@@ericespinoza373He teaches faith alone so yes.
By the way, grace by definition is free because grace is an unmeritial blessing from God, in other words, something you didn't earn.
Eternal life is defined as a gift in the Bible, again by definition that makes eternal life free.
The only condition there has ever been to a free gift is to accept the free gift, which is done by faith, then he saves us by his grace, Amen?

This video gave me so much peace. I got saved at 5 or so, all I know is I believed Jesus died so that I could go to heaven and felt forgiven and unconditionally loved and I know I God was with me and I felt His presence and most of my childhood and teenage years I didn’t sin in ways I did in my late teen years and adulthood and ever since I started going to church in high school I doubted my salvation and became confused about how to be saved because of false teaching. I’m 35 now and still struggle sometimes with assurance of salvation like I never did until I attended church in high school. False teachings always give me anxiety and confusion, and I believe God gives us peace when we hear the truth and I believe this is also biblical. Thank God for Jesus!

Brother I was saved like you as a child and got messed up in a Pentecostal church as a teen and for the next 48 years lived in fear and uncertainty. Went forward many times, prayed the sinners prayer hundreds of times and lead a life of weariness. Then this year God revealed to me that our sin was first Adams sin and our condition was sin. Christ paid the debt of God and freed us from the condition of sin. Churches today teach sin as an action, meaning your sinful actions must change. They fail to see the condition we were born with and that Christs sacrifice removed it. Christ did the work. Just believe in him and trust in his work. Be free from your own works to please God. He sat down at the right hand of God and said it is finished. Be convinced. He paid it all. Faith in his work will set you free and give you rest. Peace.

I've confronted many pastors regarding this. Only once did the pastor change his mind, and that's now the church we attend, a non-denominational church. We had to leave our efree church after not only a lengthy discussiong with the pastor on his false gospel (if they say you have to turn from your sin, it's not biblical and therefore false-gospel, make no mistake). Soon after our discussion, he presented again his false gospel the following sunday all while staring at me in the pew as he enunciates "repent of your sin", whereby they always continue by redefining the word repent, "which means to turb from your sin and running to Jesus"... Which even by their own definition it doesnt make sense. According to their redefining repent, they are saying to turn from your sin (repent)... from your sin (repent of sin).... Crazy! Just last week had another discussion with pastor at assembly of god church and asked them the gospel? Two pastors, head and youth pastors both said to repent of your sin, which means to turn from your sin and to Jesus. I asked them separately if they turned from their sin? Youth pastor said, yes! I was shocked, and asked, really? All of them, I asked? He said, YES. I asked if he has ever lusted after a woman since being saved? He turned red and said he had to go. Head pastor wasnt so self righteous and went on to say other churchy things about following Jesus, and switching topics. But, I went back to it and asked in regards to salvation, is repent of sin in the bible? He said, oh yeah, it's everywhere. I said, oh really? And asked for one verse? He said, well in 1 john it says to confessir our sin and God is quick to forgive. I explained, first that isn't "repenting of sin" as they say but rather the opposite, it's admitted or confessing you HAVE sin. Second, 1 john is addressed to believers and has nothing to do with gospel of salvation. He agreed and I waited for one verse out of the many he suggested? As he was thinking I stopped him and said, let me save you the time, its not in th bible. I then explained the actual definition of repentance in the bible and then said God himself repents in the bible. To which he immediately took issue with and interrupted saying I need to do a deeper word study and that God doesnt repent, again because of his redefining the term. Anyway, he said he would do more research which was more positive than I anticipated. But, likely wont change as they have to follow the guidelines of the assembly of God statement of faith, which literally states you have to repent of your sin.... Whatever happened to scripture? Paul states scripture is to be used for correction. I corrected on the one area we as believers are called to protect and divide if any other gospel is preached than the one we received. How is this not a bigger deal in the body of christ? I talk to other believers about this and they just look at me like I'm crazy and devisive. Look, I dont care about any doctrinal beliefs outside of gospel. I mean, I do care, a lot, about sound doctrine in all areas, but I will gladly fellowship with anyone united in gospel message of grace alone by faith alone in christ alone. But you thwart that then I'm not the divisive one, they are!

