My immediate reaction to the Among Us set being rejected was "it's literally a game about secretly being a murderer/looking to find the person that's secretly a murderer"
@@angusgambrell7757 One of LEGO's core rules is no realistic weapons or machines of war because the original founder of the company didn't want kids to be recreating WW2 or anything like that. With this in mind, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings don't feature realistic weapons and aren't set in the real world. Indiana Jones also is more built around adventure and is set in the past so LEGO can get away with not including realistic weapons. (by realistic I mean modern weapons or machines of war like tanks, AKs, etc.) Killing and gore are core pillars of the Among Us experience, so there wouldn't be any way around it. They probably also figured that the fad would die before they could get the set out.
Here’s what I think they should do with “small yellow”: have the set come in two bags. One for the main build, and another for the bricks that spill out of the chest!
Strider: how could they reject Yellow? Could it be because of the structural integrity? Yellow: *is about a person ripping their chest open and spilling out their organs and blood, being pitched as a children's toy* Me: it's a mystery.
Maybe the among us one got rejected because the whole ship would have been too big as one whole set. But it would have been cool if rooms of the ship were sold separately or in packs for the small ones and you could mix and placement of the rooms and combine it with rooms from other maps.
I feel like the Among Us set was rejected due to how they had no idea if its relevancy would fare during the redesign period. It takes up to a year and a half for approved Ideas sets to come out and if the IP chosen fizzles out in that time (for example, Fall Guys), it likely wouldn't sell how LEGO would want it. Apologies if my wording is off
If any rejected Lego set should've been on the list by default, it's without a doubt the Krusty Krab It was such an amazing set and it got every single detail from the show with 100% accuracy! And it's been years since we've gotten a Lego SpongeBob set so this could've been used to revitalize the line! It's a huge disappointment that it got rejected, but at least we're finally getting a Sonic The Hedgehog set!
@@smittzero8463 The set was proposed in early 2020, which was years after Mega Blocks dropped the license. I can only assume another brick toy manufacturer got the license before Lego could.
2:18 I think it is the other way around. Innersloth is an indie studio, and Lego asked too much from then. And going by a financial standpoint, innersloth could not take the risk.
11: Among Us - Lego officially doesn't want to license violent videogames thus they probably never even contacted the creators of Among Us. 10: Futurama - The cartoon portrays large amounts of alcohol and tobacco consumption. 6: Little Yellow - that can't be the reason, the ship in the bottle set also has just a bunch of pieces dropped in as "water". I think its just that the head doesn't resemble a human head enough. 5: Surf and Rescue - I bet it was just the theme. Lego didn't consider the cancer message at all, just that they have already a line of beach sets and they probably had already other guard tower sets in mind. 4: Fall Guys - my theory: Damage. Legos are durable but maybe lego was concerned that the set would encourage kids to throw and drop the figures more that they could handle. 1: Anatomini - It's funny, but jeeeeesus, I would wake up screaming seeing it at night. Speaking of the LEGO Mario line. It’d be pretty cool to finally get a bomb boo (or as I like to call them, Boombs) in one of the sets. So we will all finally have a small LEGO version of Boo himself in our collections. We have too many regular LEGO boos anyways.
My guess as to why Yellow was rejected has to do with legal issues. The original Yellow, as a sculpture, is a copyright of the artist, the same man proposing that it be made a reproducible set. I suspect LEGO would owe him royalties on every set sold, and that they didn't want to be in the position of an individual potentially leveraging his copyright if, for whatever reason, he ended up dissatisfied with the arrangement.

