When it comes to the spider trike, it’s probably based on the Spider Cycle from the Ultimate Spider Man cartoon. In the show it was stated that Peter had to use the trike because the web shooters S.H.I.E.L.D used web fluid that was really expensive. Although I don’t know why Lego made it a “trike” instead of a motorcycle.
Lego Spiderman sets are all over the place, there are piles and piles of random spider vehicles including but not limited to, a giant robot spider, a jet, giant bikes, monster trucks
The Spider Cycle at least had the excuse of being useful for areas where the web-shooters are less than practical, like where there aren't tall buildings everywhere, and it could also ride on top of web-lines. The Spider Trike is just an over-complicated catapult.
I remember the lego harry potter spider set, and I think besides being overall unpleasant to look at, the price at the time was way too high for what little you actually got to build. My mom bought it for me and I remember thinking “is this all?” when I was finished, so that also might have contributed to its bad rating.
The Ultimate Lightsaber Duel is actually based on the Mining facility on Mustafar, which hung over a large lava cliff. It played a large role in the first half of the fight, and I've always been fond of it
The Galidor TV series aired during my pre-teen / early teen years and at the time I felt it to be like Farscape for kids. For those who may not know Fatscape was a science fiction series that aired on the Sci-Fi channel during the late 1990's and early 2000's. It was about a human astronaut who while test flying a new spaceship got warped to a far-off section of the galaxy and met a colorful cast of alien characters, including a blue plant lady, a warrior squid man who has a sword that can transform into a laser shooting assault rifle, and others. They all go on adventures in an organic spaceship that's alive and even gave birth to a baby spaceship later in the series.

The Aragog design in the later set I got as a kid (I'm talking post-Deathly Hallows movie, when they were using flesh tones for the minifigures instead of yellow) was a serious improvement over the original. It had a face with some personality to it rather than dead black orbs on the side of the head, a more distinctly tarantula-like appearance that helped it look not so alien, and the legs were even repurposed from a ninja sword mold! I'm sure it was still creepy to arachnophobes, but it at least looked like a cool toy monster for your lego figures to fight in that set rather than H.R. Giger's lost spider sculpture.

Mace Windu and Grevious with 5 lightsabers for $30 is decent, especially in the modern age (the set is very recent) when LEGO prices are absolutely insane and unaffordable unless you're rich. I The speeder is just a neat bonus. The prices have gone up so much due to inflation that the average citizen can't afford LEGO for their kids and either has to resort to knock-offs like Megablox or just not get LEGOs for them at all. Unlike when I was a kid there's basically no child fans of LEGO anymore because the toys are too expensive so only rich people can afford them. They're all adults.

As in the whole Minifigure was not a Minifigure, but a casket where all the mechanics where hidden, so, the heads didn't come apart, the hands didn't moved and the legs didn't came out as well so you couldn't take away Obi-wan's Lightsaber and put on Quigon for instance. If not i think you would really love it cause its super well made and even has a proshot available to watch! I would love to hear your opinion on it, wether it's a short video or just a little comment.
LEGO Aragog is an evolution of a huntsman spider. Tired of being stepped on, it evolved to lose its soul but gain ultimate protection from its primary predator...the human foot. Even shoes cannot damage its black plastic exoskeleton and the human foot avoids preying on it because it knows not to touch the alarming and pain-inducing LEGO bricks on the exoskeleton.
As someone who had Covid myself, it really bites not only the dust, but ALL the sand at the beach. Please try to get better, Strider, we still love you and wish you well. Keep being you and reviewing what you enjoyed the most. Thank you for everything, mate, and always remember to have fun! 😎👍😇🙏❤️☕️🎼🎵🎶
The problem with General Grievous' Combat Speeder is not the obscurity of the vehicle, but the price and overall value. Obscure vehicles are usually well recieved, as we get so many repeats of more famous designs (x-wings, falcons, etc). $30 dollars for 2 minifigures and a very surface level speeder is a pretty awful deal. Evidently Grievous is a very expensive figure to produce, as most sets he's in are a bit overpriced. Doesn't help that the speeder was needlessly oversized. Would have been much better at $20
Ngl, the Lego Nick from Galidor figure looks like a melted dollar store Mega Man toy you'd find in the clarence bin. Even then that is being a little too nice
Im pretty sure the C3PO set was made around episode 1s release. Looks to be the version of C3PO that Anakin hasn’t finished building yet. It would explain why the set looks so unfinished.
