@nate0 I was shooting for a 2:1 ratio with 4 18’s, and the u’s I plan too use are .25 displacement, 5:1 fml, but I also want a lil space in the back for tent, dirt bike gear ect, ect,... 😂 Also it helps they only need 4 cubes per sub👍👍
@nate0 I would be jealous for sure, but I think 🤔 he’d need a bigger sealed section, I could be wrong but I think he said around 11 cubes sealed.... In response to the team series🤙

Try four audiopipe quad stack 18inch subs

Given the volume, you can easily turn that into a 6th order... basically put a huge 12" port in between the 18" subs. You can tune it easily by trimming or lengthening and if you don't like it you can always plug it at turn it back to a 4th. The 6th order should give you an easy 3-6dB gain compared to the 4th around the tuning of the low port. In your case it will be a series-tuned 6th and the ratios are great as you have them as series tuned enclosures like a small rear section (low tuned) compared to the high tuned front (which is usually larger).
Jacob don't care about acoustic's he will only do 4th order to get as load as possible.
That’s a great idea for people thanks for suggesting! I personally prefer the louder top end response of a big ratio 4th over a 6th.

You did a specific cutout of 16.75. Exactly what a skar evl 18 is. Those are in your price range and wattage range. I think you’ve already picked out a sub.

@@JacobViral I have built a lot sub boxes in my life. 100’s. Maybe a thousand. Wood, fiberglass, plexiglass. You NEED some sort of adhesive or glue anyplace, I repeat anyplace 2 pieces of wood touch each other. Screws will break, and everything will rattle like crazy. If a sub box is built properly you should be able to take out every single screw when you’re done and the box should hold up no problems at all. All the screws are for is to hold everything in place while the adhesive or glue dries. That’s really the only thing I’m seeing that you’re doing wrong. I don’t know where you live. But I have a really nice shop and as I said I have a ton of experience building speaker boxes. I’d love to get together with you sometime and do a full build into some thing.

Good content Jacob! Also for my suggestion, go with B2 Rage or if you got a little bit more to spend, Rage XL 18's!

I did forget that. The HDs are nice for the price. I am running 4 XFL 15s on a DC Audio 5.0K right now in my HHR. I just bought a 2nd amp and a 90ah Cmax. I’m going to do my roof in wood. So thanks to your videos that you did when you did your roof!

I would have said avatar but there a little pricey but always room to upgrade power and send them rather then being at max potential from the get go and have to swap subs just an idea

U should try some Soundqubed hdx3 18s or hdx4s I had 4 hdx3 15s on a 17k at .5ohm taking abuse 164s in kick 160s on glass flat wall a while back

Those would do well for lows.
Shouldn't you have selected subs before you built the enclosure? Airspace specs vary so much from sub to sub as well as sub cutout depending on the size of their basket. I'm sure it's gonna be beast mode but no way I would go through all that work not knowing which drivers I'd be using first.
I cut the hole size to generic 18” most fit and can always adjust the sealed section as need be so should work great.

Jacob a triple baffle is plenty for any system unless you're out there doing numbers like the Butler guy and I think it's Craig Butler or whatever his name is and he's in the 180s trying to Crack Concrete and Bend Steel though spending an absolute Fortune also on a build that a person can't set inside of anyway, unless they have a death wish... I'm sure whatever Subs you go with, they will be good stuff and definitely pull numbers

Have you thought about using WinIsd to model different subs to see what would work best for the space and power you have available. It would save you some time and guess work.
Never used a program as real world trial and error works best for me personally.

Jacob I knew you were going to a little more cone area with the 18s because you had the success with the four 15-in Subs and now you're looking for a much lower RMS rated sub to use four of those and I'm assuming you're running just the one large amp you have now currently and if that's the case then you might as well go with your sponsored subwoofers that are the Cadence Subs but honestly my favorite sub out there to date is still the Crossfire brand and I'm not sure if their budget friendly enough or going to be RMS rated along with budget friendly enough for you to go that route but the Cadence sub review you did a couple of weeks ago was a nice review and that was a beefy built subwoofer and I was curious to it and knowing what maybe it could do in a larger system with good clean name brand power running it
Sadly cadence doesn’t have 18” subs for what I need but good option thanks and your right.!

Nice Jason and thanks for watching! I would always suggest atleast a 2:1 ratio so go with say 5 sealed, 10 ported NET or even little bigger for both to start big and shrink if need.

Booooo 👎 6 18’s would react better in that amount of air volume, have more motor force, and have more cone area. But oh well, ain’t my build. I would go with Pride Audio Tv.3 18’s if I were you. Under $1000 each and look at the T/S parameters, you’ll be amazed.
