There is a perfume called First Class from Aromel (turkish company). I want you to help me know it is similar to any of the perfumes
@@khalidhamdy6886 Sadly I don't know this fragrance. I haven't sampled it? Where can someone buy it?
@@ThePerfumeGuy This perfume is widely available in Turkey
@@ThePerfumeGuy This perfume is very wonderful, and it smells classic, similar to an old perfume that I do not remember, and I wish you would help me with that
@@ThePerfumeGuy
I sent you a picture of this perfume in a message on your Facebook page
We need a part II, because a lot of fragrances are missing, like Antaeus, Trussardi, Fahrenheit and Cerutti 1881, Roma Uomo etc.
Égoïste is my favourite classic
Tabac by Maurer & Wurtz from 1959 still an absolute classic.
Gentleman by Oscar de la Renta is great too with a cool domino bottle.
Kouros is beast mode 80’s that still rocks.
Woodhue for Men by Faberge wasn’t Dean Martin’s favourite for nothing.
Stetson for Men
Quorum by Antonio Puig
Jade East by Swank
Kanon for Men
Yardley Gold
Giorgio of Beverly Hills Giorgio for Men
Another fantastic, and incredibly informative video! Thank you so much Sebastian!
I adore Habit Rouge 💕 So well-crafted and such a classy vibe.
Aramis! Love it! a very distinctive and quality scent! I got it 2 years ago on our trip to portugal!
Excellent choices Sebastian. I used to wear Givenchy when i was 18 ....
I remember wearing Pino Sylvester, Halston Z14, Halston 101, Zino Davidoff, Contidiction by Calvin, Nicole Miller, The original Dior Homme was amazing! Curve, Mambo, so many classics from back in the day!
Great video, and lots of memories in the list. I’m sure you could do a part 2……please?
What a great trip down memory lane Sebastian, Aramis was one of my first fragrances as was Guy Laroche DraKkar Noir as well as Zino Davidoff. Thanks - Cheers Brutha 😎PS. I still have my original Polo Green too 😁
Azzaro pour homme was the first fragrance I owned as a 12 year old. My cousin bought it for me on my birthday and she was shocked that what I asked for was a fragrance. One of my favourites still. Fahrenheit, Eau Sauvage, Quorum, Kouros were always in my father's rotation, God bless his soul. Great video Sebastian.
Old school,my favorite kinds of fragrance, I am always looking for these types of scents and any new stuff that gives a nod to the retro style.
I still regularly wear and enjoy all of these (minus ‘Pleasures’, the ‘Kenzo’, and the ‘Loewe’) - great presentation!
I remember getting my dad Aramis aftershave for Christmas when I was about 11, I loved to sneak splashes of it.
Great list...Zino Davidoff is great..my favourite one
This is straight up my alley sir! Excelent choices. I actualy own 4 of these 13 perfumes and my collection only counts 13 perfumes (my own "Dirty Dozen" as I call them).
Didn't think I'd see Drakkar Noir on your list, given how ultra-sophisticated/upscale/niche your reviews generally are (in a good way, I mean)! And totally happy to see it--it's such a classic (fellow 80's kid here). So zing-y...like putting your tongue to the top of a 9 volt battery. Need to get some.
Jaipur Homme EDP from Boucheron is my everyday signature scent. I'm 35 and I find myself wearing this almost daily, it's a no brainer. Read many reviews saying this smells like an old man but that didn't deter me and I'm glad it didn't! I find a lot of younger folks especially Gen Z's are drawn by the scent, I get asked what I'm wearing quite a fair bit. I suppose in a sea of Sauvages and Eros it definitely does stand out. So classic yet timeless, a beautiful amalgamation of French high perfumery and Eastern ingredients. Love it!
I have a collection of fragrances that are have been perfumed post 2000's.
I'm sure there are a few "ol' school" gems that are still relevant today! 🤔
I think I'm going to try Issey Miaki Pour Homme!😊
Do you like Boucheron Pour Homme?
@@baseedalilaskar4956 yes but not as much as I like Jaipur EDP. just a matter of personal preference.
I have the Aramis, Givenchy and Eau Sauvage. First two are great cold weather scents. Eau Sauvage is THE best summer scent. But the most versatile old-school scent is Chanel Pour Monsieur. Day, night, date, formal, work, summer, winter - it is never wrong to wear it.
