"The redemption arc [Isabella] deserves." Isabella is the ultimate villain-victim. I love her, unconditionally, because she tried so hard to make the best of an absolutely evil situation. I dare not--DARE not--claim that I could have done any better in her situation, that I am in any way better than she is. She challenges all of us to live up to Matthew 5:44, "Love your enemies...and pray for them". She stands in marked contrast with Sister Krone, who is far more self-interested, and more than a little crazed. Neverland presents a fascinating, if dark, contrast with my favorite anime of all time, Haibane Renmei, which also concerns children living in a walled community, who face an unknown future. I think a semester course could be presented exploring and contrasting these two brilliant works.
@The Professor Matt 5:44 is the most powerful single statement I know of directing us to be tolerant. It's a hard teaching. Are you saying it's wrong, that tolerance is in fact bad? Does5:44 invalidate everything you did agree with? Should we not attempt to wish our enemies to be enlightened? Or is killing them the only way to respond to those we disagree with? What would that say about how I should regard you? Do you not realize that OF COURSE the disciples were human beings and therefore fallen sinners themselves? Christ himself says that Peter is the rock he will found his church on, and then a few verses later tells Peter, "Get behind me Satan". "Not about religion, at least the way you say?" What way is that? "Those cunts"--does that mean that you believe anyone with a cunt is unworthy of love? C'mon, ante up or fold.
@The Professor You disgust me. If people feel like something relates to their religion, they have EVERY right to bring it up, regardless if the anime has anything to do with religion or not. Its not them that's the problem, its you.
When she cried for Leslie, I broke down and thought "Did she know?" Did she know her friend was gonna get eaten in some minutes, did she know that she will never see him again or that he was going to die without even knowing? This broke me. Also her face when Ray started singing the song... These are all the reasons why I love Isabella and wish her the best
SPOILER WARNING Isabella risked her life for emma. In the manga, Emma is about to get caught by the demon , but isabella comes in and gets stabbed by those demon nails. And then isabella dies there. And her last words are. "Ray...Im sorry. Take care of everyone...... Give me a little bit more strenght... Please... please, just once.. just ONCE MORE.... Give me the strenght.. I love you all.. Go have fun.." And all of the kids hug her while she dies...
I love Isabella so much. She's my second favorite villain and my second favorite female character of all time. I feel like nobody tries to understand her. She did horrible things, that's true. But she did that because she had no other choice. She is a broken woman. She's tragic and beautifully written. What a underrated character.
She's my favorite character tbh, from her heart wrenching backstory to the meaning that ever move she made had, she's all around a really well written character and you can't help but like her by the end of the series
I knew from the beginning she wasn't exactly a villain. Isabella was just a loving mother who didn't have a choice. The lullaby Leslie sung for Isabella, she usually hummed it whenever a child was being shipped out. If you listen to the lyrics, you'll notice that she hums it because she is hopeful, hoping she would see them on the other side whenever she is no longer around. She never intended on doing something like this, but she had no choice. She wanted to live on, to live the life Leslie and her couldn't have. She never really was a villain, in my eyes.
This isn’t a very popular choice of favorites but Isabella was my favorite TPN character from the very beginning. Seeing how kind she was to the children and that one moment she held Conny’s picture to her chest and the fact that she hums that beautiful song to stop her from crying. And people say she’s a villain, I say she’s a mother, a person who’s been through some things. And there’s so many more reasons and you can’t change my mind about her being my number one favorite character in TPN and the anime world.
i liked her from the start to be honest. i always felt that there was something within her that would show who she really was, and it did. her character may not be likable in the beginning of the show but i’m really glad i gave her a chance. seeing her come into play with her human self at the end was so beautiful. i liked that she let the children go and told them to be safe and felt for them. and told phill they were okay :)
I feel she genuinely loved and cared for her children, that's why she was able to raise the "best products". She wanted to give her children as good of a life as they can have before they were sent off, but she couldn't let herself grow too attached to them. She suppressed all her human emotions to adapt to the world she lives in now. I don't think she's the villain. She's just another victim of the demon's world.
And the worst part is the demons could have been free from humans years ago but the demon in charge didn't want change. They had power only because they got the best food to keep them strong but if everyone didn't need they would have no power.
She's the demon She's the angel Isabella just a little girl This lady just a human And she is the MOTHER her life is totally tragic, but in the end she found her light.
@@keirahvillamor7713 spoiler warning I agree with you however the demons do not have to eat children to survive just to gain intelligence so the demons are the true villains as they eat children to to keep their human form and intelligence when they can eat human food because they do
