I have been learning about automatic transmissions lately and watching many vidoes on the topic.
Your series on the electronics, hydraulic theory and practical application has been a gold mine. This video is THE best of the MANY I have watched in my endeavor to learn.
I was discouraged after watching many vidoes of 'professional mechanics' stripping and 'rebuilding' GM 4Lxx and 6Lxx transmissions without ever touching a dial indicator or even a feeler gage. Where not a single fastener was torqued and in one case, a spool valve was HAMMERED into a valve body!
Eventually, I found 2 channels where factory manuals were followed and special tools were purchased where needed to do the work properly.
That left me still wanting some theory of operation and to understand the software side, especially something called 'HP tune'.
Finally, I ran across your instructional videos and they have gotten better and better and this one was like finding the Rosetta stone'
    Thank you for this!
For 'new guys' coming up, don't waste hours of time with no useful information. This is the place to learn, and I do not say that lightly.

The business of PRV's wearing out and losing the ability to dump excess pressure sure makes me wish we had better instruments to monitor key functions. This vid covers alot - I have to admit initial overload, but glad to have the insights.

I always wondered why a computer controlled mechanical lock up torque converter would not work. I understand that no one wants a bump in the drive line, but the old standard shift overdrive systems would cut the ignition for a second to take the load off the drive train while switching in and out of overdrive. You almost did not notice it happening.
Seems a mechanical lock up torque converter that cuts the ignition for one second during a locking and unlocking would be better than all this clutch burning and slipping, failing chunks of clutch material going through the transmission costing huge bucks to repair.
Also when lock up occurs the impeller and the driven member is almost at the same RPM anyway. Any bump with the engine ignition cut to unload the drive line for a second during a mechanical lock and unlock would be minimal I would think.
Of course, the transmission only has to get through the warranty then whatever happens after that just happens. May be an aftermarket mechanical lock up torque converter is the answer for applications like trucks and SUVs. 🤔

There are different software tunes, but the converters are likely the same if they have the same code , like jmbx.
