HI. I really enjoyed your video. Just found your chanel. I have a question: Can you suggest a fragance similar or very close to Ralph Laurent Romance for Man? Thanks
I'm a 51 year old guy and I had so many of these back in the day, still use Declaration and Egoiste, and man Minotaur was such a beast when it was released so surprised it's so weak now 😔. Thanks for the trip down memory lane 🙂👌
Minotaure gave away some little clay-like pieces that were simulated broken pottery when Minotaure first came out. They were saturated with the fragrance and made wonderful air fresheners for one's automobile, sweaters, study, etc.
11:05 I still have a bottle of Pleasures from early 2000s. My first perfume that I bought for myself (I was 17 back then) I use it very sparringly so I still have half a bottle left. My current favourite is Clinique Happy. Good to know that these two still smell kind of same
Fantastic video, Sebastian! Some of the fragrances definitely brought back some fond 90s memories! Only 90s fragrance that I still wear till this day is Bvlgari Pour Homme and it's a shame they decided to discontinue it. Some of the 90s fragrances that I wore heavily that were not listed in your video are: Polo Sport, Ralph Lauren Safari and Issey Miyake L'eau d'Issey Pour Homme.
Drakkar Noir, Jazz by YSL, Davidoff Cool Water were very cool back then, Hugo man and Herrera for men. I think CK one and Allure are still top and more because not many people use it today. Nice video.
This is such a great video down 90s mens scents memory lane Sebastian. My husband loved many of these. the Paloma Picasso he wore so much. He also wore Eternity and Pleasures. Happy also he wore but after the 90s in the 2000s. I loved how Happy smelled on him. I'm going to get him to watch this one. Thanks for a wonderful video.
WHAT A LIST..... Well done! I didn't expect Heritage to be at No. 1 even a tiny bit (although It's one of my favorites ever)! So happy to see people still giving respect to the oldies that they deserve.
Me too. Three sprays and I'm good for the entire day, and well into the night. Angel Men, Blue Jeans, and The Dreamer still perform very well on me too. They must've been radioactive in Sebastian's heyday.
It's still my favorite casual summer/gym frag. I'm 31 and even though it was around when I was younger I'm not nostalgic for it. Just a great fragrance.
A great great video...but Sebastian you did not add 212 men created by Alberto molilas... it a great fresh fragrance from late 90s futures a lot of green note...please check that one for me...thanks
I love these, and I would agree of the ones on the list I've tried , Heritage is the best. What a masterpiece. One I also adore from that decade would be Valentino's now sadly discontinued 1991 Vendetta Uomo, which may be the best men's leather fragrance I've ever owned.
I never knew how much eternity has changed!! Wish I could’ve smelled the old formulation! I have blue jeans but I’m selling it! Fragrance last a long time for the price!
I used to spray occasionally my dad's Eternity (that's where my love for manly fragrances started), but I used to bathe in CK one 🤣 never liked Acqua DG or anything Versace 😣 still like Chrome 😍
I just bought myself a vintage bottle of Herrera For Men (1991) and it smells really great! Probably one of the best men's fragrances from the 90s. It came out a few years before Dolce and Gabbana Pour Homme which has a VERY similar tobacco note. Unfortunately Herrera For Men got watered down throughout the years and I think it's no longer in production.
Carolina Herrera 212 Men is an iconic one for me and still one of my favourite things to smell on my man. I just found him 100ml bottle of Azzaro Chrome in TK Maxx for £10 and he loves it. Great video 💎
You are the first professional I've seen do a review on pleasures for men, by Estee Lauder and I think it smells great still I've been wearing it for 15 years.and still currently do in fact I just bought a bottle today!
Great video! And this of course picks the interest in potential similar videos for other decades :) I do like Heritage EDT, but from the 90's the fragrance I'd say I like the current smell of the most I think would be Boucheron Jaipur EDP. Might not be so well known or iconic though. Other than that one maybe Le Male.
Jaipur used to be my signature fragrance. EDP in the winter and the EDT in the late Fall and early Spring. I still wear it today, just not as much. I’ve never seen a good video review of it.
