@@thereturn2361no there is no needing to constantly repent to stay saved. You do realize that is blaspheming what Jesus did for you? He died on the cross and His shed blood covers ALL sin for ETERNITY. The only caveat here is that you need to accept that gift and truly believe it in order to be saved. Repentance is important. Yes, you should confess your sins to God. But not doing that is not going to take away your salvation. There is perhaps loss of reward... It's in the Bible. I suggest to do a little more deep reading for yourself :)

Don't be so quick to judge. Remember that without your faith in Christ even the smallest of sins aren't forgiven. God doesn't measure sin like man does. Either you're a sinner or you're good. If you love him you will naturally want to follow his ways. But as for these people calling old people Boomer. I can tell them this that they weren't there at the times of those days. Where love reigned supreme. And tough times were soldered on through. There surely was issues then. But people didn't complain. They instead went to their churches and loved each other. You can take great a great many pages of wisdom from these so called boomers. They have seen this world fall quickly because of the lack of love for Christ. Christ is this world's greatest enemy. For he offers a way out of this damnation. It's to be taken with the utmost care and seriousness. Sin is not something to treat lightly. If you happen to continue sinning after you claim to follow Christ. Remember, to immediately repent sincerely to him. Otherwise he could not have known you. Believe strongly in Christ. Don't treat him lightly. He is the main character, the true centre of this universe. Hd is literally God. And he accepted the penalty of sin for us. A grevious punishment that he took that wasn't his sin. So remember, be careful how you judge others. Stay focused on the path of Christ.

If you think that you can achieve "sinless perfection" in your flesh by thinking that you can actually turn from all sin to be justified.
      You are in error.
Born-again Christians will continue to sin in their flesh until they die.
It's our spirit that is sinless and is born again, not our flesh.
      The flesh profits nothing.
There is not one verse that says that we are Justified by turning from sin.
Should we depart from sin AFTER we are saved, i.e. Justified?... Yes!, but we will never become sinless in this body.
      Don't mix Justification with Sanctification.
Salvation with decipleship; the two are two different topics.

@@The-GreenHornet I think you've almost got it right. You acknowledge that we should repent after salvation. Only problem is that you can't be saved w/o repentance. Forgiveness of sins comes through repentance. Also, you say justification and sanctification are two different topics. You seem to be laboring under the impression that being justified is all that is necessary for salvation. Justification is just the beginning of salvation. Sanctification is the middle and glorification is the end result. Keep studying the Word. Grace and peace to you.

I just saw your response to my original comment.
SMH!...No, I don't "almost have it right", as you said.
You don't get it, you're in error.
Repentance in order to be saved is error!
You have believed in a Lordship salvation false gospel, by a couple of things that you said.
Justification IS a ONE TIME event for salvation...Period!
There's no such thing as continual ongoing Justification.
To be Justified by God for eternal salvation is to believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone! through his blood atonement alone! for salvation.
The moment a individual trust in Jesus Christ alone through his blood atonement alone for salvation THEY ARE ETERNALLY SAVED!
Jesus PAID for ALL sin once and for all! We add NOTHING to His FINISHED work on Calvary's cross. He alone PAID the debt of sin through His blood atonement alone for whosoever believeth on him alone!
That is by grace alone through faith alone in trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation!
You are believing in a "works-righteousness obedience works for PROOF of salvation," so-called.
To put it candidly...You're really trusting in what YOU are DOING through your so-called obedience works that really justifies you.
      This is called law abiding.
You're trying to be justified by obeying the law; Even though you won't admit it, that's what you are really trusting in.
Justification CANNOT be mixed with Sanctification. This is when error abounds.
Justification - God alone is the only One who can do this for a individual who trust solely on Jesus Christ alone as his redeemer.
The moment you mix ANY self-righteous works-righteousness obedience for PROOF of salvation so-called into this, you AUTOMATICALLY annul Justification being applied to you, because you didn't receive it by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ ALONE!
He was the Lamb of God, the perfect sacrifice, that she'd His blood, for the remission of sins!
We simply trust in what He alone did...Not what we add to that.
      Salvation is a GIFT 🎁!!!
It CANNOT be earned, otherwise it no longer becomes a gift, but a debt that is earned.
Sanctification - Is AFTER a individual has already been saved! Not mixed with salvation or included for salvation!
Salvation is NOT decipleship, and decipleship is NOT any part of salvation. The two are separate regarding salvation and service.
I can't explain it anymore more easier than this.
You have believed in a Lordship salvation false gospel of works-righteousness obedience works for proof of salvation so-called. That says a individual must turn from your sins in order to be saved and continue to do so as a ongoing process for proof of one's salvation, so-called.
      That's works!
Don't believe what I have said?...
Take a KJB not a watered-down translation, and Read...
Romans 3:19-28. read it carefully and slowly. Read it a couple of times. How is a individual Justified!???...by faith alone in the propitiation (atoning sacrifice) through faith alone in Jesus' blood atonement. That's It!!!
Romans ch.4 (the whole chapter, but look at verses1-5 especially.
Romans 11:6. Grace CANNOT be mixed with works...Period!
      Justification
      Sanctification and
      Glorification;
are three distinct parts of salvation as a whole eternally, but has to be rightly divided separately and never garbled together.
Please read the scriptures that I listed. Or... don't, and continue to go on believing in a Lordship salvation false gospel of works-righteousness obedience works for proof of salvation so-called, that requires that you must continue to show your works for proof of salvation, so-called.
Grace really means UNMERITED FAVOR! We are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ Jesus alone.
If I don't do a single thing in discipleship AFTER I have received the true gospel, I'm still saved; because it's by grace alone, and not of ANYTHING that I do. Now, I may not receive any rewards in heaven, but regarding my salvation, I'm securely saved.
Why?... because I have trusted in what Jesus did, not in what I have done or try to continue to do.
You either get this or not.

