I'll never get enough of watching anything on the Kaiser or Frazer. An old timer that I knew in the 1960's still drove a Kaiser in his last days. He drove it to remote Canadian locations to fish at least once a year. From the eastern US. He claimed That the Kaiser-Frazers were the only car tough enough to handle those trips.

  • @bossdog1480

I was watching a video the other day about aircraft engines and apparently Kaiser had some input into that business as well.
I think he was a very forward thinking man and could probably have sorted out a lot of the problems we have today.

The Kaiser will look good on the lot. I bought my Manhattan from an older gentleman. His boys had planned to restore it in their teens but lost interest and then it sat in the corner of a shed for years. Like yours, the seats were in sideways, door cards removed and all trim etc. in the trunk. All side glass broken like yours. The old man told me all parts were there but one tail light was broken. I got it home and put the interior back together and all parts were there right down to the door handle/crank pins. Next day feeling lucky we decided to try to see if it would run. Without too much effort we were driving it on the yard, the Hydramatic trans even shifted as it should, the car had been parked 25 years at least. It’s been a dozen years now and it’s still waiting patiently for me. These were well built cars. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I replaced the front, passenger side, door glass on my '47 Frazer, maybe a year ago. It was a simple job. I've owned this car for 38 years and it was a do-it-yourself, over many years, restoration - not perfect, but good enough for me. Mine is an early Frazer, built by Graham-Paige.

It’s a real testament to the quality of Kaiser engineering that a window replacement could be undertaken with such relative ease some 73 years after manufacture. Of course, Scott’s deep parts inventory made that possible as well. Have to say I prefer CWM’s “high end old car collection” over what’s found in Leno’s Garage which are a tad too pristine for my taste. Also appreciated seeing the Kaiser parked nose-to-nose with a Hudson which seals a long lost point in time. Well done!

Very satisfying project, Scott. Glad to see the Kaiser getting some love with solid windows now and some of the foofoo removed from her. Absolutely get her outside and do an investigative move on the engine. Do your magic on it. Do a bore scope inspection through the spark plug holes and see what you find. As you said if no resolution, pull the head and go from there. You had amazing success with the old Chrysler, do your same magic on the Kaiser. Looking forward as always to Saturday!

always love watching your videos when I have time. I started watching when you were messing with the 49 Frazer because you were the only video resource I could find. I bought a 49 Kaiser deluxe in 2019 when I turned 21. I just got it in the body shop for splice of the front driver corner up to the lead seam, body mount repair, blast, prime, paint, interior and chrome before I get to enjoy it again. if you ever need kf parts our club has plenty of helpful people even to non members. your videos helped me not be so scared of the process of doing a complete mechanical, suspension and body/interior restoration.

The Kaiser door design looks like they were about 30 years ahead of their time. The top level of the doors cuts high into the roof line and effectively reinforces the roof, with the rain channels appearing nearly flush - this styling trend didn't become common in car design until the 1980s, when aerodynamics became more of a priority.

Nice to see one of these in such decent condition. Hope you can revive it to a running car again. These models were among some of the nicest looking cars of that era. An elementary school principal I knew had a 1954 model with two-tone white & metallic green which was also one of the top line models. I remember that the interior featured bamboo trim and some other neat features. Too bad that they had such a poor powerplant. If the company could have held on and developed a V8 engine and some body updates they might have made a real success of there presence in the market.

    Very nice!
Having extra eyes and hands around makes things easier. You two will get a lot done working together. 😊

Too cool, I've always loved these cars and love the styling of them. Someday I'd love to have one.

For those of you who aren't members of the SBS(Sad Bastards Society) it is mandatory that we have multiple projects to constantly move between to abate the boredom. As always, great show thanks for that.

Lovely old car Scott. I've been rewatching your oldest videos. Hoping you would come back to this car. I have a 1953 Dodge Coronet I've been playing with lately. Thank you for your efforts. Always a good show. Cheers - Kory