@@sitrussage bro, if demons didn't had to eat humans then they would lose themselves and become a mindless monster. Losing yourself and your true form is just like dying. So yes, They still do need humans for their intelligence to avoid becoming mindless, That is just like us humans with oxygen and air.
Fact : Isabella is also one of the best/smartest child in her region, she realized the truth by herself, chosen to be a mother and her section got the best result in the entire farm, and easily beaten sister Krone. Another prove is her son Ray also inherited her intelligence.
My favorite in The Promised Neverland,Isabella. When I watched that last episode,I saw the children escaping and Isabella trying to stop them but when she saw them she gave up. Like she said “Give up and accept.” and she did. She knew what’s going on and she knew what the pain feels,She doesn’t want any of her children get a scratch or hurt. But she did hurt Emma because she doesn’t want to die but live,She wanted to survive and live long but to survive and live long she must be a mom. I know she doesn’t want to cause she will hurt children too in the past but she had to accept it. She had to give birth to survive. I know she’s a villain but it’s sad that she had to see the kids getting shipped out and and get killed including her friend to go now. But all what she did is to become a mom to live and survive.
The fact she kept the toys to remember them shows that she genuinely did love them. She tried to escape only to find the cliff, she thought they weren’t gonna be able to escape so she tried to give them the best life possible, but once she saw them escape she gave up, wishing them well. All she wanted was to survive, even if it meant lying to the children.
I cried while watching this....All she wanted is as much as a life she could give her kids....she was happy when they escaped....they did something she wanted to do a long time ago....honestly....Isabella is my favorite....also she looks so beautiful with her hair down..!
I cried more to this character than to any other, her story is just so tragic and she's just pinned to what she was doing. She truly loves every child, she doesn't have a choice because she's tied with it, she doesn't want any of her child to suffer. OMFG ISABELLAAAAAAAAAAAA😭 Also her reaction to Conny's drawing in EP1 was genuine, i can't...
This story has evoked so many feelings in me. Now that I watched this, she knew his friend died to a monster. I love the scene when Ray was revealed as Isabella's son. I mean- This is why I love Ray. He has so much character, so much backstory. Beautiful review, absolutely stunning anime
Isabella picked what she genuinely believed to be the best possible action. If she dies nothing changes, she also didnt have any reason to believe they could survive outside. So she can either raise the kids with as much love as she can, or she can die and someone else will do it
The reason i clicked on this video was this very reason. Isabella was the real tragedy of this story. I could just tell she wasn't evil, but she really had me on the edge of the seat. The last scenes of ep 12 made it up for me. Her story was one of the ones i was waiting for, why? why do that to innocent children i couldn't get it but after those scenes i did. I normally never like villains like actually never, I never get attached if they're villains then its a no for me. But Isabella changed that all.
I don’t even watch anime. But I listened to the lullaby and It pulled me to watch it. I really like it and now I’m more willing to watch different anime’s. I guess trying new things that originally seem kinda odd won’t always turn out to be so terrible.
I love Isabella she's my fav character, the true is that she had no other choice if she chosed to not be a mother she would just die meaningless and everything would u just be the same, but if she becomes a mother she can at least give all the live and happiness to her children before their moment arrive, she can give them the happiest life and that's what she wanted
I feel like isabella is like me she has to make choices and those choices she regrets but its worth it at times shes loving ,she hides her true emotions because she doesn't want people to see her cry and broken down she wants people to be happy.
Yes for me Isabella is my best villain and i keep watching Ep12 and cry about that tragic story but sadly Isabella didnt survive at the demons fatal attack and she die 😢😢 I used her lullaby 🎶 to sleep well
humming Leslies and Isabella’s lullaby weebs kno how am I supposed to know they will spoil the manga? They should put a warning because it’s not my fault either
humming Leslies and Isabella’s lullaby weebs kno I never said it was your fault though? I meant it as “it isn’t the persons fault for commenting this but it isn’t my fault either that I saw this” I either explained myself wrong or you just didn’t read it right
All she wanted to was caring all the children. She felt the same thing as the children. She had to have children for her to survive. She isn't the villain. She is a caring human being.
To make it even greater, Ray told us from the middle of the anime that he had memories from from when he was really small so he heard that song before he was born. That is how he knows it
Emma: the one who decides the choices Norman: the one who gave more choices Ray: the one who helps with the choices Don: the one who wanted more choices Gilda: the one who tried to pick a choice Krone: the one who wanted a choice Isabella: the one who never had a choice Phil: the one who understood accepted the choice "Mama, why did you give birth to me?" -Ray "Well, Ray... Im pretty sure they don't make babies out of nowhere they had impregnate someone to produce baby but i think it is artificial insemination just like how cows are impregnated in the farms. I'm also pretty sure that some mom's whi have failed in training forced to have babies for demons to eat.