Well, no. That's exactly what Jesus Christ did. He lived and died to show us how we should be.
      .
      .
You can't say by "Faith alone, " which means to trust, and then not trust in the things that Jesus Christ commanded. Like turning from sin, etc.
      .
      .
If you do not obey Christ Jesus, then you are not living by faith, and if you are not living by faith, then what salvation do you have, if salvation is by faith?
      .
      .
You're saying "No, I don't have enough faith in you to obey you."
      .
      .
Faith does not mean to simply believe that something is true.
      .
      .
      ***James 2:19
You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble!
      .
      .
      .
satan believes there is a God. Do you suppose that satan has salvation?
      .
      .
      .
      ***Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
      .
      .
      .
      Who has grace?
      .
      .
      Those that have faith.
      .
      .
      And who has faith?
      .
      .
      Those that obey.
      .
      .
So grace is given to those who obey Christ Jesus.
      .
      .
And grace is not given to those who disobey Christ Jesus.
      .
      .
Which means that you as Jesus says, must turn from sin, but that you don't need to be perfect.
      .
Because after all it is already too late for you to be perfect.
      .
      .
      .
"But we're not under the law."
      .
      .
If you're not under the law does that mean it's okay if you sin?
      .
      .
      No.
      .
The law says that you die if you sin at all. Even one sin you are dead.
      .
      .
The law of grace says that if admit you are a sinner and turn from sin then you can be forgiven of your sin.

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.
      10
For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
      .
      .
      .
If a sinner is not to repent of sin, then what is a sinner to repent of?
      .
      .
      Why even mention sinner?
      .
      .
Why not just say everyone repent?
      .
      .
But no, we can't do that, because the Bible says -
      .
      .
      ***Luke 5:32
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
      .
      .
So those without sin don't need to repent.
      .
      .
      Only those with sin.
      .
      .
      Why?
      .
Because those without sin are already doing the right thing.
      .
Those who are sinning are not.
      .
      .
You should never be sorrowful for doing the right thing, but you should most certainly be sorrowful for doing the wrong thing.

You are saved by grace, but your spiritual LIFE is dead without works. Going to heaven after death isn't the only thing the bible teaches. It's also about how to live... DOING THE WORKS OF THE SPIRIT MAKES YOU PRODUCE SPIRITUAL FRUIT WHILe YOU ArE ALIVE, Otherwise YOU ARE FLESHLY AND therefore SPIRITUALLY DEAD. Being saved is easy. But walking with god takes obedience to the spirit. .

Turning from sin is not works, turning from sin is changing your mind your life to what God requires, this is the first step of faith and is a part of it. How can Jesus save you from sin if you are not willing to give sin up? Turning from sin for a lost person and their way would thinking to find Christ is a step of faith, the next part of that faith is to ask Christ to save you from sin. He can't save you from sin if you are not willing to give it up. You can not have two masters. Too many people think they are Christians when they never deal with sin. Too many people come to get saved an plan to live a sinful life style after thinking they are born again and are not. You cannot deceived God but you can be deceived and deceive others. Too many people try to born again buy it didn't take because they didn't do it right, didn't mean business or hold to some sin.