It seems to me like it's more so a product of it's time than anything else. I've personally noticed that many of the oldest Lego Star Wars sets were nowhere near the quality they are today, comparing the oldest version of the Millennium Falcon set they ever made with the more recent versions of the set gives me at least a pretty decent idea of just how far these sets have come. Because of this, I don't think it's any secret that the set looked as bad as it did, especially given Lego's reluctance to make an abundance of new pieces for a certain set due to how much it would cost them to develop them
14:57 just letting you know, those are called power blasts, by pressing on the sides of them while they are in minifigures hands they launch out of a minifigures hands. They actually shoot pretty far
"Looks like a Chinese bootleg toy, assembled by the blind, and warped in the microwave for a few minutes". oh gawd, you actually made me spit take my tea all over my screen! 😀
honestly, being able to send spiderman catapulting out of the spider trike makes it my favorite just because of how funny it is to just send him flying
#8: I had that set in the past. My brother got me the set as a present for my twelfth birthday. Looking back on it now, I tried using those pieces to play the scene, even Anakin losing his legs and left arm. My brother would be upset because it was expensive, and I took it for granted. #6: Seeing that in the thumbnail, I assumed that you were talking about the C-3PO promoting the release of Star Wars Episode I. #1: Oh, God, I remember seeing the McDonald's Galidor figures in LEGO Magazine. Seeing that now, it looks horrendous.
"Lego Spider-Man 2: Doc Ock's Crime Spree" In 2004 (Which was when Spider-Man 2 came out) Lego released a special 4+ set (if you can believe it) for the movie. They had plenty of other sets based off the movie. Sets don't always turn accurate but there's a difference between be accurate and re-acting a scene from the movie at all. this includes Spiderman riding a spidey helicopter (like since when does Spidey use a helicopter) to chase Doc Ock while escaping on a motor bike. (Why does Ock need a bike). The only good that comes out of this set is that it was only $15.00 and has a sexy looking spiderman fig, but all figs are reuses of Jack stone figs, which of course can't come apart like regular figs. This set also comes with a plastic hallow ramp piece so light it won't even stay in place. There's no way to attach it to anything. This bound to be THE worst Spiderman set in history of Lego Spiderman!
I can’t imagine being a kid in the late 90’s and going to the store to pick out a Lego set and you choose the znap jet car and then go home and build it just to realize it looks like something you would do for a group project
I feel inclined to share this definition from google: “Jackstones are stones in the urinary tract that have the characteristic appearance resembling six-pointed toy jacks. They are nearly always reported to occur in the urinary bladder, and the occurrence in less capacious renal pelvis is unusual”
I bought the new dual on mustifar set just so I could give Kanobi the high ground also my older siblings had the old one and my sister vividly remembers the flipping of the figures
5:00 I actually had this set and it was one of my favorites. The light-up sabers, the collapsing towers, even the wonky stick maneuvering. I felt it captured the more epic, set-piece feel of the battle, almost like a video game. The new set just looks puny in comparison.
Hey, Stridor! Thanks for making this video! I’m happy to be one of the guys who requested it! By the way, I actually still have the Spider Trike set, and I didn’t see any problems with it.
Funny enough that C-3PO set would have been amazing if they had used silver instead of gold and then marketed as episode 1 C-3PO instead of episode 5 C-3PO, because it actually looks incredibly accurate to that one... and also classify it as a display figure not a playable one 🤖💛🤷🏼♂️ ~Adam
Hey I have a video idea for you, Strider... how about, the top ? missed opportunities for Lego sets/ mini figures from great tv shows and movies. For example, Goosebumps, Miraculous, Nickalodian, DC, DreamWorks etc. Could be fun. Hope you recover soon, dude. 🙂👍
6:45 I had a set with a Vader like that, the light up head button. They were ever so slightly clunkier pieces, and you couldn’t take the heads off like normal mini figs
Biggest problem for Jack Stone? No bricks to create a support frame. Meaning the glider wings have no way to stay steady and flap-drop before they can attempt gliding.