Wow this very same thing happened to me! I even sent the Pastor this sermon and never heard from him. My Pastor says all 7 false gospel responses on the list! The Holy Spirit put this video on my algorithm because it just appeared on my front page! I didn't even search for it! I left the church this past December and haven't gone back. I've watched the sermons online and he is still saying repent of your sins and turn from your sins to be saved in the gospel message at the end. It is very disheartening because I really liked him and the church members but I can't continue attending a church that is preaching an accursed gospel another gospel. I pray to God he watches this video and repents, changes his mind, about repenting of sins. I am very happy that I found Grace Fellowship and I will just have church at home watching these sermons online every Sunday! You don't need to go to a building to worship God and learn from the Bible. Good job Pastor John on teaching sound biblical doctrine! I finally found a church that preaches the CORRECT GOSPEL. It took me a while but I finally found you. Thanks to the Holy Spirit! ❤🙏

95% of churches preach a false Gospel. People are trusting in their own performance and will end up in Hell. Praise God he revealed this message of salvation in his finished work to me after many years of dead works. I grew up in church and thought I was saved. I went forward, prayed the sinners prayer, “led a life of good works”but knew something was not right. I didn’t know what it was. I was delivered from works based salvation. Now I know without a doubt Christ saved me based on what he did. God has to reveal this to people. It’s human nature to try to save self.

🔴 According to Jesus repentance is what the people of Nineveh did when hearing the preaching of Jonah:
    ● the men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because *they repented* [μετενοησαν / metenoēsan] at the preaching of Jonah, and behold a Greater than Jonah is here.
    - Mat 12^41 [NA21\TR1598]

It means what it says. It's simple. Don't make I tougher than what it says. It states FIRST, Repent of your Sins. SECONDLY, and turn to GOD. THIRDLY, The Kingdom of Heaven is Near. This how you become BORN AGAIN and SAVED. It clearly states to for you to repent of your sins. Ask GOD into your life by turning your life over to HIM. And then you will enter the Kingdom Of Heaven when it is at Hand. This is when you die or HE returns. When we turn to GOD we have to stay with GOD. You cannot carry these sins into your New Born Again Life. You have to Repent and have them erased by being washed in the Blood of JESUS. With those sins behind us we become a cleansed and brand new person. This guy is preaching false teachings.

False Reposne Cliche #4: Ask for forgiveness? What does repent mean then? And from the Bible, we have: Acts 2: 37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what are we to do?” 38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” 40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on urging them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” 41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. 42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. This to me is the essence of asking for forgiveness.

This video was fascinating. It was in my stream today. It was right on time, seeing, just yesterday, I felt the urge to look at old dictionaries to see how they defined “repent”. I was very curious to learn how dictionaries from the 1600-1700’s defined repent as feeling sorry for something. I had thought the meaning of repent had begun its change after the King James Bible. I had always had much trust for the authors of the King James Bible and it had me scratching my head as to why they said the Greek word “Metanoia” meant repent (feeling sorry for something, even to the extent of changing behavior). But you explained and showed examples of the word being used in ancient Greek and it clearly meant “changing your mind”. My question is this. Why didn’t the authors of the King James know how Metanoia was used in the ancient Greek and instead used a word that had come to mean something very different by then (repent). In addition, if the authors would have known Metanoia’s proper meaning during Paul’s day, they should have never used the word REPENT and put “CHANGED MIND”. If they made such a huge doctrinal error, it should make me wonder if they made similar mistakes in their translation of the Bible, right? I would love to hear what you say about this. I have never given this all much thought before.

    • @gracenewnan
      @gracenewnan  5 месяцев назад +2

Great question. Ultimately, I think the misunderstanding can be traced back to the Latin Vulgate where Jerome translated "metanoia" with the Latin word "repoenitentia" which contained "emotion" and "doing acts of penance" within the meaning of the word. This Bible translation became THE Bible translation for over 1,000 years as Latin became the primary language rather than Koine Greek. By the time the King James translators and other English translators began their translations they would often simply "transliterate" words that may have had any level of controversy associated with it and so you can see "repentance" in the Latin word "repoenitentia." You can also see "baptism" in the Greek word "baptizo." They did this to avoid the controversy over the mode of baptism (i.e., sprinkling, immersion, etc.). In terms of potential other mistakes in translations, we live in such an amazing time in history where all of the translations can be scrutinized and verified because we have the underlying Greek copies to go back to. As with any word in any language, it is always wise to not only look at the lexical definitions, but also (if able) try to ascertain how the "average" person understood the word in the day and time period it was used. Anyways, I hope that helped. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us through our church website and Pastor Clark will respond to you directly.

Thank you for taking the time make this reply. It all just reminds me that the only perfect Word of God is in the original manuscripts. Sometimes, I get so hung up on my old King James Bible...(: I so loved to see your videos and others like it. I don't understand how people can read the word "repent" and not think that flies in the face of, "saved apart from works". When I was a boy and heard about the free gift of Christ, and then heard that I must turn my entire life over to Christ, turn from my sins (stop sinning), and on and on, it did not sound like a free gift and it seemed an impossible burden for me to pay (along with Christ's payment), and it was not by only believing in what Christ did, but it was relying on my ability, my strength, etc, which was NOT salvation. It was very confusing. I'm in my sixties now, and not sure when I first really believed. I spoke the free gift message for years, but deep down, I think I was somehow part of the salvation equation, but then at some point, I understood and was fully persuaded that it was all Christ and his death for my sins, his burial, and resurrection@@gracenewnan "Metanoia" (:

