I definitely vote for salad month. Let me be clear, I have no interest in the perfect salad. I want to see Josh have a meltdown after day 5 of Salad month.
SALAD MONTH SALAD MONTH SALAD MONTH
He'll just throw a whole Panada Express on some lettuce and pull through.
SALAD MONTH
😂
Does that include the chicken and waffles salad? That looked awesome
"Now we're going to take a bowl. It's like a plate, but deep."
The offhanded comments have me in tears every time. This is the only cooking show I watch every episode of regardless if I plan on pretending I'm going to make the food one day.
Irk? Josh was on fire today with the jokes.
TBH it took me a couple episodes to vibe with the incessant chatter… then I just enjoyed its silliness (and also realized that prob exactly what I would do, prob not as humorously, with a camera on me while cooking 🤪🙂) I wish it was more than once a week.
If I didnt see this comment right away I would have posted it myself
Ceci n'est pas une cooking show
That one got me too. 3am and my neighbors are like "what is he laughing at *now*?"
my favorite Joshism is when when he says "this is just like a (insert classic Middle Eastern/French/Spanish/Asian) dish" and then says "but without (insert every important ingredient) and with (insert whatever is in front of him)".
Could you do a series dedicated to the mythical crew members and their comfort foods? It would be cool to have them help cook the dish and explain their stories behind why that is their comfort food.
THIS IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA
This thi
Great idea!!! I’d love to see that.
this idea is so cute i’d love to see this!
I would watch the hell out of that itd be so fun
Josh is a tactical genius. He is best known for his signature tactic ”palm heel strike”. He also has a second little known tactic of ”making inappropriate comments that somehow still make it into the videos”. What a legend. Top 5 chef for sure.
I heard that he's defected to the U.S. from Turkey. But maybe that was just a dream that I had
Josh is a Mythical Entity
Top 5 chef that makes baby food. You need to go to bed and stop smoking crack
I handed out soup bouillon for Halloween one year. Not proud of it. But I am.
@@americannightmare2109 Smoking crack is the only way I can watch Mythical Kitchen though
I laughed about salad month until I realized how many different salads there are and could be. It's potentially as diverse as pizza types.
Because pizza IS a salad.
A crouton!
[being dragged away]
THE BASE IS A CROUTON
@@ADHDad So you're saying a pizza with onions is some sort of dehydrated upside-down french onion soup? Interesting... Pizza really is anything.
Salads can be cold or hot, any kind of protein or veg, sweet or savory… It really is limitless
Salad is nearly a perfect meal - it's as healthy or unhealthy as you want it to be, especially if you get pretty broad with how you define "salad."
I laughed because I remember how well the salad went with "me and Trevor have somehow become covered in the sticky "
It’s now in my head canon that Josh made this episode specifically so he could eat Nicole’s leftover lunch.
Burrito Month
A very versatile food that can range from dirt cheap to expense, simple to extravagant, and they're good all times of the day. I'd love to see vegan/vegetarian versions, some breakfast burritos, a dessert burrito and maybe some almost offensive fusion burrito.
"Hash: the official breakfast of divorced dads trying their best." I cannot
I was watching this while eating my breakfast hash this morning and I just lost it
"Don't try to goy-splain it to me" 😂😂 I love the energy of this episode! So many Josh quotes
I want a series where josh, Trevor and Nicole all get hammered off screen and then have to make a dish for under x amount of $. And they compete for who made the best one
I laughed so hard when Josh said, "goy-splain"! I will definitely incorporate that into my vocabulary.
Theme Month: Pasta
Not just spaghetti, or macaroni, or lasagna. Really push the boundaries of what constitutes a pasta dish.
Hard agree
YES! Show me the giant stuffed manicotti, the spaghetti ice cream, chocolate tortellini, the crazy pasta shapes like campanelle, the reverse spaghetti meatballs! Let's go insane!
Plus Ramen, Udon, other non-Italian pastas
@@craigQuixote yeah pasta/noodles would really leave the door wide open
Inwas thinking the same thing
Honestly, I would love a culture month where you guys just cook up dishes from different cultures.
Have Josh finally cook up some of his Favorite Filipino dishes. Nicole over there can finally show her favorite Persian cuisine, and just give some love to persian cuisine.
Mainly I'm curious on how deep Josh goes with his love of filipino food.
And Trevor can showcase some exotic Idaho cuisine
This would probably bring out all the pretentious food snobs.