“I just wish I could love them normally” :(((((((((((
"The redemption arc [Isabella] deserves." Isabella is the ultimate villain-victim.
Wow. Very well said!
I honestly always loved isabella. It wasn't her fault. She was once an innocent child like the rest of them.
SPOILER WARNING
Isabella risked her life for emma.
*crying*
@FrostDoesStuff yep, she saw the reality when grandmother was traded in Ray's place. She just loved the kids more than her need for survival.

TPN Ending Spoiler:
AND THEN FUCKING EMMA FORGOT ABOUT HER ALONG WITH YUUGO AND LUCAS
Fun fact: Isabella sings her lullaby when a child dies because she can't cry in front of them🌹
I know sad right? 🥀
I love Isabella so much. She's my second favorite villain and my second favorite female character of all time. I feel like nobody tries to understand her. She did horrible things, that's true. But she did that because she had no other choice. She is a broken woman. She's tragic and beautifully written. What a underrated character.
I'm crying so much😭😭😭😭Everytime I hear the song, I start crying. I feel so bad for Isabella so much🤧🤧🤧🤧
ME TOO!!!
The song is isabellas lullaby
"I wish I could have just loved them normally"
A true mother, A real mother caring for her children in the end.
**speechless**
she wasn’t a villian, I feel like she was just sad.