Paul Sebastian is a classic I wore in high school back in 1986. Cliff from Georgia
Definitely loved this. Part 2 is warranted for sure.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great list! I was expecting cool water & GIT also.
My personal favorite retro fragrance is Halston 101 (Top Notes are Bergamot, Clary Sage, Amalfi Lemon, Lavender and Artemisia ... Heart Notes are Thyme, Pine, Laurel Leaves, Caraway, Geranium and Carnation ... and Base Notes are Leather, Virginia Cedar, Tree Moss, Amber and Musk).
Oscar De La Renta Gentleman in the Domino bottle is amazing. Very affordable just like Pour Lui as well. Although I could only buy 50ml bottles..
I own and enjoy some of the ones mentioned in this video, e.g. "Drakkar Noir" and Kenzo "Jungle Homme". To this list I would add: Hugo Boss "Hugo", "Bijan for Men", and Michael Jordan "Legend".
Davidoff Zino, Lapidus Pour Homme and especially Oscar De La Renta Pour Lui are mainstays for me. Great scents.
Another ones still smelling good today :
1/ Pasha Cartier edt
2 / Guerlain Vétiver
3/ 3ème Homme Caron
4/ Opium Ysl edt
5/ L'Homme Cacharel
6/ Pour homme Enrico Coveri
7/ Homme Boucheron edp
8/Homme Roger&Gallet
9/ L'Homme III Ungaro
10/ White Sergio Soldano
These are the fragrances I grew up with. For me, Eau Sauvage and Fougère Royale are absolutely magnificent and timeless classics; they'll still smell fabulous and be germane decades from now.
I adore and truly respect you and your videos.
If you ask me if I want a part 2 of this video, I respond with abig YES PLEASE!!!
omg, this shoots me back to those glory days ❤ (I even had Jungle by Kenzo... where’s Antaeus?)
Hi Sebastian I am sort of a newbie with fragrances and very interested in learning as much as I can about them. Can you please do a video on perfumes with Pheromones? By the way…I like your long videos! Thanks
I was just thinking about buyimg Jaipur homme to my bf, very happy to have your review on it
Aramis was the fragrance that steered me away from Brut in the 1970s. But Eau Sauvage and Givenchy Gentleman became my signature scents in the 80s. Still my favourites. I'm waiting for a delivery of Habit Rouge. That and Héritage are absolute classics. Jaipur is beautifully made but I'm afraid that people will think I smell like a curry house when I wear it. I used to work near the Floris shop on Jermyn St. and spent many happy lunchtimes in there.
DAMN Lauder Pleasures. I thought only I liked that. My ex in 97 loved this and she had me wearing it. So yeah it takes me back. It is one i definitely want for my collection when i have the funds. And kindred spirits. I totally wore Drakkar in high school in the 80s and also have sort of grown our of it but i also have a 6.7 oz bottle i got as a gift.
Great video. I was born in 1998, and I'm a big fan of old school perfumes. My picks for part no.2 are: Kouros, Giorgio for Men, Boss number one, Lapidus pour homme, Fahrenheit, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme and Azzaro Pour Homme.
Great choices
Part 2 ...please !!! You could even do a Part 3..lol......!!!!!
I own all of these.....and each one brings certain memories back.
Off topic, but really curious about this note vulcanolide? “A Firmenich captive that Morillas used to famously brilliant effect in CK One”. I saw the note being used in a couple of fragrances on lucky scent today. I’m assuming there has to be a number of frags since the 90’s this has been used in . Anyway, be a cool video. CKONE stole my 14 year old heart in the 90’s with it’s androgenous-ness. Shocked to find this was used in it-no wonder I’ve never smelled anything similar.
Took me years back , great review
Cartier Santos, Bucheron pour homme, Armani pour homme are my classic favorite fragrance.
What are your thoughts on Fahrenheit by Dior? I remember loving it back in the day. I gifted it to my brother for one of his birthdays waaaay back.
Awesome list! We have the same taste for the most part! I love the vintage Polo. The new formulation is horrible though lol!