I have a revamped version of the lego Aragog it looks awesome and it looks much better and its better about the design for Aragog and its much more true to the in movie spider. I have almost all the lego hp sets but they keep adding more to it🤣
I used to have one or two of the Lego Ben 10 Constrax sets, and I can definitely state that even as a Ben 10 fan, the Humungosaur set was a disappointment because of how it looked and because the pieces were hollow from the back. The sets that I thought that actually looked good for displaying were the ones based on Big Chill, Spidermonkey, and Chromastone.
As a kid I remember liking those sets a lot because you could make some pretty wild designs when you mixed the pieces together like using the torso pieces and hands and using multiple sets of limb pieces to give them long arms and you made so really cool looking stuff at least to me back then. So humongusaur provided me with more peices for that if anything so I didn't really care how it looked on its own
Glad you aren't feeling too bad with Covid! It unfortunately got me too a couple of weeks back. Luckily nothing severe, but did completely lay me up in bed for a few days
You totally just blew my mind with the Galador McDonald's sets(or however you spell it) As a kid, I had that blue alien, and when you're poor you just kind of played with what you had, and I always wondered if it was from something, but I never figured it out because I was like 3 when the show would've aired. I had forgotten about it, and probably would've never have thought about it again, but the closure for my inner child is good, thank you sir
Always a good day when strider uploads! Love the Lego themed videos. I actually got the Spider-Trike when it released. (Only for electro) Get well soon, btw.
As a LEGO enjoyer, my thoughts on the sets: 10. Not much creativity with the spider design, also not much to do with the set so not a fun set for me. 9. The set I hate the most as the vehicle is not fun to play with, and mad that this is 1 of 2 sets that include electro, and it's the ultimate version of the character, which I hate the most as a lazy redisgn as he just looks like Living Lazer or Living Lightning instead. 8. Not interesting, and the minifigures fall out, the only interesting thing is the light function of the set. 7. I hate that this is one of the few Ben 10 sets, and it looks ugly and incomplete, which is saying something compared to how LEGO made the Avatar The Last Airbender set. 6. Would have work as the episode 1 version, but still would not have sold well. 5. A set I got on sale, and the reason Mace Window is here as a reference to the 2003 Clone Wars show when Mace crushes Grevious body to give him the cough we hear in Episode 3. Although, not worth the price as Mace only has the generic black lego head and doesn't stand out. 4. Can't comment as I never liked any of the Eternal sets that they showed. 3. Terrible set with nothing to do with the set, and I don't like it. 2. I am still mad that this even made it past the development phase as it's a terrible set that shouldn't exist as a LEGO product. 1. I have no comment, the set just speaks for itself.
Interesting thing about the Spider-Trike. In 1973, there was a comic in which Spider-Man is approached by a car company to make a Spider-Mobile, which Spider-Man initially thinks is a dumb idea. The only reason he goes along with the idea is because (at that point in the comics) he was desperate for rent money.

its so so so funny to me that the lego galidor happy meal toys are here, because I distinctly remember being in preschool and I was a HUGE lego fan, had all the galidor sets, and for some reason, on some kids birthday they brought in those happy meal toys as a party favors, but only for their friends, so i never got one. 6:46 it was short lived because it was a piece of tech. As in the whole Minifigure was not a Minifigure, but a casket where all the mechanics where hidden, so, the heads didn't come apart, the hands didn't moved and the legs didn't came out as well so you couldn't take away Obi-wan's Lightsaber and put on Quigon for instance. All of those where not part of the lego system
18:37 yeah, this
Spiderman with his own supermobile like Batman looks kinda cursed💀💀💀💀💀
Strider I'd really like you to talk about more creepy dark and disturbing cartoons
Actually yes
Hey strider i have a question for you, i know youre a huge sponge bob fan and i just wanted to know if you've seen/heard of sponge bob the musical before? If not i think you would really love it cause its super well made and even has a proshot available to watch! I would love to hear your opinion on it, wether it's a short video or just a little comment.