Hey, Strider. These LEGO videos have been fun and all, but I think you can get personal with some of these LEGO videos. Like, your own personal Top 10 Favorite/Least Favorite Sets, themes, minifigures, wishes, set ideas, etc?
I love the idea of working with logo, but I never find the sets I'm looking for. Maybe it's because I'm a 32-year-old woman. The Adventure Time set looks exciting and would actually get me watching the show and, when I saw the proposal for a "Yellow" miniature set I was ready to put out money. I'd also love some nice graceful realistic animal sculptures and busts and some customizable wall art. I'd build functional art, like decorative lamps. I'd even be up for building a complex back-lit stained glass window. I guess I long for some aesthetic space between the cold grey space ships and the pink dream house looks of Lego Friends. Can't I just build something of lasting beauty as a design or art piece that isn't built around TV or other passing trends? Can't I make Yellow? Or a detailed graceful white cat? Or an exciting abstract sculptural lamp to place in my window? Maybe one day I'll finally get to make Yellow.
I think the reason the among us set was rejected by lego was to avoid any controversies regarding the popularity of the game. Like if the set was released and people found out about the set, they would probably think lego was just trying to cash in on the popularity of among us. And once you know it, 12 year old reddit memers would spam among us memes regarding the situation. Lego probably just didn't want to deal with any of that.
Not sure why Lego would care about the opinion on some redditors lol. The more likely reason is that Lego saw among us as a fad and feared that by the time they released the sets, among us wouldn’t be relevant anymore.
@@bsgsmusic3451 yeah that makes a lot more sense. And now that I think about it, lego did make minecraft sets. But it worked because legos and minecraft went well together. Among us and legos don't have much in common.
I remember there was a pitch on the lego ideas site for a set based on Count Olaf's house from A Series of Unfortunate Events. I *really* hope that one gets accepted; that'd be fun as heck :D Actually now that i think about it, there are a bunch of locations from ASoUE that'd make for good lego sets. Places like Uncle Monty's house, Prufrock Preparatory School, the Queequeg, the Carmelita, the Hotel Denouement, etc.
I actually got a signed ISS. In the local LEGO-store in Nuremberg, there was a event, were you could let it be signed by the designer cuz he lives in Erlangen and the store in Nuremberg was the nearest to him.
I would've first guessed the Among Us set was rejected bc of violence (even tho it's really tame but hey corporations can be finicky af), but they accepted Star Wars, so idk
Lego were probely more concerned it wouldn't sell well, legp struggled to jump on limited time things and make big bucks on it, its why film tie in waves are small and arnt advertised much. Among us wouldn't sell for adults as well
Bad news everyone. There were 3 sets based on video games in the finals of Lego ideas selections. These were: Hyrule Castle, Samus's ship with Ridley, and a house from Animal Crossing. But they were all turned down. How unfortunate.
There was a fan of the band Rammstein that recreated the stage from the 2019 tour. It easily got the 10,000 votes and even the band approved of it. It was rejected by Lego because according to them it didn't follow the guidelines about basing the set on a someone else's intellectual property. Personally I think the band is just too controversial for Lego.
Lego had another lego ideas set where they had you put a ton of clear studs in a container with no further instruction. They could probably get away with something similar on small yellow.
Perhaps if lego still made boardgames the among us set would have worked better. Or if the among us sets could have been easy reworked into the city space theme.
There are So many great moments, characters, places, vehicles, and gadgets from Futurama that would make excellent Lego sets. We're missin' out! And hey, great video Strider! I'm loving the new stuff. I mean I love the old stuff too but that's not what's in question
Yeah, the model set is impressive, but let's be honest here, it's really hard to picture a franchise that is aimed more for adults than for kids becoming a Lego set, which Lego's main priority is for families and kids, which The Simpsons managed to get one because that show had an appeal for kids as well as adults, despite the mature themes the show has, which I'd like to point out that Doctor Who and Back to the Future also have mature themes like The Simpsons, and they have Lego sets too.
It's kinda funny, with Lego Futurama, we technically got that when Mega Bloks/Construx made a couple figures- Bender and Fry. Just no actual sets, outside a Bender buildable figure.
I actually saw Yellow in irl once, I was at a Lego art exhibit in Portland Oregon I think and Yellow was there. I remember thinking it was just ok and liking the other pieces better, so when I saw all the posters at the place advertising Yellow I was confused on why they advertised Yellow specifically.
I think its interesting that Lego makes Jurassic World sets, when Jurassic Park, is one of the most stress inducing films I have ever seen. Now, Park is very different to World, but the concept of World is still man-eating dinosaurs.

