    Jeff Slavens posted a new video on the X31 front last night. To sum it up, his new favorite front tire.

    I have the irc volcanduro ve33s on mine and has been the best tire I've had even though it will wear fast. Ive got like 75 miles on them on rocks sand mud roots from high country to desert and holding up great with absolutely amazing traction with around 70 precent life left on the rear

    I loved the X30 front on west coast hare scrambles and gp's where the dirt is mostly hard pack with some sand and rocks mixed in. The offset knobs always tracked really well at speed on hard pack. I will miss it.

    I loved the X30 front on my YZ250 here on the east coast here in Canada. Mainly hard pack, loose rocks. Excellent steering input with great wear characteristics. Super tire for riding fire roads.

    Had issues with starcross 5 rears chipping and throwing knobs. The old bridgestone m 402 used to be my favorite rear to run, it worked well on soft and hard pack including rocks I'm finding the x30r just as versatile.

    My favorite all around rear on my TX 300 has been the X40 for several years. But now the cost is a real concern. I tested the Tusk hard terrain rear and it was 90% of the quality of the X40 but at half the cost. That's a pretty decent tradeoff for my B offroad racing.

    Followed your advice on the m59 and x30 and have run them on all my bikes for the last year or so great tires well worth the extra money now I'm forced to spend some cheddar on that 31 front

    Impressed with the Bridegeston X31 front, if only Dunlop could make a front tire like this (love the MX33 rear but the front only hooks up when starting to slide...which is really odd)

    • @Superdisco199
      @Superdisco199 Год назад +1

      I hadnt run a Dunlop front since the 756 when I got the MX33 front. I think the knobs are so tall that it squirms around. Once it's pushed super hard that's when the grip starts to kick in. It became obvious to me when i lost my back brake and was able to ride at near full speed on just a front brake. Really. Weird. Tyre.

    I know you've ridden our race in San Manuel, AZ which is the terrain I ride. I've been running the X30 90/100 up front paired with a 220 Ride semi-gummy rear. It's been a pretty good combo but the front can go away quickly at times. Would you guess to say the X31 would be better for my terrain vs the X30?

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Год назад +1

      Yes. The 31 is better. I would also consider the 80/100. Won’t float as much but sometimes that’s good. They tend to dig in and bite better for me.

    Hey Morgan did you compare the GT333 to the Kenda Equilibrium ? we're having so much trouble with these starcross 6's down in Australia on the rocks :-( Hoping the MX34 is going to be a winner.
