My favourites are Miso and Kefir. I am making my own kefir with kefir grains, because I heard that supermarket kefir is made from powder starter which doesnt have all that good bacteria.
I love kimchi and try to eat it least once a day. The most notable benefit is that it helps me sleep. I've been doing a keto diet for going on 2 months now and the first few weeks of it I was having these sleep disturbances. Turns out eating cheese and meat as my only source of nutrients for three weeks isn't the best for you. Who knew? Lol. So after watching some youtube health videos I figured out the sleep disturbances could be in large part due to poor gut health. Particularly because serotonin is primarily made in the gut. So I went down to my local asian market, got a one and a half kilo jar of kimchi and presto! I was back to sleeping my full 8 hours, undisturbed.
That's a really good question. It's important to buy sauerkraut or kimchi from the refrigerated section as they still have all the probiotics. If you get one that's non-refrigerated they've normally been pasteurised and don't have any probiotics left.
I would suggest trying with fermented foods to start. Try to be consistent with eating fermented foods you enjoy, but you can always try probiotics as well.
Just bought some organic sauerkraut made in New Zealand. Delicious ❤
Fermenting the black tea grounds in the kombucha gives you theabrownin

I’m off to buy some sauerkraut. Are all “supermarket” sauerkrauts probiotic or have some been sterilised or something?

interesting
What would you suggest in terms of probiotics for someone who has been on a course of antibiotics?