Love love these kind of videos and enjoy them so much, pls do 70s, 80s and even 60s if you can, however you left off joop homme, facconable pour homme, claude montana homme, lalique pour homme with the lion head and hugo boss hugo
One of my favorites is Gravity but current formulations don't smell nearly as good as it used to. Throughout my 20s (late 90s to early 2000s) it was my signature. I haven't had a bottle or worn it in years, though.
Were you not a fan of Halston Catalyst or did you just never get a chance to smell it? It was one of my 1990's favorites. The last EA Fragrances version wasn't as complex or as smooth as the original, but the general scent was still there, and it still had nice longevity. The beaker bottles were cool and the aftershave was a 2 color mixture that had to be shaken before use.
Platinum Égoïste was my signature in the 90’s. Would it still ”bring me back” or is it too different? ( to think, i only wore one fragrance back then. )
Never tried Guerlain Heritage, but it's hard for me to imagine that it can be better than the Chanel Egoists, both platinum and regular (the degree of filling of the bottles of the author of the video speaks of this).
Yes, please, 90's top 10 for women. Blind bought 3 Cartier men scents from Amazon a dozen years ago for next to nothing. El hub & I used them up & throughly enjoyed.
great vlog.. Please make a video on those 90s discontinued great fragrances which are closest to any available such as Versace Versus Uomo, Givenchy Incense etc similar fragrances.
Hi Mr Sebastian, good day to you.. 😊👋🏻 Thanks for the video because it bring me back to the “memory’s lane”.. I don’t have any fragrances from your list but I used to smell it back in the 90s (My uncles wore them a lot, especially Hugo & Tommy) I don’t see any Safari EDT from your list Mr Sebastian? 🤔 (My uncles also been using Safari by Ralph Lauren.. I do like the smell.. 😊) Back in the 90s.. I only been using X Limited by Aigner & Activist by Body Shop.. 😊 But anyway, thank you again for the video.. I really enjoyed watching it Mr Sebastian.. 🥰👍🏻
Gucci just discontinues everything except for Guilty, and the best fragrances from the Guilty line have even been discontinued. It's a shame because that's a house that has a lot of really critically acclaimed banger fragrances that you can't reasonably afford anymore. Cheers to Chanel and Guerlain especially for more or less keeping all of their classic fragrances and not only that, but keeping them smelling good too.
OMG I remember all these fragrances from the 90’s. I lived in LA and when I went clubbing I would always one of these on the men that either was a friend of mine or I dated. LOL Especially Calvin Klein Eternity, wow that was a major hitter then!
Bit late coming to this .. great video … but like u I loved the original Happy and not impressed with the newer one …. Could you recommend a scent similar to the original in style and scent ? PaulW.
Been wearing Este Lauder Pleasures for Men since 2002. It's my signature scent, but I definitely noticed it's gotten weaker over the past few years sadly, but can't find anything I like as much. Totally forgot about Hugo by Hugo Boss from the list, loved that one back in the 90's.
I’m a big fan of yours and I value your opinion dearly and would be grateful if you could answer my question … which Chanel cologne would you say is better or just as good as platinum Chanel I’m kind of stuck on it but I want to explore the house of Chanel hopefully you respond 🙏🏽 god bless family
Luckily still have a bottle of Pleasures from the early 2000s. Don't get much spice from it though. The peachy/meloniness subtley reminds me of the synthetic mango in Polo Black - which I also have a vintage bottle of and it's a BEAST. The reform of Eau de Rochas not too bad either. I have both formulations and the original is simply a bit more floral. Kind of reminds me of the L'eau d'Issey reform. Less floral, and the EDTFraiche flanker basically cuts out everything but the citrus and spice.
I'm going to try out the Cartiers (Déclaration et Pasha) at a local department store; thanks for the recommendations, and L'Eau d'Issey pour homme (not on the list but in one of the comments)
I think it would be good if you tell also on what basis you picked these 30. I see some big missing names like: several Creed, acqua di parma, lalique, Boucheron,...