@@PhantomNites Rocky buddy, have you never heard of the new covenant? God requires we not sin. He is holy. In the OT he required his people not sin and if they kept his laws, he promised to be their God. They failed because of their sin nature. In the NT, or new covenant, we are still required to obey God's commands. But our covenant is better than the old one. Jesus atoned for our sins so that when we fall short, we can be forgiven. God still requires holiness but we have an advantage over the OT saints. Jesus imputes to us his righteousness and he also has broken the power of sin in our lives so that we no longer need to live in it. He has also promised that there is now no temptation that can overpower us. AND he has also given us his Holy Spirit to live within us to help us. Yet it still remains that sin is deceitful and when sin is full grown, it leads to death. That is why it is necessary to keep from sin. Make every effort .... to be holy, without holiness no one will see the Lord. Heb 12:14

I encourage you to keep reading the bible. If you do, you will find that scripture does not say we are justified by faith alone. In fact, it says the exact opposite - it says we are NOT justified by faith alone. And then there is the saved by grace alone nonsense. If that were true, you would have pure Calvinism. There would be no gospel available to you. God would choose who will be saved. And it that is the case, I wish you tons of good luck as God is only going to save a few people.

After you have put your trust in Christ (believe in aka have trust in Christ) then He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit, which then will help you to remove yourself from sin. Not that you will be perfectly sinless, but that you will no longer give into sin, but that you will have the desire to abstain from it.

God repented of His wrath when they repented of their sins. The people of Nineveh believed AND repented and were saved. Just as Jesus instructed in Mark 1:15 - “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: REPENT YE, AND BELIEVE the gospel.” They were still heading for destruction though they had believed (v. 3:5). I believe your title is potentially harmful. We all need to repent from our sins. I understand where you're coming from but forgiveness , although a grace, is not at home where rebellion thrives. One must repent in order to be the Light of Salvation in the world. "I will give back all that I have unjustly taken from others and I will give what I have to the poor! Amen, truly I say salvation has come to this house today." Now that is the Word of the Lord. We don't preach the "By the skin of your teeth gospel" but we preach "and life more abundant" so "can two walk together unless they are in agreement"? No, neither can a man belong to the Body if He rejects the head. "Many will come saying Lord Lord... so if a man repents in his heart and struggles with overcoming, "a righteous man may fall 7 times but will get back up every time " but a man who claims to follow the Lord and loves living as the prince of this world would have him to live, that person is a false witness "why do you say to me Lord Lord but do not do the things that I have commanded?" I will show you what a man is like who not only hears my Word but hears my Word and acts upon it" so Yeshua has already judged HIS own House. We walk in the fear of the Lord until Love is made perfect through holy humility in Christ. There is no fear, no condemnation, no apprehension of hearing the Lord's commands or doing HIS Will. Here is perfect submission to God in Christ and here is not the place for willful rebellion. We all have work to do but don't dismiss the work and then complain of how the world is so bad.

This was my mentality for a while also, but stop and think about it. If you believe you are saved from Jesus taking on your sins, are you also not admitting to being a sinner? Ofc you are. In Acts you can read about people that heard about Christianity but didn't receive the proper Gospel of Jesus dying for your sins, they only heard the Gospel from John the Baptist of repenting from sin. They received the holy spirit once they heard the true Gospel. We are set free from the wages of sin through Jesus.

The fact that in the Bible, Christians are referred to as believers, and the unsaved are referred to as unbelievers is because it denotes how we are saved…by believing the Gospel, or why people are lost… They don’t believe the Gospel. Notice that we are not referred to in the Bible as “the baptized,“ nor as “the 10 commandment keepers,“ nor “the holy living people,” nor as “those who have turned from all their sins.“

I use Jonah 3:10 all the time to show the proper use of the word repent. It has to be in the KJV though because repent was changed to "relent" in other Bible "per-versions". Remember, Judas repented of his sin and still went to hell.

Also Jonah 3:10 really gives the great illustration of the result of "True Repentance "
God saw their "works - repentance" and he did not destroy them.
It was because of their "Works of Repentance" that Nineveh was "*NOT"
      destroyed.
      Nineveh "Turned" from their Sin.

The Septuagint (greek version of the old testament) uses μετανοέω which is "repent" and the same word used by Jesus in for example Mat 4:17: »Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.«
In Hebrew it is the word "נָחַם", the same that is used in Numbers 23:19:
»God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent«
Yet the same hebrew word is used by God in Exodus 32:14:
»And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.«
So, the word in Jonah could probably mean both Relent or Repent - but I'm not a scholar.

    Luke 24:47
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
(Here we also see “all nations” this was not just for the Jews but also the gentiles)
Repentance in Hebrew is the word teshuva(meaning to return) so individuals must turn from a lifestyle of sin.
In Greek it is metonia( a change of mind, a reorientation)
When every Apostle preached in the history of the church in the book of Acts they all shared the same message. If they didn’t it would be sound. When the apostles were asked the question “what shall we do?”
    Acts 2:38 was the response
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.🚨
