Man we need to get back to the trucks that have the seat option between the driver and passenger. Sometimes you don’t want your wife so far away. Plus if you need an extra seat from someone you have it. With three kids it is crazy that I still would not be able to take an extra passenger in such a large vehicle.
I test drove the Capstone trim level and was unimpressed with ride quality on the 22" wheels. Also, I was extremely unimpressed with sound quality on a $85k truck, terrible distortion at high volume. I know it's subjective, but I think the truck is hideous to look at. The only trim levels I like are 1794 w/TRD Offroad pkg and TRD Pro, but even then, the digital camo pattern on the TRD Pro exterior trim and interior seats is awful. And finally, I'm still a little hesitant regarding reliability after all the passenger side turbo issues that resulted a 'Stop Sale' when the redesigned Tundra was first released to the public. The first 6 Tundras delivered to my local Toyota Stealership all blew the passenger side turbo in the first 2k miles. I wonder if the passenger side turbo issue has been rectified. In my opinion, the Chevy ZR2 with a 6.2 liter is a better executed truck, rides better, has better SQ, but not by much, and is equipped with a front locking diff, the TuRD Pro is not, and I believe the 6.2 liter V8 will last longer and be cheaper to maintain long-term versus Toyota's V6 hybrid.
6.2L has had a of lifter issues on the engine....look it up. And yes, the turbo wastegate issue on the Tundra has already been fixed....the powertrain in the Tundra is awesome, may or may not last as long as their last V8 but it should last longer than the other turbo v6's from Ford, Ram, etc.
I don't like the screen that is out there like it doesn't belong. It reminds me of one of those aftermarket cd systems systems with the big screens. I like a screen that is integrated that follows the layout. This just doesn't look appealing to me. It's like a tablet was just super glued on top.
I just drove a Tundra SR5 TSS 4x4 model. Although it was nice, I can't justify making myself car poor. I'll be waiting for the Tacoma or just search for a cheaper used Tundra.

Also, there is no compensation from GM , as well as I had to spend additional money out of pocket for other expenses . Just a terrible experience all around from GM , I had been a loyal 25-plus year GM truck person . GM didn't care about that . Gm customer care thought I was joking when I told them I was done with GM after this . I ordered a Toyota TRD PRO. Better resale and better reliability The Toyota extended warranty includes maintance as well it is half the price of GM's warranty with no included maintenance.

At current prices, you’d be stupid to take this over a Raptor. I’d take it over a ZR2, but not a Raptor.
Is you test unit a 2023 or 2024? Title says 24 but you said 23 in the video. Just wondering for that center console rattling that may have been addressed in the 2024 model.
I have heard the rattling issues have been fixed
I have the 1794 tundra 2024. Zero rattling anywhere
I always laugh when some describes the sound as “deep throaty”. I know, I’m an overgrown adolescent. 😂😂
Is it worth the sticker price 23,24
Not to sound ignorant but have they really fixed the issues with the Tundra?
Nope almost a year of ownership some of the minor issues are still lingering and I have a recall and they are gonna drop my tank due to increased risk of fire so yeah…
Not had any issues with mine except the gs tank recall.
I come from a Toyota family but that rattling interior is a disgrace to Toyota products. Will never buy this Tundra.
10 more years and the infotainment screen will be the whole windshield and all windows are display screen.
Twin Turbo- Pass and turbos eat oil after some use.......
Man we need to get back to the trucks that have the seat option between the driver and passenger. Sometimes you don’t want your wife so far away. Plus if you need an extra seat from someone you have it. With three kids it is crazy that I still would not be able to take an extra passenger in such a large vehicle.
Nice review.
Please don’t buy the TSS package it is such a waste of money and you only get base truck you can get a nice sr5 or limited for that money
@@Mayan-_ noted! Thanks.
Toyota really out did themselves!
Beautiful BUT when these things need mechanical work in the future imagine the parts and labour bills! A future mechanic is going to need a damn engineering degree.
