  • The Eggerbahn Western locomotive was a caricature based on the standard 1960s steam locomotive chassis and body. It was fitted with an outrageous chimney and cowcatcher and a four-wheel tender. Had they decided to turn it into a Forney tank engine, it had been more effective.
I restored the wreck of one by adapting and fitting a Minitrix 0-6-0 chassis. The original plastic chassis was lost, but most of these are useless anyway. The Minitrix chassis block needed some surgery, but after a while it fitted nicely. The chassis worked all right until there was a problem with the drive axle. After replacement it ran quite well again. Some detail parts were supplied by Ruud Wittekoek: the cowcatcher, the cylinder block and the connecting rods.

Good work Ted. Runs smooth and fairly quiet. Layout is looking good as well..

Nice. I wonder about the Chassis. Mine is a 0-4-0... but iI like your version. Is your Chassis biger than the Rocco 0-6-0?

I'm not sure about the size of the Roco chassis. But the Minitrix one had to be cut down considerably.