I love foods from different cultures, but people always have to act like they know better.
@@Chooopy As a fellow Idahoan, I'm pretty sure this episode already showcased all the Idaho cuisine.
Although, now that I think of it, it might be fun to watch them desperately trying to fill an entire month with just potato dishes.
Agreed! Let's make lumpia and fried plantains for one episode.
He did that one with chicken adobo coxinhas a bit ago, that was Brazil/Philippines fusion. And I remember him talking a lot in that one about how much he loves filipino food.
After watching Rhett and Link cook the mythical Kitcheneer’s a casserole I feel like a series on casseroles might be nice. Maybe casseroles from different cultures or fancified casseroles. I don’t if kids these days understand the logistics of a good casserole.
Maybe they could do an entire series called “Cooking Under Pressure” where they could focus on pressure cooker and even sous vide cooking. 🤷🏻♀️
Could always go wide with a "holiday foods" category, sampling iconic holiday foods across the board and variations / best ways to cook them.
Of course, there's always cookies revisited in how to make perfect imperfect cookies.
Keep up the great work as always!
Month of dumplings. Every culture has a semblance, if not an actual, version.
This
Yes, this
Dump-cember
Perfect idea!
THIS
Personally I think selecting something simple, such as Rice, would make for a wildly diverse month of dishes. These could include different types of rice, classical vs. chaos-infused recipes, breakfast through dessert, etc.
Plus I think it would give people a lot of confidence to cook a wide variety of dishes with a simple, cheap, and universally available ingredient!
This man needs a metal and not just because we have the same first name. I like your thinking. Rice month has my vote!
@@zackbrooks3855 Thanks bro! Team Zac (h/k)
@@exodusz19 anytime Zac (h/k)
I love this idea. Rice is a staple and having a whole month of recipes for this would be good.
@@zackbrooks3855 ++
I think a BBQ/Smoked meat month would be great. This is a win-win for the audience and the Mythical Kitchen staff. First, the audience gets to see delicious meats be cooked. Second, due to the "low and slow" nature of BBQ, MK staff can justify sitting outside by the smoker browsing the web on your phone as work. In addition, the staff gets to eat delicious meats because BBQ should only be done with larger cuts with the intention of feeding lots of people.
My favorite things to cook in the smoker include brisket, boston butt, chicken (whole, quarters, doesn't matter as long as it's bone in), ribs (pork or beef), and pork loin.
It could also be a good opportunity to cook half a pig. I did that with my uncle one time and that is one of my favorite memories with him. We basically didn't eat dinner with the rest of our family because we were constantly performing quality control checks on the pig. By the time it was finished we had filled up on delicious pork.
I've heard, but not experienced, that it's common in Mérida, Mexico to have one person in the neighborhood smoke an entire goat and then all the neighbors come make tacos straight off the smoker. Maybe BBQ/smoked meat month can be a way to experience American BBQ culture as well as smoked meat culture from other countries.
I’ve seen a few comments about doing a month dedicated to cultural dishes, my nomination would be to do Hungarian dishes. My great grandma was Hungarian and I loved what my grandma always called Hungarian cookies but I found out recently were called kiffles. We always had them at Christmas time and this year since my grandma is a bit older and my grandpa has passed away she said she wouldn’t be able to make them and I offered to make and bring them so she gave me the recipe.
Unironically, a salad month would be great...so many people don't know how to make a salad taste good but they absolutely can. There are already so many videos out there on making ''the perfect burger/pizza/grilled cheese'' etc
You make a great point id also love to actually see a salad month
The secret is salt (from a gm chef)
Yes!! Please do salad month!!
Yes!!!!
I personally would love a salad month for vegetarians. I get so annoyed that every “ premium” salad in a restaurant or at the grocery store has chicken or some other meat in it. Give me some delicious lentil salad or farro salad or some other form of protein that isn’t meat.
I'd love to watch Josh struggle through a salad month. Having to make other salads, not just wet slop
better get ready to slop on this wop
The Mythical Kitchen would spontaneously combust if they did a salad month lol
He would do Midwestern salad. Grape salad, snickers salad, marshmallow salad...
@@jamyedowell245 yummmmm...I'm suddenly so hungry, haha.
Yo your boy has stated publicly that he’s a huge salad guy. He cooks a lot of sloppy, inventive garbage. I’d be interested in seeing what he actually eats.
"Do fish fart?"
I can't explain my love for you guys. You're so authentic and hilarious. Truly being your mythical best!