Thanks for this lego list :)
I saw it few days ago but i can watch it again
Galidor looks like a mix of Robot Chicken background characters
LEGO Aragog is an evolution of a huntsman spider. Tired of being stepped on, it evolved to lose its soul but gain ultimate protection from its primary predator...the human foot. Even shoes cannot damage its black plastic exoskeleton and the human foot avoids preying on it because it knows not to touch the alarming and pain-inducing LEGO bricks on the exoskeleton.
Love me some Legos. And I hope you quickly recover from Covid, Strider

As someone who had Covid myself, it really bites not only the dust, but ALL the sand at the beach. Please try to get better, Strider, we still love you and wish you well. Keep being you and reviewing what you enjoyed the most. Thank you for everything, mate, and always remember to have fun! 😎👍😇🙏❤️☕️🎼🎵🎶
Please do Banned and Censored cartoon network episodes.
Hey Strider. I hope you recover well from Covid
Would have been much better at $20
I thought that the Technic C-3PO was supposed to be his unfinished appearance from episode 1.
Ngl, the Lego Nick from Galidor figure looks like a melted dollar store Mega Man toy you'd find in the clarence bin.
Even then that is being a little too nice
8:16, he's actually a plumber.
Im pretty sure the C3PO set was made around episode 1s release. Looks to be the version of C3PO that Anakin hasn’t finished building yet. It would explain why the set looks so unfinished.
Doesn’t explain why some of the pieces are gold
It seems to me like it's more so a product of it's time than anything else. I've personally noticed that many of the oldest Lego Star Wars sets were nowhere near the quality they are today, comparing the oldest version of the Millennium Falcon set they ever made with the more recent versions of the set gives me at least a pretty decent idea of just how far these sets have come. Because of this, I don't think it's any secret that the set looked as bad as it did, especially given Lego's reluctance to make an abundance of new pieces for a certain set due to how much it would cost them to develop them
The voice you gave Klokriecher at 17:20 killed me so hard I don't know why
14:57 just letting you know, those are called power blasts, by pressing on the sides of them while they are in minifigures hands they launch out of a minifigures hands. They actually shoot pretty far
9:54 man Freddy Fazbear has seen better days
lol
"Looks like a Chinese bootleg toy, assembled by the blind, and warped in the microwave for a few minutes". oh gawd, you actually made me spit take my tea all over my screen! 😀
1:09
Australian heritage just got Thanos snapped
I'm sorry you're feeling stuffy. Hope you get well soon. Sending Love and Prayers.
honestly, being able to send spiderman catapulting out of the spider trike makes it my favorite just because of how funny it is to just send him flying
That first one just made me wanna see what Lucas and Aragog would be like if paired up
8:10 I’m pretty sure it’s a cross between a werewolf and a dinosaur by the look of the head and tail, but that’s just me.
Seeing that now, it looks horrendous.
pretty sure the C3PO was supposed to be the character before he had all the gold plating. essentially when anakin was still working on him
I hope you feel better soon Strider! I’ve loved your content for years, thanks for everything 😄
Oh! I have the Grievous Speeder! I only bought it for Grievous and Windu. It was on sale in a grocery store for $15, so I thought it was a steal
I have those Galidor toys still! I had doubles that I never opened. Never thought I'd see something about them again!
You say you’re not fond of spiders and then you show close ups up Aragog… thanks my arachnophobia went through the roof 😂
I get it. I'm terrified of spiders....but Lucas gets a pass. He's just too adorable to be scary.
"Lego Spider-Man 2: Doc Ock's Crime Spree"
In 2004 (Which was when Spider-Man 2 came out) Lego released a special 4+ set (if you can believe it) for the movie. This bound to be THE worst Spiderman set in history of Lego Spiderman!
i think the technic c-3po might be based on his appearence from episode 1, where he was shown incomplete.