Is this assembly in USA or JAPAN?
Texas
Tundra TRD Pro or Silverado ZR2?
I have the ZR2.
Looks like the Toyota is my next truck
@@robqwertyuipp8750 the ZR2 not worth it?
Whatevers cheaper
@sean47w7
Recently experienced a warranty repair for a steering rack that took three months to fix .
Had to fight to get a pickup truck as a loaner , with a hitch during the time my truck was out of service .
Then they gave me a 2018 Chevy as a loaner, when you are paying bi-weekly payments on a 2023 , 90000 truck in Canada was very disappointing.
Better resale and better reliability
The Toyota extended warranty includes maintance as well it is half the price of GM's warranty with no included maintenance.
@@robqwertyuipp8750get a ford, better than both.
Title says 2024 but you say 2023?
Seems like just a decent all around truck
Whoever is paying $70-80k for this does not deserve any money or any truck.
in intro you said 2023 lol
I want one so bad
72k and doesn't even have a spray in bedliner. These trucks are ridiculous.
Oh noooooo😢, no bedliner😢😢😢😢🙄
This ain't a chevy boy. No need for that, with Toyota's composite construction bed they can handle any kind of abuse. My 100k tacoma has it and its indestructible.
@@mtfishingwizard ikr what a ripoff, imagine paying that much and defending a billion dollar corp for it! haha people are wild.
@@2jsanc681 oooh composite construction tell me more! is that factored in to the cost?
get your money up broke boi
Hey man you´re a good pilot
for 72k it has a lot of plastic and not much for interior from factory
That fake exhaust sound is like Toyota is saying sorry for the crappy V6.
is that a fake v8 sound lol
Yes it's ridiculous
It sound weak!
Lost me at v6 for a full size truck
finally a tundra trd pro without the godawful red interior. the trd badge on the wheel is some dumb shit though.
very interesting👍🙂
How I wish this engine and transmission was in the new tacoma
My wife has the rx500 with the 4cyl hybrid systems that the tacoma has and I think you are going to be very pleased with the power and torque and how it does in the new tacoma.
Lmfao that truck bed is a joke. 😂😂
Is there any way to shut those speakers down? I'd like to enjoy the pure sound of v6 instead of fake v8 🥱😳🤔😁
Gotta love how Toyota pumps in some fake V8 sounds into the cabin 😂
"A really deep throaty growl".... that is entirely fake. Hate that they, or anyone else does that.
I have '24 trd pro as well! My only complaint so far is JBL speakers!!! I just feel like it's not loud enough - I like to be JAMMING. My Lexus is250 '14 sounds way louder w/ more bass! lol
How's that engine recall going? NISSAN RULES
if I only had the money!
looks like a lot of plastic inside, nice looking exterior though, hard on gas for a V-6
Lame. Test drove one for 1 hr. My 21 is way more truck
400w plug. Worthless. At least they got it right in the Land Cruiser.
Center console is cringe worthy. Will wait on that face lift. Can’t stand rattles
Now go find one…and then pay under $75k for it..not likely.
I hate the toyota screen, it’s cheap and that’s why it is always blinking.
Nice but pricey
Quiet ass truck
Beautiful truck but it’s overpriced.
Man I had the old tundra with a 5.7L V8 before I went to the Ranger Raptor and now it’s a V6 so it’s rlly not worth to upgrade the reason why I bought the Ranger Raptor was because gasoline was expensive but now diesel is expensive and I thought of getting the Tundra again but when I heard it’s a V6 I didn’t want it anymore cause it’s such a downgrade so now I’d rather get a Ford Ranger Raptor V6 EcoBoost instead.
In my country we have a lot of gas and diesel issues.
Then what do you drive if not gas or diesel? Lmao guess go get yourself a Tesla or ride the train.
@@alannguyen5050 my country to broke for Teslas so that’s why I ordered a Ford Ranger Raptor EcoBoost V6
@@alannguyen5050 and we ain’t got train too lol
