Our choir sang this about two months ago...and I had tears streaming down my cheeks as I received the Eucharist...I was so moved by the song. And I wanted to know the title then but wasn't able to learn of it before I left service...then God...reminding me...little o'le me...of his Great Love...had our choir sing it again today...and I knew He wanted me to hear and remember this song. And this version (as there are many) is the precise version my church choir sings at Mass....thank you so much for this post! I am grateful...
This song is beautiful and always will try to make me cry tears of joy ever time I listen to it. I heavily ponder if this should be played at my funeral.
it’s funny to think that as a 15 year old i’m “supposed to be neglecting” and be “ignorant towards my religion” but in all honesty i’m so inclined to my religion and faith and this song just pushes me further❤️.
This is the most powerful, soul searching song I have ever heard, it brings me to a heigthen demension of my faith. The versus are so thought provoking,I end up in tears for a few minutes,,Amazing...

We sing it on Holy Thursday going into a darkened hall representing the olive garden where Jesus was betrayed, just the words Ubi caritas est vera, Deus ibi est, as we make our procession to the garden.