I can’t imagine being a kid in the late 90’s and going to the store to pick out a Lego set and you choose the znap jet car and then go home and build it just to realize it looks like something you would do for a group project
Was waiting for this Lego list. (Also, I like spiders.)
Spiders are underrated
Spiders are the best!
The new set just looks puny in comparison.
strider you should cover the best lego stopmotions cause some people are really good at it
Ooh I enjoy those!
Hope dtnaglia studios or the x fighters series (later seasons) are on here
Me when I see those two Lego lightsabers light up in the first set: time to combine both sets
Hey, Stridor! Thanks for making this video! I’m happy to be one of the guys who requested it! By the way, I actually still have the Spider Trike set, and I didn’t see any problems with it.
I question too how that Znap set even managed to even get past as a car, like, it doesn't even look like something by Kenex would make.
I’m absolutely devastated that you have COVID at the moment, Stridey. I hope you get well soon. Great Top 10 List as always. 💚
4:22 you could also say this looks like something straight out of mario kart
Funny enough that C-3PO set would have been amazing if they had used silver instead of gold and then marketed as episode 1 C-3PO instead of episode 5 C-3PO, because it actually looks incredibly accurate to that one... and also classify it as a display figure not a playable one 🤖💛🤷🏼♂️
~Adam
I always thought that the weird C-3PO technic set was supposed to be like incomplete C-3PO from episode 1
You seem to dislike McDonald's toys, so I think you should make a "10 worst McDonald's toys" in the future
Nowadays its kinda justified, since they are produced in an evil country; China.
I have almost all the lego hp sets but they keep adding more to it🤣
I don’t know why, but I was so excited to see Miss Fisher appear in your NordVPN bit. 💀 I love that show.
The speeder having Mace is due to it being based off of a canceled episode from Season 7
The C-3P0 looks like the version in Phantom Menace when Anakin didn’t get to finish building him😂 great video btw!❤️
The technic C3Po looks some what cool to me. I would definitely buy it.
Yeah, it has some custom potential
You mean foo fighters?
@@KnuttDog what?
@@unused-d4r The c3po looks like foo fighters from jojo
@@KnuttDog OOOOH! ok.
You totally just blew my mind with the Galador McDonald's sets(or however you spell it)
As a kid, I had that blue alien, and when you're poor you just kind of played with what you had, and I always wondered if it was from something, but I never figured it out because I was like 3 when the show would've aired.
I had forgotten about it, and probably would've never have thought about it again, but the closure for my inner child is good, thank you sir
Ooh, I've heard actually getting it is a pain in the ass
It attacks differently based on blood type.
@@psychedelicpayroll5412 ooh, never knew that
My local Tesco has the eternal set for 4.50 as they're trying to reduce to clear, every time I've gone there they still have loads on the shelf
Always a good day when strider uploads! Love the Lego themed videos. I actually got the Spider-Trike when it released. (Only for electro) Get well soon, btw.
I wonder what are the Wierdest lego pieces?
As a LEGO enjoyer, my thoughts on the sets:

The Spider-Trike was one of my first lego sets when I was younger and I got hours of play time out of it and am surprised to see it on this list.
I actually remember the spider thing from Lego Harry Potter years 5-7 video game for the Wii.
Aragog must be one hell of a win for Lego if it makes you want to deliberately step on a Lego.
I Honestly Find the Humongousaur One Solid but Not Great and the Aragon One Looks Good,Also Can You Do Lego Harry Potter List Please Phantomstriter.
its so so so funny to me that the lego galidor happy meal toys are here, because I distinctly remember being in preschool and I was a HUGE lego fan, had all the galidor sets, and for some reason, on some kids birthday they brought in those happy meal toys as a party favors, but only for their friends, so i never got one. I remember being devastated. and begging kids to give me theirs, at which point a few of the meaner kids began to throw theirs in the garbage in front of me to get a reaction.