"None of you ever believed in me." Good sir, when you recreated the blood taco and rhett actually enjoyed it; you had my faith, and respect from then on!
For most of the video, I was like "This dad energy from Josh is an interesting change of pace." Then he started making the potato soup and said "BOUILLON!". And the Josh we love returned.
I was thinking how the tone shift for that 3rd segment was so different. Almost as though it was filmed on a completely different day.
My name is Dillon and I feel like if josh and I where to ever become romantically involved his pet name for me would be boulion
Josh is at his best when he's alone in front of the camera. His genius shines through.
I dunno, I think he's best paired with Emily
@@JudeFergy I think they were amazing as a duo to start. However, I think in the more recent videos with Emily they've been trying to hard to be crazy or eccentric or whatever. It feels forced to me.
@@JudeFergy I was just going to say that!!!!!
Josh’s energy was less manic but more low key radiation of chaos
I vote we get at least one salad episode where Josh simply makes a salad into the most substantial, decadent, and unhealthy comfort food he can think up
Salad month actually sounds pretty good, ngl. Would be interested to see Josh get creative with something that has much less of a reputation for being fun than his usual fare
I actually really like salads and I would be so interested to see what kind of crazy monstrosity that josh could create that still fits in the definition of "salad"
This episode is my ideal Josh energy. Somewhere between regular mythical kitchen and the podcast
Absolutely love it! 🙈 This is really different and creative. Great studio lighting and editing! It looks really appetizing in the eyes. For sure this came out really tasty!
Love the soup idea but all looks great! Thank you!
“I could make rock soup.” Ok, but there’s a story call Stone Soup that I loved growing up… that soup is so good!
Oh wow thank you for this memory! We read this story and then we made stone soup. It was extra delicious because we got to eat during class time.
I remember that. I played a farmers wife in a school play version of Stone Soup!
@@MaryHath YES! i did the same thing in preschool
I remember my dad found a perfectly, beautifully round stone at the college he was teaching in and made sure to bring it home to make "stone soup" with - all because of my obsession with that story. It was really sweet of him (mediocre soup though, I wasn't super into vegetables at that age lol)
"What if mashed potatoes, but water?" - that killed me.
Nothing tickles me more than hearing the folks behind the camera laugh derisively at Josh’s shenanigans. 😂
Thanks for cheering me up some. You all are great. I am a couple a states away and my 4 legged bratt [cat] had to go to the ER. I needed a good smile and laugh. Thanks again. Enjoy your weekend.
No joke, as a vegtarian who loves this channel I would love to see either a vege month or salad month!!
I really wanna see like a baking month or dessert month so we can get lots of Trevor content too
yes! or even a holiday meal and each member of the team creates a dish
Baking monthhhh
The Great Mythical Bake-Off.
Totally doing these now. Also, I love your random personality. 😂 You crack me up!
I love the idea of themed weeks. You should do one with tortillas. The leftover hash reminded me of my youth where leftovers always got turned into burritos.
Salad is largely ignored. Would love to see your spin on salads!! Bring on salad month!
I honestly would love a salad month. People need to know that salad doesn’t have to be bland. Make your own dressing. It’s cheaper and it tastes better
fresh from the garden is always better too
This. My ex introduced me to handmade dressings with a sesame ginger and I was immediately hooked
I'd also love to see the unhealthiest salad (fried Kale base maybe), or try to make a burger into a salad as legitimately as possible.
Trader Joe’s spicy peanut vinaigrette is amazing
Agreed. (Greek) olive oil and seasonings with lemon juice makes a really tasty dressing too
corn beef hash!!! grew up on that, loved it. more videos like this one pls! did yall ever do the themed month? like beef would be good, or rice, or italian cuisine
Josh getting food everywhere never fails to make my skin crawl.
Yes do a salad month!! I feel like that could actually be really entertaining because salads are just so basic, I loved to see you guys get creative with it
I would actually love a salad month! It’s so versatile (regular salad, pasta salad, potato salad). Someone else mentioned a video on making your own salad dressing and I think that’s a great idea!
I would love to see salad month. As soon as you mentioned it, I immediately got super curious and excited about what you might do to salad!
I would honestly love to see a "chicken" themed month. Chicken seems so versatile, yet I always just bake it.
Corned beef hash from a can is so nostalgic! My dad always told us it was dog food, so he didn’t have to share. Once I learned it was actually people food I fell in love with it. So. freaking. good.