There are just so many that you didn't mention and they are more well-known in compare to some you mentioned. P.s. not all of them like 50% I would say.
i would love to see a womans version, this was a good topic idea, i own and wear chanel platnum egoiste out of all in the list, i do plan on ordering kenzo jungle soon maybe this weekend.
The only one of all these that still is a a fixed part of my fragrance-stock is Boss Bottled. That one is just timeless and ageless too. I whore it when I was about 17, and I still wear it today in my 40s when it is comming to the fall-time and the appletime arives again..... great fragrance.
In 2000 I was wearing Azzaro Chrome Armani Aqua di Gio Sonia Rykiel Homme Hugo Boss Man Dior Fahrenheit Davidoff Good Life 1996 - 1999 was Paco Rabanne Excess XS , Dior Fahrenheit , Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme , Ralph Lauren Polo Sport , Tommy Hilfiger Hilfiger Athletic ,
Awe man, great list...I would replace a few with Burberry for men, Georgio Red for men and Escape and can't forget about Anucci which I still wear today😂🤣👌🏽What year did Ralph Lauren come out with Romance for men?
I got a Blue Jeans recently, it sucks now, hardly any projection now and the whole scent is completely gone after less than an hour! Just as well I only paid £15 for it.
Why didn't you include Carolina Herrera "212 Men"? I think that it's still enjoyable. Also, I enjoy Calvin Klein "Eternity EDP", I enjoy Guerlain "Heritage EDT", and I enjoy some of the other ones mentioned in this video (and some of their flankers too, e.g. "Acqua Di Gio Profumo").
@@javy-81 For me, CK "Eternity EDP" has good overall performance, and I enjoy its scent. In 2021, I got a 3.4 oz. tester bottle of it for about $25. I bought three of them.
I’m disappointed you didn’t cover Cerruti 1881 . I just got a bottle after 20 odd year hiatus and it smells more barbershop and old fashioned than I remember it! They deffo haven’t modernised it. It smelled revolutionary in 91! If anything, it’s now more vintage smelling. Is it me? Is it fashion that’s changed or is it 1881

Minotaure gave away some little clay-like pieces that were simulated broken pottery when Minotaure first came out. They were saturated with the fragrance and made wonderful air fresheners for one's automobile, sweaters, study, etc.
I was born in 1995 and i loved 90s male perfume it's just so good
Could you please do a similar video with women’s fragrances? I first became obsessed with fragrances in the 90s, so I would love a video on that🙏🏻
11:05 I still have a bottle of Pleasures from early 2000s. My first perfume that I bought for myself (I was 17 back then) I use it very sparringly so I still have half a bottle left. My current favourite is Clinique Happy. Good to know that these two still smell kind of same
I’m 25 and I love Eternity and DG Pour Homme!! Especially the latter. Grew up using Eternity and I still own 2 bottles purchased last year.
Oh great!!
Fantastic video, Sebastian! Some of the fragrances definitely brought back some fond 90s memories! Only 90s fragrance that I still wear till this day is Bvlgari Pour Homme and it's a shame they decided to discontinue it. My favorite 90's fragrance is Curve by Liz Claiborne. I still wear it but not as often as I did in the late 90's-early 2000's.
Forgot about Curve. That was a good one i bought repeatedly
This is such a great video down 90s mens scents memory lane Sebastian. My husband loved many of these. the Paloma Picasso he wore so much. He also wore Eternity and Pleasures. Thanks for sharing!!
Ahh this video brought back so many great memories! Especially Versace Blue Jeans and CK One! Made me smile…thanks Sebastian! x
Dune and Dolce& Gabbana pH are my favorite forever...Do not forget the excellent Herrera for Men.
Agree with you on #1, Heritage smells great. I also still use Egoiste and Platinum Egoiste.
Never tried Guerlain Heritage, but it's hard for me to imagine that it can be better than the Chanel Egoists, both platinum and regular.
WHAT A LIST..... Well done! I didn't expect Heritage to be at No. 1 even a tiny bit (although It's one of my favorites ever)! So happy to see people still giving respect to the oldies that they deserve.