I think the Fall Guy problem is the reason they were hesitant on Among Us, The Simpsons is(/was) a timeless show whereas Among Us and Fall Guys are passing fads that'll be forgotten in a few years time
The easiest way to have 16+ sets Just keep it on the website, since most of the kids buy Lego from stores, they can just keep it in the website so they can just keep it in a section of the Lego store
dude you just unlocked a memory or none other. When I was a really little kid I went to a art show in Utah I think. I saw yellow there and it was awesome.
@Astrobot Tari As an Among Us player, that makes me cringe into the third dimension. I HATE THAT SO MUCH. ESPECIALLY THAT SUSSY BA- even I don't wanna say it...ugh...
@@pneumonianakey Pretty much. However, eventually Among Us is either going to run out of things that you can do or people are going to want more variety and then a new game will come along that scratches that itch, becomes stupid popular, and then it gains the same level of exposure; that's just the cycle of popularity: it never ends, and quite frankly, I wouldn't have it any other way. That said, I absolutely love that this is another case of an indie game gaining so much traction that it became mainstream. I love seeing that stuff happen, damn what the haters say. I may not play Among Us, but I can respect the absolute hell out of its success: it was well-earned! :3
For the among us set, the one other reason is that it would use up a lotta pieces, making the set more expensive, unless they made it some ultimate collectors series.
You know, I always thought the three burned Anakin Skywalker figures were pretty gory, especially because they represent the most disgusting scene from the entire three trilogy’s. Surprised Lego made them in the first place, seeing what they rejected here.
Several Lego Ideas submissions still get made anyway years after being rejected. The Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ is one such example. More recently, Lego's Titanic is the same story.
I've always wondered how people designed these sets because so meny of these have new parts unlike those in other sets how do they design these 3d modelling programmes 3d printing/ making your own moulds
Imagine though, among us as a Lego set. It would be like a board game where you get a card saying crew mate and impostor and somehow killing people. -Edit It would be like cluedo lol

innersloth would have had no issue with it considering how open they are to fan works ecs.
I think it's more of lego not wanting to make a set for a single game of which it was unknown if it would stay in popularity
which it didn't
its still pretty popular, it just seems less popular now because its peak was so high
@@LegoTom-Productions I never said it wasnt popular now it's still got a solid playerbade including myself
it's just that compared to the players it had like last year it's noticibly just... very small
From millions of active players down to around 3 thousand
@Tyler Galarza Nah I still feel like a among us one would be cool
OMG BRO MR ANGRYFACE IS A TIME TRAVELER! HE KNEW THAT TECHNOBLADE WOULD DIE! respect 🐷👑
I would like to see a Top 10 discontinued Lego Sets.
That would be a big list, maybe discontinued Lego Themes?
if anyone is wondering the adventure time game displayed at No. 2 was a game called lego dimensions, similar to the skylanders games with a portal and everything
Answer to why Zelda was rejected: The Zelda projects were denied as the rights to use Nintendo properties were licenced to a different LEGO competitor