I've been eating canned hash with my family for my whole life and ever since moving I miss it like crazy, most delicious dog food I've ever had
That is such a Dad move!!
It’s THE BEST
I would seriously watch a Salad Month, but I would also give it 6 days before Josh abandons reason and makes a plate of Tortilla Salad which totally isn’t just nachos
I’m here for it either way
SAME!!😆
Josh is definitely one of the best additions to the channel, everything about him is just magic!
The editing on this episode is WAY better! Love it!
should do a budget theme like every dish can be made with like 20 bucks, i liked "Can Josh Make a Gourmet Meal Out of These Mystery Ingredients?" would love to see more episodes like it
He actually did. He had a series called “Nickel and Dine” but he only did like two episodes. It was him trying to make gourmet meals with really little money like less than $2 a plate! Idk why he stopped
20 dollars a meal is budget to you? Not for most people. That’s a tad bit out of touch
I definitely loved the nickel and dine ones i wish they did more of those too!
As a Jewish guy I feel seen by the latke portion, especially the double dipped applesauce reference. Thanks Josh and the Mythical Kitchen!
I was thinking the same thing! Glad you also felt this way, love Josh and mythical kitchen. And just in time for Hanukkah.
Josh and Nicole are such great nearly unexpected Jewish rep
More of this, please!
I enjoy that it took longer to garnish the good soup than it did to make it. Keep it up Josh! Hilariously fantastic.
“You’re gonna take a bowl, that’s like a plate but deep” WHY DID THIS MAKE ME LAUGH SO HARD 😭😭
I'd love to see every type of "salad" for a month, but have none of them actually be the traditional bowl of greens with a topping. Make potato salad, egg salad, tuna salad, macaroni salad. Do some of them in the "fancy fast food," do some of them in the "past food" (I think KFC used to have macaroni salad when I was a kid), do some of them in a "three easy steps" formula. And then, to cap it off, at the end of the month do one of the "shorts" and it's just Josh eating a bowl of ranch covered iceberg lettuce. No description of how it's made, just him sitting there eating it, staring dead eyed at the camera. Disappointed.
Josh and his team are sooo amazing!!!!
your hash is exactly how I make Christmas bubble and squeak!! .... got me feeling all festive now
Salad month was said as a joke, but I would be so down for that! The possibilities are nearly limitless!
Salad month, go for it! I'm confident you'll create interesting content.
traditional salad - fancy salad - taco salad - salad dressings - layered vs tossed
Josh you are number 1 in our book. We only watch like 3 RUclips cooks and we watch you the most!
Im so glad Josh explained that a bowl is a plate but deep, i always thought it was like a cup but shallow but now i know better
Obligatory Filipino here. Yes, we do love our corned beef hash in a can. Thank you for the shout out, Josh!
Love,
Also Josh
Coming from the UK, we love it too!
Corned beef hash in a can is the best breakfast, making good choices
Honestly, a potato month would be kinda cool since they’re so versatile:)
HECK YA POTATO!
Boil em mash em stick em in a stew
Potatoes are the one food I absolutely despise in almost any form except for fries😅. I wanted to see if this vid could change my mind
Lily Kate Young - Sasha Blouse agrees.
should totally do a salad month! You already do crazy burgers, pizzas and fried chicken all the time (and all of it looks so good and I want to crawl into the screen to it) but salad! You could do like a grain salad! Leaf salad! So many...would be fun to see your take on them.
Josh, you are #1 on my youtube food show list!
I'd love to see food from less 'common' places cause joshs knowledge is fantastic. I'm thinking Eastern Europe/Africa/Oceania maybe. Or fusion would be sick. Maybe like you have a random two countries where you do a fusion of their food. Like I made polish/Korean dumpling soup
Nicole screaming in the back "THAT'S MY LUNCH" is glorious.
ahhh a chilli themed month!!! So much you could do!
It's currently Thanksgiving and at the moment I am making these for my family, back home for a bit in Jersey!
I'd love to see a series on eggs. Like more of as a meat substitute (for when it's the only thing in the fridge)... I know there's like 100 ways to cook an egg but I feel like if I want eggs in a meal for dinner I'm either scrambling or poaching in a sauce.
Thank You Josh, my family gets most of its food from food pantries, and recently they gave me a case of frozen french frys and frankly i have no idea what to do with 20lbs of frozen french frys.
