Given prices for vintage Porsches, this is one of the few cars worth the effort to restore. Nice work.
From scrap to Gold, absolutely stunning.

Well done on saving a Euro SC Cabriolet. The upholstery is not overstuffed like so many restorations. That looks like a mechanical drive Super 90 tachometer though, only up to 6K.
Hier sieht man eindeutig, daß ihr mit ganzem Herzen bei der Sache seid! Wunderschönes Ergebnis! Fast kurios mutet der kleine Motor von diesem Porsche an.. das waren wirklich noch ganz andere Zeiten.
Der war auch nicht so schwer (935kg) wie heutige Autos, die oft schon mehr als doppelt so schwer sind.
Der Porsche hatte mit 1600ccm Motor 130PS, ein luftgekühlter Boxer ist immer deutlich kompakter als andere Motoren.
Man könnte eigentlich sagen, das ist ein VW Käfer mit anderer Karosserie und stärkerem Motor.
I’m always amazed by these-you think “There’s really not much left here to even restore…just rust.”. Then bit by bit craftsmen like these bring the car back to like-new.

I would like to have some commentary about which items were repaired and which were replaced by after-market spares. I am staggered at the kind of cars which are discarded in the USA.

Sweet memories, started 35 years ago same project. Took me over 10 years to complete, but lots of fun and in the end a very nice and a smashing car !
Fantastic achievement and a stunning result - but I found the 'slide-show' approach, without any commentary, a little soul-less. But very well done anyway!

1964 was a very good year.
painting the outside wheel you can see the rust still in the interior. No rust protection whatsoever , Looks nice at first glance but in 5 years it has dissolved to rust again.

i bought many cars including 356's. Almost always they have rust/rot even in California. That model had no rustprrofing unlike the later ones were zinc dipped.

What a beautiful car! I have always wanted one. I remember when you could pick up a nice one for $12K! They have always been out of reach. As my income increased, the cost of a 356 rose dramatically! Now (at over $100K) they’re STILL out of reach…

I recall many years ago red 356 like this parked in front of a house that was across the street from my aunt and uncle's house in Saddle River, NJ. It was rusty just like this. Never knew what became of it.

Restauração ficou perfeita,mas não aplicar um washi primer antes do primer pu,e antes do emborrachamento nas caixa de roda e assoalho aí vocês pecou... Trabalho impecável desse sem base da ruim depois!!!

I'd have preferred to keep the removeable hardtop to keep it period correct. Maybe lower it 2"? I love how you can look at these later 356's and see where the shape of the 911 came from. Dare I say, a missing link? Beautiful job! Especially with all the chrome/polished metal.

Their are some things no machine , no computer no AI will ever be able to replace or replicate , that is the hand and eye coordination that is driven by a life times experience of working with hand tools , to be able to look or feel when something is perfect or requires just a touch more work before perfection is achieved ..beautiful work ..

First of all, congratulations and deep respect for this restored masterpiece! One small criticism: the original colour and more authentic Porsche colour would have been "Ruby Red" in combination with "Beige" (see from 28:14) for the soft top. But of course that's purely a matter of taste ;-) ... best regards!