Mario and The NES: 👀
With the Lego Mario maybe one day we can get Lego Zelda
Reminds me of a Lego Aliens set I put up LEGO ideas back in about 2014.
It got about 3K supporters before it got rejected, with it being a brand they didn’t want to be associated with
Hey, Strider. These LEGO videos have been fun and all, but I think you can get personal with some of these LEGO videos.
Like, your own personal Top 10 Favorite/Least Favorite Sets, themes, minifigures, wishes, set ideas, etc?
Anatomini looks a little bit like something you'd see in FNaF
The more likely reason is that Lego saw among us as a fad and feared that by the time they released the sets, among us wouldn’t be relevant anymore.
or because of the theme probably
@@bsgsmusic3451 yeah that makes a lot more sense. And now that I think about it, lego did make minecraft sets. But it worked because legos and minecraft went well together. Among us and legos don't have much in common.
I remember there was a pitch on the lego ideas site for a set based on Count Olaf's house from A Series of Unfortunate Events. I *really* hope that one gets accepted; that'd be fun as heck :D
Actually now that i think about it, there are a bunch of locations from ASoUE that'd make for good lego sets. Places like Uncle Monty's house, Prufrock Preparatory School, the Queequeg, the Carmelita, the Hotel Denouement, etc.
Same with kotlc like imagine an exile set or a sanctuary set
(But the movies will need to come out first)
Yes
Maybe as a smaller set they could have the trolley
WE NEED THIS NOW
@@blevination oooh that'd be a good one :o
Let's not forget about the Rammstein lego set that got rejected even though it didn't have any copyright images.
I swear to God, if there is an actual Among Us set in this list

I actually got a signed ISS. In the local LEGO-store in Nuremberg, there was a event, were you could let it be signed by the designer cuz he lives in Erlangen and the store in Nuremberg was the nearest to him.
I would've first guessed the Among Us set was rejected bc of violence (even tho it's really tame but hey corporations can be finicky af), but they accepted Star Wars, so idk
Lego were probely more concerned it wouldn't sell well, legp struggled to jump on limited time things and make big bucks on it, its why film tie in waves are small and arnt advertised much. Among us wouldn't sell for adults as well
I mean, it’s easier to just push away the violence in LEGO Star Wars, but Amogus focuses on it quite a bit.
Bad news everyone. There were 3 sets based on video games in the finals of Lego ideas selections.
These were: Hyrule Castle, Samus's ship with Ridley, and a house from Animal Crossing. But they were all turned down. How unfortunate.
Howdy!Hope you’re having a good day phantomstrider!Love from Lebanon 🇱🇧
Cool im from iran
Love from Australia!
Isn't your country so screwed that your power grid is essentially shut down?
How are you watching RUclips if you are actually in Lebanon?
All of the stores in my area had the ISS. Maybe I’m just near like a Lego factory or something?
Oh they did make board games
@@failsafeoff2592 no they didn't
@@pamelagreco4942 yes they did look up lego minotaurus

There are So many great moments, characters, places, vehicles, and gadgets from Futurama that would make excellent Lego sets. We're missin' out! And hey, great video Strider! I'm loving the new stuff. I mean I love the old stuff too but that's not what's in question
Shocking that Futurama's lego set was rejected! What a shame. Great tier list Strider. 😁👍
Edit: Thank you for all the likes guys!
You're welcome for the Likes, hopefully that made your day great and helped build up your low self esteem 🙃
@@J0kerHecz It definitely did, thanks.
Lego among us wouldn't be a good idea, they probably predicted that it would eventually die.
It's kinda funny, with Lego Futurama, we technically got that when Mega Bloks/Construx made a couple figures- Bender and Fry. Just no actual sets, outside a Bender buildable figure.
I have the bender
Among us was a passing faze, they knew it
I actually saw Yellow in irl once, I was at a Lego art exhibit in Portland Oregon I think and Yellow was there. I remember thinking it was just ok and liking the other pieces better, so when I saw all the posters at the place advertising Yellow I was confused on why they advertised Yellow specifically.
I love seeing videos where people talk about something they're really interested/passionate in
I like your Lego videos a lot ^^
Me and my dad own probably close to $10,000 worth of Lego including all the minifigures and expert sets
Not surprising seeing how expensive legos can get