I really like this show. Even Josh on his own is entertaining
I want to see variations on my favorite sandwich, the French Dip! Josh is the best youtube chef!!
I’d absolutely love it if you could did a children’s month - Nicole says she worked with children and Trevor is still a child… show me things I can Cook for my daughter that she might eat. Her current diet is mild butter chicken and rice; spaghetti bolognese; macaroni cheese and sausages…. I’d love more options.
“And Trevor is still a child...” 💀
Homemade pizzas where you let your daughter choose the toppings? (Butter chicken is also a valid topping, funny enough)
Chickie Nuggies ! Or I guess the term is popcorn chicken. Don't have to be frozen, cut up some chicken breasts into popcorn sized chunks. & bread them in bread crumbs. The seasoning aisle at Walmart has a ton of seasonings in those envelopes, real cheap. My kids love the garlic Parmesan one. Bonus points if your kid breads 'em herself cause she gets to participate.
Have a different kid of a crew member on the panel to taste the food - including the pickiest eater: Link
@@sjbchipmunk Get Link to eat it too, simply because I think his kids inherited their mom's stomach.
Theme Month: Tofu
I am genuinely curious what the mythical kitchen would do given a whole month with the blank cavas that is tofu.
Probably add other things to it so it has flavor
@@chrismanuel9768 duh.
Now that's entertaining! Thanks!
Turkey month for Thanksgiving/winter holidays! I was actually going to rewatch your Busting Thanksgiving Turkey Myths video to cook my own this year, but I would LOVE a new one too. (Maybe sides?) You can also do different leftover sandwiches, ground turkey meals, deli turkey, cooking just turkey legs/breasts for smaller meals etc.
Also I second someone else's pasta month! Maybe a sandwich month too. :)
Damn I love Josh…. “We’re gonna take a bowl, it’s like a plate…but deep.” 🤣🤣🤣
fries would be a cool idea for a whole month, they're real versatile and there's a lot of variation, shoestring, waffle, curly, steak, double battered, etc. Then after that you have a lot of variations still, w/ seasonings, like the Cajun fries at Five Guys, there's a local place that puts the tiniest bit of brown sugar on them and it's so good, and I'm sure y'all could think of more, and then there's ways to use them, obviously a side dish, an ingredient (like in California burritos) or poutine. you could probably stretch that out to a months worth of content.
French Fry February, this writes itself!
"Scoopsky potato's! Scoopsky po-tah-toes!" The family who put up with him at that restaurant helped make that episode so fun. Impractical Jokers are FABULOUS
The three hacks vids are my favorites!
Theme month: soup. It's like magnets; I have no idea how they work.
Bean month would be awesome and Rhett could always be the guest taster.
The eye contact while Josh just chomped on that massive breakfast hash bite, and then GRABBED A PIECE OF FROZEN GREEK YOGURT.... dead.
Show idea: The Great Mythical Bake-Off. Where Trevor gets to set classic baking challenges for Josh, Vi and Nicole and harshly critiques them. That would be comedy gold.
I absolutely love the moment when Josh stuffs some of the hash in his mouth and just hwasahuffa from the heat and wet smacks for a good while before cooling down with crunchy yogurt. Followed by Nicole’s amused cackles.
Theme Month - Sushi
(Or just do a sushi video, I need the wacky sushi ideas to inspire me)
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuushi.
The intro reminds me of the Friends episode where "Joey doesn't share fooooood!!!!" happens- when the date steals fries off his plate 🤣🤣
JOSH DOESN'T SHARE FOOOOOOOOD!
The hash he made really reminds me of bubble n' squeak, which is the leftovers from cabbage ham and mashed potatoes cooked just like that, and I used to eat it with the crispy bits and melted butter 😋 very traditional Irish food 🇮🇪
I love french fries almost as much as I love Josh.
No. Wait. Fries are better. Sorry Josh.
How about eating fries of Joshes body?
@@sergeserenkov4733 that's cannibalism
I would love a salad month, and I bet a lot of others do too! Maybe it could be a salad week to compromise for people who don't like salad lol
Bob
That hash looks so good!!
Winter is coming. A theme month on soups or braised meat would be awesome, useful, and timely. Lots of possibilities with both.
I would love to see a salad month. The mythical kitchen always goes in such fun/solid/crazy directions and I would love to see that applied to salads.
Theme week might work better than a theme month, you guys put out a lot of great content!
The crunch wrap week you guys did on the IG a while back was awesome. Themes like that on mythical kitchen would be great
