The Haunted House set has a really interesting story. It's shown from the painting that the house was owned by Baron Von Barron the main villian of the old Lego Adventures line, which explains all of the historic trinkets littered throughout. The Pharoah hidden in the painting is implied to be a curse Barron set on himself after taking these trinkets from the Pharoah's tomb, that may or may not have eventually killed him.
It boggled me why Monster Fighters never got its own TV series the same as Ninjago, Chimera or even Unikitty. A LEGO set that paid homage to the Universal Monsters with a twist sounds like a cool concept.
In Japan, the PG-12 rating is even more harsh than most PG/PG-13 ratings in other countries. For example, the extreme gorefest psychological horror film The End of Evangelion (complete with nudity and the infamous hospital scene) was only rated G in Japan.

"Venom is just a repaint of Carnage!" *howls in laughter* That's because Carnage is the *spawn* of Venom, of course they're gonna look similar as constructions as they're family! Read the Comics (or at least watch the 90's cartoon)! XD
Hello, Phantomstrider! My name is Ian Rodgers, and I live in Round Hill, Virginia! I subscribed to your channel once. And, I have a suggestion for another video that you should do next time. You should make another video about Harry Potter!
I love a lot of the set designs featured in this video. 😁 The way you got upset during the honorable mentions part was so relatable. 😅😂 Also, the painting featured in the Haunted House is a great homage to Lego Adventurers. Featuring the big bad of the series as well as the mummy. 😁
A couple of quick things regarding some sets on this list: 1) The Venom set was noted to be almost identical to the one they did for Carnage, and as someone who owns both (and as a fan of these 2 villains from Spider-Man), I feel this was likely done intentionally as homage to the fact that Carnage is actually Venom's "spawn", if you will. You see, when Vemon was defeated the first time, his symbiote was sent into space with the hopes of being rid of it for good, but it later returned, and came back with the Carnage symbiote as it reproduced while in space. 2) The spider us pronounced "she-lob", as it's specifically a female spider. Gollum intended to have her eat Frodo and Sam to get rid of them and claim the ring for himself afterwards; of particular note, this took place at the end of the second book, the two towers, but when they were adapted into movies, it was moved to the third film, most likely due to time issues while filming (if I had to guess). Also, I'm pretty sure the side build with that set that is used to catapult Gollum was added purely as an extra play feature, as Gollum himself never actually got involved with this past leading the Hobbits to Shelob; as I mentioned earlier, he intended to let them be eaten by her
Hey Strider. Kids and I love your content. 🙂🙂🙂 Just thought I'd respond to your point referring to the Venom LEGO set. Whoever made the complaint that it looks too much like Carnage absolutely missed the point. I'll explain. Carnage is the offspring of Venom. It was an offshoot or leftover from the original symbiote to make contact with Cletus Kasady and his blood. So if they are similar, it's both by design and comic accurate. So there's no reason for anyone to make that take reasonable if they took the time to access the source material. Hopefully this helps. Have a great day 🙂!
I only recently discovered the Lego Hidden Side sets through your vids and I absolutely adore the theme, it's really disappointing that it didn't take off cause I'd have loved to see them build on the haunted town theme more
That being said, I strongly disagree with the ghost hoods being problematic, personally I just don't see that connection and think the sheet ghost design looks cute
I had two of them: the one with the Werewolf and the one with the Crazy Scientist and his Monster. Edit: I just remembered that I also had a third set: the one with the Swamp Creature.
If you're looking for suggestions for another Lego list, they've been making a lot of plant themed sets. I have 2, a Lego Bonsai with two themes included, traditional and cherry blossom (I went with the latter), and a Lego Bouquet. It has a bit over a dozen pieces that you can arrange in a vase (not included) but looks quite good. Even capable of convincing you they're real at a distance. I've also seen dried flower arrangements, wildflower bouquet, orchids, and succulents among others.
I don’t have any scary LEGO sets. I am pretty sure I might have gotten scared by them as a kid. Not only that, but I don’t think my mom would have bought it for me as a kid
Personally, I used to absolutely LOVE the Monster Fighters sets! They were so creative, expansive just the right amount of horror without become "gory" or gruesome! The "Moonstones" aspect of the sets really gave it more of a feeling of underlying mystery and lore surrounding these horror legends.