No Moustache by Rochas? It's an old one (late 1940s IIRC) yet still pretty popular. :)
Fahrenheit was released in 88 still relevant today and will still be relevant in 2050 and beyond imo . Talk about timeless . It didn’t use any trends that were used in the 80s or 90s . No oak moss no carnation no lavender . Nothing like it then nothing like it now
Agreed!!
@@norarazaai okay.okay.
Armani Eau Pour Homme should also be on the list! One of the most classic manly scents
Lots of fougeres here. One vote here for Van Cleef & Arpels Tsar. Stuff is still awesome!
Awesome video! Can you please let me know if there are other fragz that smell like polo green. I love the DNA. Are there any clones, designers, or niche recommendations. I think fragrances are going to make there way back to these OG's! Another video like this would be awesome.
Try Loewe Esencia EDT. ruclips.net/video/mBvWJ94368E/видео.html
Drakkar Noir is still powerful and long lasting for me. Unlike Cool Water it doesn't smell overly synthetic like an air freshener. I love Cool Water but some cheapies, including Cool Water, smell good but extremely synthetic.
Drakkar noir is awesome, timeless its still in my rotation today and gets me compliments more than expensive and more modern fragrances
I would even include Aqua Di Gio, Blue De Chanel and Abercrombie Fierce... they changed the game and are still popular to this day
Great video with some great choices in there and i enjoyed it I'm a big fan of old school fragrances and have a blessed night
Thanks for the very good review!
My pleasure!
Awesome list Sebastian! I really need to try Aramis. You’re 100% spot-on about the Polo dry-down. It used to smell incredible!
Thanks for your list! One that I have always loved and miss the original very much, is Tsar by Van Cleef and Arpels in the dark green bottle. A real comment getter. The original was so good! The knock-offs that followed were lousy. :(( Another favorite had been Bijan for Men. Where have all the good ones gone?
No Dune Pour Homme? I’ve been wearing since ‘96 or 97 and still wear it regularly. Good list, I wore at least three bottles of Drakkar Noir and Polo Green back in the day.
Leaving room for part 2 and 3! ;)
Please do a part two. Thanks.
I remember Pleasures for women. I lot of my friends wore it at university. I don't remember how it smelled though.
Paco Rabane sadly passed away Friday at 88. I'm wearing his Victory smells good.
Al-Rehab Dakar is a great alternative to Drakkar Noir. Projects heavy and lasts for 7-8 hours.
Every time you mention stealing sprays from your dad, i remember doing the same. My dads all time favourite is Leau Dissey and i used it all the time. Although, now that i have my own collection, my dad is stealing back the sprays. My tastes in perfume definitely came from him 😁
Oh yes. I remember growing up my Dad wore Aramis.
My all-time favorite scent for men is grey flannel... It was reformulated, waterdown and reformulated again, because the Blue version was horrible. Now it smells close to the original and has a lasting scent like the original too.
Hi Sebastian!!!
I wonder if you smell already
Charles Jourdan cologne for man And if you have any video thanks
I have bottles of all these except the Estee Lauder, Loewe, and Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui. I have Oscar for Men by Oscar de la Renta from 1999 that I like better. I think those two were the only Oscar de la Renta masculines. My Dad wore Aramis too. I've got ot sprayed on test strip now. Chant based it on his feminine-targeted (if you can believe that) Cobachard from the 1950's. The Floris fragrance I like best is Elite from 1980. It's a Fougere, which I don't think No. 89 really is.
Drakkar take me back to middle school. Woah and Pleasures, that takes me back as well. If we're talking 90's, I think you missed "cool water" and "tommy" from Tommy Hilfiger.
Jaipur Pour Homme is a fantastic fragrance. Oscar De La Renta Pour Lui is my frag of the day. I like Zino as well.
Oh heck yes. Love the classics!!
I feel so old. I have everyone of these in my collection 😂😂 Part 2 please.
To those reading this Polo was reformulated yet again in 2019 to smell alit closer to the original. So sometimes when people talk about the bad reformulation they may not have tried 2019 and up. Have you smelled the 2019 versions Sebastian?
Armarni EAU POUR HOMME (1984) is the one I think about! The current reformulated version is quite Good also.
i was disappointed in zino when i got it
i might want to revisit
Great video! Not a criticism, just an observation, but for me the Gentleman and Eau Sauvage chapters are the wrong way round
Paco Rabanne pour Homme is great as well.