3:17 i agree with what you say about her “living.” I’d say she was “surviving,” as living and surviving are two completely different things.
i liked her from the start to be honest. i always felt that there was something within her that would show who she really was, and it did. her character may not be likable in the beginning of the show but i’m really glad i gave her a chance. seeing her come into play with her human self at the end was so beautiful. i liked that she let the children go and told them to be safe and felt for them. and told phill they were okay :)
Me: *Watches whole season*
Isabella: *Shows long pretty hair*
Me: aaaannnd I SIMP.
She's the demon
She's the angel
Isabella just a little girl
This lady just a human
And she is the MOTHER
her life is totally tragic, but in the end she found her light.
"The true villains are the demons."
@@keirahvillamor7713 spoiler warning
I agree with you however the demons do not have to eat children to survive just to gain intelligence so the demons are the true villains as they eat children to to keep their human form and intelligence when they can eat human food because they do
@@sitrussage bro, if demons didn't had to eat humans then they would lose themselves and become a mindless monster. Losing yourself and your true form is just like dying. So yes, They still do need humans for their intelligence to avoid becoming mindless, That is just like us humans with oxygen and air.
Whos isabellas husband,?
In episode 12 I was like “omg, is she gonna jump” and I was happy she didn’t
Can we Just appreciate how adorable Isabella looks with her hair down- like fr-
I actually started crying when I saw her past like it's so sad. And Isabellas song it's beautiful I love it
Fact : Isabella is also one of the best/smartest child in her region, she realized the truth by herself, chosen to be a mother and her section got the best result in the entire farm, and easily beaten sister Krone.
I just realized what she meant when she said I met u to Norman it means she thinks he’s like Leslie 😭😖my heart-
The fact she kept the toys to remember them shows that she genuinely did love them.
Isabella isn't a bad guy she was just forced and broken. She cared for those children. That's just so sad...
Ok but ngl Isabella look so beautiful when she let her hair out it's make me cry 😭
Isabelle was the only reason why the kids and everyone in grace feild left to the human world
I cried more to this character than to any other, her story is just so tragic and she's just pinned to what she was doing. She truly loves every child, she doesn't have a choice because she's tied with it, she doesn't want any of her child to suffer. OMFG ISABELLAAAAAAAAAAAA😭
Also her reaction to Conny's drawing in EP1 was genuine, i can't...
Am i the only one who realized that isabella's lullaby is playing on the background?
YOU DESCRIBED THIS SO WELL THAT I GOT LITERAL CHILLS
This story has evoked so many feelings in me. Now that I watched this, she knew his friend died to a monster. I love the scene when Ray was revealed as Isabella's son. I mean- This is why I love Ray. He has so much character, so much backstory. Beautiful review, absolutely stunning anime
Isabella picked what she genuinely believed to be the best possible action. If she dies nothing changes, she also didnt have any reason to believe they could survive outside. So she can either raise the kids with as much love as she can, or she can die and someone else will do it
This is why i love her character-
The reason i clicked on this video was this very reason.
I honestly think she’s not a villain at all...
She only wanted to be a mother
She’s human too,
She just wants...
To be happy.
4:11
This made me cry, that she truly love her children.....and the bad things she did is not on her control because she had no choice.. 😭😭
I've been reading the Manga and she is actually really relatable it was either be meat or serve meat
I don’t even watch anime. But I listened to the lullaby and It pulled me to watch it. I really like it and now I’m more willing to watch different anime’s.
I guess trying new things that originally seem kinda odd won’t always turn out to be so terrible.
she is indeed a very deep character, the complexity of her personality is absaloutely fascinating...
“Gave me mixed feelings about her”
Boi I hated her, But the same time know that I would ask her to marry me
Wow 😂
Isabella is an amazing character in different ways. And the people that hate her will eventually love her.

I love Isabella she's my fav character, the true is that she had no other choice if she chosed to not be a mother she would just die meaningless and everything would u just be the same, but if she becomes a mother she can at least give all the live and happiness to her children before their moment arrive, she can give them the happiest life and that's what she wanted
damn it how could i hate isabella after this scene
I feel like isabella is like me she has to make choices and those choices she regrets but its worth it at times shes loving ,she hides her true emotions because she doesn't want people to see her cry and broken down she wants people to be happy.
Yes for me Isabella is my best villain and i keep watching Ep12 and cry about that tragic story but sadly Isabella didnt survive at the demons fatal attack and she die 😢😢

She’s my favorite “Villian”🥺
Also in my opinion, she wasn’t really a villian, she was mostly controlled.
All she wanted to was caring all the children. She felt the same thing as the children. She had to have children for her to survive. She isn't the villain. She is a caring human being.
This video gave me chills for almost 5 mins.. I’m still tingling
this is really sad
And then is season 2 she turned evil again :,)
To make it even greater, Ray told us from the middle of the anime that he had memories from from when he was really small so he heard that song before he was born. That is how he knows it

Norman: the one who gave more choices
Ray: the one who helps with the choices
Don: the one who wanted more choices
Gilda: the one who tried to pick a choice

anyone notice Isabella's beautiful lullaby in the background music? its the best lullaby ever
I'm listening to it xD (I love it)
I always cry like hell whenever i hear that lullaby 😢😂
You have no right to make me cry like this
When i saw the manga backstory, i cried more than i cried when koro Sensei died
The song captures sadness, happiness, childhood memories and fear all in one such a beautiful song
So who’s the father of the child I’m confused?
we're waiting for season 2. Nobody's sure if it was either forced into her or if there are boys that live to serve that purpose.
Pancakes Forever ohhh I thought the father was her childhood friend but I guess not..

Im pretty sure they don't make babies out of nowhere they had impregnate someone to produce baby but i think it is artificial insemination just like how cows are impregnated in the farms. I'm also pretty sure that some mom's whi have failed in training forced to have babies for demons to eat.
