In my 20’s I used to do a lot of work on my cars with friends. 20 years later my friends are too busy with work, families etc so it’s great to have your videos/RUclips to guide me. Just done the drive shaft now on my ex Royal Mail combo van. It’s satisfying and saves money. Thanks
Good job Mart.Bought a Corsa C SXI 1.2 brand new in 2005.Did 156,000 miles from new and never let me down.A family member now has it with well over 160k on the clock.Top little motors.
Nice job - well done Martin. I was in Woodall Spa today and the weather was perfect for doing cars - not too hot or cold! Mind you - all that working on the ground is hard on the knees etc. no wonder the pros use hoists.
Interesting torquing of the hub nut, I know Vauxhall have a funny way of torquing up sometimes but that's the first I've seen or have done. I normally do up hub nuts torqued up to tight as f***! Good job mate.
Great video Martin, another one in the bag as they say. How was the gearbox oil ? did it need any topping up ? Look forward to the next video Martin. Cheers, Jeff.
Good helpful videos, as it failed and you have repaired it yourself, can you go back to the garage and get it re-mot'd without having to pay again, think theres something like that? Cheers
+retrorestore haha you have that many cars I'm surprised you have never looked at fleet or traders insurance and have you all on one policy/drive each other's!
You should never tighten wheel nuts/bolts with a pipe on your wheel wrench because you may have to loosen them (eg change a flat tyre) and you have left your bit of pipe back at home they are made to a lenght to get the right torque on them anyway
Hi Martin.. that's why I like your videos so much .. I like the reality of it.!! ... by the by the trotter van has a roof rack.. how you going to get one for yours ?? stuart
Great job as always Martin...what ever happened to "That f@*$er's not coming off!" tightness . anyway go and get yaself a nice lucazade ..i bet ya gagging lol

Yes, I make you right, Silly sequence. I can't see why as it's not a tapered bearing or anything special. Just them being funny I suppose.
Great video Martin, another one in the bag as they say. How was the gearbox oil ? did it need any topping up ? Look forward to the next video Martin.
Cheers, Jeff.
I've ordered a bottle Jeff as it was a bit low. Cheers
Martin
Cheers for this, I am doing the Nearside driveshaft and came across your video. It is a pig to get out! not much space for a crow bar to prize it out.
Good helpful videos, as it failed and you have repaired it yourself, can you go back to the garage and get it re-mot'd without having to pay again, think theres something like that?

Yes you have 7 days for a retest the you have to pay again.

Hi Martin.. that's why I like your videos so much .. I like the reality of it.!! ... by the by the trotter van has a roof rack.. how you going to get one for yours ?? stuart
HI Stu, Yes it will have a roof rack and I may end up making one as they are around £150 for a reproduction one.
i'll look forward to that vid...
best thing to do is to replace the oil seal as well because after removal of drive shaft they usealy leak after putting it back
this guy is fantastic👍🏾🔝
Did you ever get your compensation from Euro car parts? Hope they did you a deal after messing you about!
No, nothing Dan. Big Corporations have very poor customer service I have found from experience.
All good Martin. The magic copper grease again lol. Will you get that Hayter mower finished soon. Keep seeing it in the videos.
Cheers Pete.
haha, yes, it's still on the list but I keep getting sidetracked lol. One day lol
Cheers

Great job as always Martin...what ever happened to "That f@*$er's not coming off!" tightness . anyway go and get yaself a nice lucazade ..i bet ya gagging lol
Haha No speaking French in this one but I did need Lucozade energy to get the lid off the biscuit tin lol
haha...i'd loved to have been in eurocarparts same time as you that day
Job jobbed.
Oh yes Tim, sorted.
far easier just to unbolt the wishbone ball joint
Not always when doing this job on the floor. Sometimes you need a big leaver with the car up on a ramp.
retrorestore I dine same job today in Astra 19 cdti. I use a piece of wood to knock the joint down..Car was on a jack. Same as your video
Nice one bud. Sometimes they come out easy and sometimes, they are a pig.
They are the same to do it on the floor as a ramp get a heel bar a prose down on the lower arm much easyir that way you are not a trained mechine
No i'm not, this is how I did it with what I had available at the time. The job got done though.
From 1:30 to 2:35 explains my sex life Martin lol, great vids , thanks. 👍
Kushty