🤟😃 Part 2 for sure. I love classics
Ordered Lui - Let‘s see 😂
👍😉 Pour Lui was a good choice. Soapy, oakmossy 80th scent with a beautiful balssmic drydown. Not to get judged before! great cheapy!
While listening to the notes mentioned, I now realized why I gravitated towards the men's counter
Have you tried Pleasures Intense...it's a solid flanker from 2005 very Green Citrus 🥝🍋 & Aromatic with Herbal notes of 🍅leaf & 🥬 celery...with a 🪵 base💯
I wore Kenzo in the 90’s and a friend of mine just recently text me and said she was going up the escalator and someone rushed past her smelling of Kenzo. She said it transported her to our youthful shenanigans immediately. Scent memory is very vivid.
Jaipur Homme smells so much more expensive than it is. I wear it exclusively for formal occasions. Same with Habit Rouge EDP. I only recently realized that I didn't have the original Habit Rouge. How different is the EDT?
Gucci Nobile is one of these timeless Masterpieces. One if not the best aromatic fougere I've ever smelled. Unfortunately discontinued in 2003 that's why most of people don't know about it😔
Pls try Emernigildo Zegna pour homme, perhaps you'll incd next.
& I think you should incd Bijan that you get fr storage haul
Hahaha
I think Caron needs to be among this group of perfumes
Absolutely!
Interesting list, but you're missing Azzaro Pour Homme, which is one of the more important ones.
I'm 58 and in my late teens and early 20's used to wear Jacomo. Great fragrance, but unsure if this one is still in the market.
It's still available at online discounters.
Royal Copenhagen, Kouros, halston z-14, artaeus
My father wore Drakkar Noir. He passed away Oct. 2022. I have his last bottle, and once in awhile I spray some to remind me of him...
Awe, so sad. My dad passed away in September of 2005, 14 days before my birthday. So I did end up with his entire collection of fragrances which was great back then. Even though I had given them all to him it was a way for me to remember him for sure having his fragrances! :)
Those were the days.....when his fragrance entered the room before he did. Great vid 👌
Did you feel like Chanel Egoiste or Platinum Egoiste were close to being on this list?
My dad wore Aramis too 👍🏻
This should be a 10-part series
Hoping to do a second sometime soon. 😀
Is kerosene Triptych considered aromatic and/or fougiere?
When I was a kid in the '90s my dad had an aftershave balm that was sort of a milky caramel color. It smelled sweet with tobacco, spice, pepper, amber. Almost like D&G The One way before that existed, but in an aftershave balm which was quite strong as I recall. I loved that scent, but I can't remember the label for the life of me and wonder if it's still around. Anyone happen know what fragrance I'm talking about?
What year exactly? And do you remember what the balm was packaged in? Glass, plastic etc? And was it a liquid or like a lotion?
I smelled Eau Sauvage recently and thought of it as a perfect white shirt summer frag. Is the modern formulation the same formulation he describes in this video?
Yes. I describe the modern version.
Polo Green!
I really wish grey flannel would have gotten reformulated!
Jaipur was my favorite in the 90s
These are fragrances that even if they are still being produced 100 years from now, will still be relevant and sell well.
Ted Lapudus ,Karl Legerfeld,Quarim, Geonfraco Ferre.
I will do a part two! :)
HI SEBASTIAN HOW ARE YOU IM GOOD HOW MANY PERFUMES DO YOU HAVE AGAIN XXX
Blind bought Pour Lui last year, nice but horrifyingly it's got a distinct exact Ck Obsession undertone, apart from that I'd recommend but if u despise Obsession like I do stay away
Joop still a fantastic sweetie and beastly!!
Habit Rouge is my big secret 😅. I didn’t want anyone else but my husband to smell that good.
More popular older fragrances: 1) Sung for Men (Alfred Sung)...2) Kouros (YSL)...3) Liz Claiborne for men (LC)...4) Paco Rabanne...5) Lapidus Pour Homme (Ted Lapidus)
And don’t forget TSAR by Van Cleef & Arpels ❤❤
Fun fact Floris Is the fragrance that James Bond wears and referenced in the novels
Oh yes.
