting on my seat belt in the car when I'm driving that range of motion. I can't even get my arm to go where you said in the back most people can put their arm to do that back pole motion pull for exercise 3 & 4. Also sleeping is a killer no matter what I do. I wake up at least 3 times a night. Of course it had to be my right arm since I am right handed. Don't know if you'll respond but what can I do to start when it's pretty bad? My health care provider has not done too much PT since covid. Then do online but their cameras are horrible and I can't see what they are doing.

I also get excruciating pain with a quick movement such as throwing my arm up in the air, or if this happens accidentally when falling, twisting, or jumping. It feels like impingement, and the orthopedic doctor thought so as well. I had a cortisone shot, and have been doing these exercises. However, I still have some pain and limitation, especially when my arms gets jerked, and hanging is extremely painful and intolerable. Thoughts??

Second time you guys have changed my life. Thank you for this. I've been to the doctors 3 times and had a difficult time explaining when and where I was having trouble.
When you tell them it hurts sometimes when I reach out to pick something up or sometimes when I lift my arm over my head but it feels better when I lie down to have my arm over my head but then it hurts like crazy when I put my arm down......
They look at me like I'm nuts.
Could this also make the front of your arm hurt or cause pain in the elbow?
I have spinal stenosis and have had surgery on my lower back once and my neck twice.
I also have pain on the front of my legs, like my lap when I sit down....

In my experience, most doctors don't have the specific training to diagnose joint pain. Get a referral to a physical therapist. They will run you through a series of movements that will reproduce and diagnose your pain, even over video conference. I like these videos to get different exercise ideas but they're no substitute for qualified medical advice.

Hey Bob and Brad. I've had a superspinatus shoulder impingement for a year now - got from doing too much lockdown yoga (and working from the couch, apparently).
At this chronic stage, I'm wondering if swimming is a good or bad thing to do - being in the sea was definitely good for it last summer, but I was only doing a little bit. Would swimming laps be likely to hurt it more?