Where is the filthy rags test detailed in the Bible? How many works (filthy rags) must I do before salvation to gain it or after to keep it?
Requiring works before or after for salvation negates the "free" part in salvation being a free gift. It also makes people doubt their salvation when the sow to the flesh rather than the spirit. And that's something we all do/did even the apostle Paul.
Why would the Bible warn saved people against it if it is not possible for saved people to go off track? Obviously, we aren't to stay there, but we can't lose our salvation.
If we are saved, we are always saved. Otherwise, what were we saved from--our next sin?
For those relying on their own actions to keep them saved, I will gladly follow you around for a day and point out your sin for you. And, what would I discover if I were allowed access to your thoughts?
God's standard is always perfection. We should strive to walk as Jesus did. But we should acknowledge we have a dual nature until he comes back or calls us home.

It is dumbfounding how critical the “30 second” concept is to some of these folks when you see zero emphasis on such a concept in Scripture itself! It’s a relatively modern concept. Yes, the Gospel is very simple. But to think there is no necessary and minimal depth to it basically insults all of God’s own Scripture that is devoted to explaining exactly what the Gospel is and isn’t.

And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'"The verb repent demands an object, It is saying repent of what. My question to you is what is the object in this vs, It is asking what do I change my mind about. If you guessed sin ,you would be wrong like so many who see this vs. The object of the verb in this sentence is Jesus Christ. It is Changing you mind that you receive the Holy Spirit. That saves.,

If you just do a search on the word “repent” in the KJV you will find 100+ times it is used. A lot of the time it’s God doing the repenting rather than man, and likewise there are examples of people repenting TO sin rather than from it. Exodus 13:17 is an example of this. The new bible translations love to add on “of your sins” to the word and they eliminate every single time the Bible mentions God’s repentance. You don’t need to be an expert in Greek to see what it means just based on the context in the KJV. Going back to the Greek confirms the accuracy of the KJV

"If a man is righteous and does what is lawful and right...follows my statutes, and is careful to observe my ordinances, acting faithfully-such a one is righteous; he shall surely live,” declares the Lord Yahweh." (Ezekiel 18:5-9)
“For I, Yahweh, do not change…From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says Yahweh of hosts.” (Malachi 3:6-7)
“For God is not so unjust as to overlook your work and the love which you showed for his sake in serving the saints [those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus (Revelation 14:12)], as you still do. And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness in realizing the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:9-12)
“For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, saying, "Surely I will bless you and multiply you." And thus Abraham, having patiently endured, obtained the promise.” (Hebrews 6:13-15)
“And every unclean thing and one who practices detestable things and falsehood will never enter into it.” (Revelation 21:27) “It is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as descendants” (Romans 9:8)
“Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.” (Genesis 26:5) “That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words, “it was counted to him,” were written not for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him that raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was put to death for our trespasses and raised for our justification.” (Romans 4:22-25)
“Now if Christ is preached as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised; if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:12-14)
Many “have deviated concerning the truth by saying the resurrection has already taken place, and they are upsetting the faith of some.” (2 Timothy 2:18) “We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified of God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised. If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.” (1 Corinthians 15:15-17)
“Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” Come to your right mind, and sin no more. For some have no knowledge of God.” (1 Corinthians 15:33-34) “A man of violence entices his neighbor and leads him in a way that is not good.” (Proverbs 16:29)
“Depart from evil, and do good; so shall you abide for ever. For Yahweh loves justice; he will not forsake his saints [those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus (Revelation 14:12)]. The righteous shall be preserved for ever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall possess the land, and dwell upon it for ever.” (Psalm 37:27-29)
“Wait for Yahweh and keep his way, and he will exalt you to possess the land. When the wicked are cut off, you will see it.” (Psalm 37:34) “Observe the blameless and look at the upright, for there is a future for a man of peace. But transgressors shall be destroyed altogether.
The future of the wicked shall be cut off. And the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh, their refuge in the time of trouble. And Yahweh helps them and he rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.” (Psalm 37:37-40)
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” (John 14:15) “He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.” (John 14:21)
“I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony to Jesus and for the word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life, and reigned with Christ a thousand years… This is the first resurrection.” (Revelation 20:4-5)
“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26) “When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority but speak thus as the Father taught me.” (John 8:28)