The stranger things set could be seen as too scary for young children.
I was thinking the same thing...
I think its interesting that Lego makes Jurassic World sets, when Jurassic Park, is one of the most stress inducing films I have ever seen.
Now, Park is very different to World, but the concept of World is still man-eating dinosaurs.
4:27 there is a cutscene from this game where a soldier gets his head cut off.
Among Us probably got rejected because the Imposters kill the crewmates onscreen and there’s blood, which may be too violent for LEGO’s allowance
OMG thank you Strider for making more Lego videos I love your Dark Web Cartoons Banned commercials and Lego videos it's so cooled to see more lego videos :)
The reason why lego rejected the among us set is because they weren't ready to sell their dignity 😎
The most disappointing one for me was the Christmas Story house. It was such a perfect design.
9:40 yes? There sets that have just multiple of a single piece just to fill. There the Bonsai tree and Ship in a bottle.

LEGO: We don't wanna do Shaun of the Dead because of the violence and gore.
Me: Didn't The Lone Ranger have a heart-eating cannibal as the villain?
I think the Fall Guy problem is the reason they were hesitant on Among Us, The Simpsons is(/was) a timeless show whereas Among Us and Fall Guys are passing fads that'll be forgotten in a few years time
amongus is forever
amongus def not getting forgotten
Your ghost character is so cute in animated style. Keep up the amazing content.
I'll see you next time.
The easiest way to have 16+ sets
Just keep it on the website, since most of the kids buy Lego from stores, they can just keep it in the website so they can just keep it in a section of the Lego store
I agree
dude you just unlocked a memory or none other. When I was a really little kid I went to a art show in Utah I think. I saw yellow there and it was awesome.
I’m glad the among us one was rejected.
I’ve honestly felt like Jimmy Neutron in the “happy show show” episode because of that game
@Astrobot Tari As an Among Us player, that makes me cringe into the third dimension. I HATE THAT SO MUCH. ESPECIALLY THAT SUSSY BA- even I don't wanna say it...ugh...
@Astrobot Tari Oh same here! That stupid anti-humor crap put me off the Game completely
@Astrobot Tari its just destiny, if something becomes viral its gonna be everywhere.
So what are your thoughts on LEGO Minecraft, then? >:3
Love your videos, they're so relaxing
4:09 decapitation isnt lego friendly

Yeah I don't think it's the fact that they get decapitated it's more The source material
We're in the good timeline. No amogus legos.

I'm glad Boo is getting more screen time in your videos this year.☺
Years ago he RARELY got any attention and regonition.
Please Do Top 6 Worst/Best Hungarian Cartoons!
I've always wondered how people designed these sets because so meny of these have new parts unlike those in other sets how do they design these 3d modelling programmes 3d printing/ making your own moulds
They could've done the Shaun Of The Dead one as a limited collectors set, it definitely would have sold, especially in the UK
Imagine though, among us as a Lego set. It would be like a board game where you get a card saying crew mate and impostor and somehow killing people.
-Edit
It would be like cluedo lol
I went to an event at a mall in Schaumburg, Illinois over 10 years ago where I got to participate in building a giant lego Yoda statue. I remember in the Lego store at that mall they had a display of a very very similar Futurama set, complete with all the characters. They even had a little Lego Hypnotoad.
I won't lie, the set I was saddest to see rejected was the Lego Rammstein set. It looked so bloody cool and I love the band. But licensing issues are a thing unfortunately...
The Reason Why Among Us Lego Sets Were Rejected Was Because Of The Game Being Violent.
Even though I know that it will never happen, I still want a lego nuketown
Me: why no Futurama?
Lego: it's too violent
Also Lego: *includes guns, beer bottles and zombies in sets*
Me: mm hm sure
I almost lost it when I heard there was an among us lego set
I was kinda supporting it, but then I remembered the memes from Among Us, and I just...no longer supported
Have you considered that the Among Us idea might have gotten rejected because it was about MURDER?
Thank God, Among Us doesn’t have a Lego set!
