Thanks for this video, Ashton. Great for older guys like me, you, and the others that clicked because the word older guys was in caps and bold so they could see it.
Just turned 57, my favs are Luna Rossa Carbon, Mont Blanc Legend Spirit, Hanae Mori, and Varvatos Oud, which is surprisingly similiar to my old standby, Halston Z-14.
Yep on Guerlain Vetiver. High up on the list of this 60 year old. I would also add Creed Royal Oud. Ralph Lauren Polo Green is my favorite scent of all, and I consider it to be the best representation of the ideal "scent of a man". And if that is true, Royal Oud represents that man if he were to be coronated as a King.
I only have TDH and I will not need you as I will be busy watching Columbo as it gets better compliments and with 10 seasons actually has better longevity than Matlock.
I got 2 out of the top 10: Eau Sauvage (a classic) Terre d'Hermes EDT (finishing 2nd bottle very soon). Love this perfume, as it is very versatile, and I got compliments.
I just retired at 65 and rocking most of the frags in this video! Also love youthful frags! Thanks for your content and comments about wearing what you want, when you want! Thanks Ash.
Nice list. As an older gent I own all but one. I'm not a fan of Sauvage, give me Eau Sauvage any day. I typically reach for Bleu De Chanel for a blue fragrance. That said I really don't care for overly sweet fragrances either. Thanks for the content
im 70 years old i wear what i like from Brut to dior savage. i even wear 1 million and everyone loves it on me. a scent is a scent and has no age rating
Interesting list .. I don’t have Acqua Essenzialle Colonia but will be getting . I do have Acqua Di Palma Colonia and at 63 it is an easy reach . I said funny because my favorite mature Blue is Acqua Essenzialle Blue .. ( my wife would not agree , she would choose Sauvage EDP or Dylan Blue ). I agree with Terre D Hermès … I was surprised Aqua Di Gio didn’t make the cut ? Another I thought might make the list would be Mont Blanc Legend ?
Growing older is a privilege that many never get to experience, that said at the age of 63 I really enjoy tom ford oud Wood, cdni, Varvatos Artisan, D&G Light Blue Intense for summer. Always enjoy your work 💪
As an old school alternative to the old school vetiver in Terre De Hermes there is always Guerlain Vetiver. I have never gotten a bad remark wearing it, it lasts literally for days, and it's relatively cheap. I have had people think I am wearing insect repellent when I have on TdH numerous times as it can come off a little bit DEET at times. Which I like the smell of DEET but still... Of course I have found that really ALL off the frags that are from about 1970 and below are still around for a reason excluding the really cheap ones which British Sterling may be fun but it isn't gonna be a crowdpleaser. Keep it above $30 and all of the old schools are still winners.
Guerlain Vetiver is fantastic. Similar to TF Grey Vetiver but a bit more citrus and less dry. Terre d'Hermes Eau Extreme Vetiver is like halfway between Terre d'Hermes Parfum and Guerlain Vetiver.
I’m turning 37 and this vid has a bunch of stuff that I enjoy wearing time to time , Not crazy about the TDH line but I like Bottega Veneta PH and Lancome Hypnose!
Finally!!! Someone said it wear what you want and when. I get so tired of hearing about wearing a certain fragrance during a certain season. Girl wear that Libre le Parfum in July!
This theme could use an update. At 65 I’m suddenly conscious of wearing something scents, while beautiful, don’t feel right in the wearing. I’ve a sampler package of Acqua di Parma Blue scents and a couple of them feel more timeless than, say, my Mancera collection. I’d like to hear your take on contemporary scents for the older gent.
After going through 100+ fragrances in over 20 years of collecting, I have narrowed it down to TF Grey Vetiver for a true modern classic fresh scent and LV Ombre Nomade for all other occasions. The original 90s version of D&G pour homme was an amazing scent for the price at the time (still have a couple of unopened bottles), the current Intenso gives a similar vibe to the original but unfortunately there are noticeable differences in smell as well as performance.

@ 56 I guess I'm "old" but I can say kouros, paco rabanne pour homme, emporio Armani, D&G the one Edp, kilian angel's share, silver mountain water, and most of the Bentley fragrances have given me pleasure over the years....
I love some “ older guy “ and I’m only 24 colognes and I wear some winter in warmer weather I get weird looks when I tell people lol only bad thing is that for some reason my skin doesn’t allow cologne to last long so I have to carry my bottle and re-spray after a couple of hours.

I was born in 1967 so I suppose I'd be considered an "older guy." A word to non-older guys - time flies! But anyway I agree with most of your choices here but I'd add a few like Chanel Anteaus, Lapidus Pour Homme, Yatagan by Caron, Boucheron Pour Homme EDP and...Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense.
As a now retired septuagenarian, I too have to give a "thumbs up" to Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense. My favorite scent for the office back in the day. Most all of my female colleagues found favor with it...
Ash, One of the best lists You have ever produced. I would wear all of them. In fact, there is a few in my collection. And yes i am a man of a certain age. Perhaps Armani Homme and something from Guerlain? As in Homme. Thank you.