To summarize, it is scripture saying that we must turn from evil (all sin) and follow God's statutes and observe God's ordinances. We must choose obedience leading to righteousness. We must seek righteousness first. With God, all things are possible. We cannot do this on our own. Jesus will help us. Jesus comes to fulfill the law. When Christ is raised up on the last day, those who are seeking righteousness with their whole heart will be raised out of the flesh and into the Spirit with Jesus. Jesus is The Truth. Only Jesus can guide us there. This is why Jesus is coming the second time for salvation. We must have Jesus in the flesh to guide us because "The heart is deceitful more than anything else, and it is disastrous. Who can understand it?" (Jeremiah 17:9-10) We need to be open and humble enough to not miss Jesus when Jesus is presented to us by The Father. The Pharisees had Jesus right in front of them, and they would not believe Jesus was from God. When The Father is trying to point us to Jesus in the second coming, we do not want to miss Jesus because we are too arrogant and believe we already know The Truth. "No one is able to come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ @@waynel389

"But seek first his kingdom and righteousness?" "The heart is deceitful?" "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you." 1Jo3:4, 'Sin IS the transgression of the law. That is the Bible's definition of sin. Thus to repent of your sins is repenting of transgressing the law and repenting towards keeping the law. Gal5:4, 'Christ has become of no effect to you, you who are justified by the law.' Repentance defn: To change of one's mind. Acts 19:4 is the clearest definition of repentance, 'Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.' Repentance is turning from whatever towards Jesus Christ. That is all in all of repentance. Repentance of sin turns you toward the schoolmaster, not Christ. Gal3:24, thus Christ is of no effect to millions of Christians preaching repent of your sins and a perversion of the gospel [Gal1:6] that if repenting of sins is a requirement for salvation means the believer who believes in a perverted gospel is not saved.

The gospel says to repent. The argument that the word “of sins” doesn’t follow, is just as unscriptural for one to say there is no trinity because the word “trinity” is not in the Bible. Jesus preached repentence. How can we say it’s not a requirement. Jesus himself said to repent. It is correct that repent means to turn around/ away from, but if not sin then what? The argument that God repented means it can’t be sin is false. God can turn away from his judgement that he was absolutely righteous to do in the first place, and we can turn away from our sin. Jesus also says not to return to our sin like a dog to its vommit. When one turns from sin it doesn’t make one believe in his works, because believing in his works would also be sin. If you personally know God you’re going to know that no matter how much you repent you’re still worthy of hell, but you keep repenting because you want your sins forgiven. If we confess our sin God is righteous and just to forgive. Repentance is confessing our sins and not returning to them. How can one who is in the light go back to darkness. Jesus says “not everyone who says to me lord, lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of my father in heaven”. We must do the will of the Father. The will of the father includes repentance, the great commission (telling people about Jesus), love among others plainly stated in scripture. I know I’m quoting scripture without giving scripture chapter and verse. This whole “repentance is not necessary” Gospel is deception. Repentance is needed.

He was either regretted that he made mankind because of their evil (the flood) or he decided against going through with a righteous judgement for people’s sin. 17 And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
18 And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
19 And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
20 And he cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?
21 And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this child's soul come into him again.
22 And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
23 And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

      How can it be both?
Is it only grace? Or not?
Romans 11:6 KJV - And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
2 Timothy 1:9 KJV - Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
And God wants us to do works (like: to preach the gospel, whereby we might save others), but salvation is by His grace only.

You should be doing a lot of things. Like: Believe the gospel, go to church, undergo baptism, do the works, walk in the Spirit and preach the gospel. And much more.
But when we only trusted and believed the gospel, we were (and still are) saved by grace. And then we received the holy Spirit, whereby we are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Ephesians 4:30 KJV - And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

@@hiawathadevries7222justification, sanctification and glorification are ALL part of the gospel.
Lordship salvation teaches that we are saved by grace alone, but to not include all 3 processes in the gospel message is not the full gospel.
If you are a Christian, you are guaranteed all 3 steps.

Romans 3:20 KJV - Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Romans 3:24 KJV - Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
If you are saved, you are justified. Not a process.
Hebrews 10:10 KJV - By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 10:14 KJV - For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
We are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Did you add something to this? This is not our own doing and not a process. He has perfected us, whom are sanctified.
We sanctified? No, we are sanctified. Not a process.
John 17:10 KJV - And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
To glorify Jesus Christ and God, is something we should do, not something we automatically do.
Romans 8:17 KJV - And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
If ..., that we may ..., a condition, not automatically!
Maybe we receive crowns or glory in other ways. But all glory to Jesus Christ!
But by listening to the Word of God, something we should do, we can walk more and more in the Spirit. We are commanded to do this. So this also, is not automatically. This should be our daily walk. We should be doing this, a process, the rest of our lives.
We should do good. But we are able to fail. And our works are as filthy rags. Our salvation is not by our own works of righteousness, but through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

Very sad that you would attack the word repentance. Maybe you should read revelations chapter 2 and chapter 3

Tit 1:15-16 KJV 15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Someone's proffesion does not mean they are born again when there lives lack good works and evidence of the new birth.
1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    Act 15:8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Act 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
Jon 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