Just chiming in to give Eternity For Men some love ❤😂 It is still an awesome smell imho
1988 by Floris is a solid, refined version of Eternity in case anyone’s interested. Discontinued but can be obtained elsewhere than from Floris’ site.
Love Egoiste, I still have my bottle from the 90's! Haven't tried the reformulation!
I’m so glad for Heritage and Declaration won first and second.
I have them both and wear them regularly.
Great video.
The current formulation of Platinum Egoiste still performs well on my skin.
Me too. Three sprays and I'm good for the entire day, and well into the night.
Angel Men, Blue Jeans, and The Dreamer still perform very well on me too. They must've been radioactive in Sebastian's heyday.
me too, projects really well and lasts all day.
Azzaro chrome! That is my wifes favorite on me! 9 years I've worn it when ever we go out! Since 2015 when we first met!
I have paloma picasso minotaure and it smells exactly like in the 90's
I love these, and I would agree of the ones on the list I've tried , Heritage is the best. What a masterpiece.
One I also adore from that decade would be Valentino's now sadly discontinued 1991 Vendetta Uomo, which may be the best men's leather fragrance I've ever owned.
Yes Heritage rocks to this day! :)
Acqua Di Gio was my jam back then. And I still rock it.
Ooh yes. In it's current formulation it's a nice easy light fresh wear! :)
@@ThePerfumeGuy I cannot wait to test the EDP version.
Me neither.
I remember a few of them. I keep using Blue Jean by Versace because it reminds me of my dad.
oh nice!! :)
I never knew how much eternity has changed!! Wish I could’ve smelled the old formulation! I have blue jeans but I’m selling it! Fragrance last a long time for the price!
Can't get enough of the 90's
Heck yes!!
How time flies. Reminisce! I remember Wings, Eternity, Blue Jeans and a few of them. Feels like yesterday, but over 20years.
Oh yes over 20 years ago! :)
Great list and I enjoyed it and you put a lot of great choices in there and have a blessed night
"Le Male...it's got legs" (it literally doesn't have legs!) 🤣🤣🤣
Outstanding list Sebastian. I only wish you could've found a place for Opium pour homme, Jaipur, and Givenchy Pi.
One of my favorites is Versace dreamer ...but now it lasts me like 20 minutes :/....
I used to spray occasionally my dad's Eternity (that's where my love for manly fragrances started), but I used to bathe in CK one 🤣 never liked Acqua DG or anything Versace 😣 still like Chrome 😍
Thanks for sharing!!
Great video! I'm with you on Chanel keeping their fragrances around. I do hope we get a new one this year. I'm hoping it isn't BDC extrait though.
Amazing list. I was hoping DK Men would've made the list. Miss that one so much
I just bought myself a vintage bottle of Herrera For Men (1991) and it smells really great! Probably one of the best men's fragrances from the 90s. It came out a few years before Dolce and Gabbana Pour Homme which has a VERY similar tobacco note.

Great fragrances Sir. Thanks for sharing. I guess some of those are not easily available in regular shops nowadays

however you left off joop homme, facconable pour homme, claude montana homme, lalique pour homme with the lion head and hugo boss hugo
I will most likely do a part two. Even though I have the Lalique I didn't wear it in the 90s! But yes I'll feature it in the follow up video! :)
You have me thinking mid late 80s
Drakar Noir
Grey Flannel
Paul Sebastián
One of my favorites is Gravity but current formulations don't smell nearly as good as it used to. Throughout my 20s (late 90s to early 2000s) it was my signature. I haven't had a bottle or worn it in years, though.
Man so many gems. I need to pull out my bottle of pleasures, haven't worn that in a long long time.
Oh yes. I just picked that up at a great great price. It's pretty decent too! Most current formulation from an Estee Lauder store. :)
Is that Guerlain Heritage EDP or EDT?
Thank You very much for this video!!
It’s very popular, to this day, to mix CK One with Oud Oil around here where I live. It smells great with Oud Oil.
Lol my son still use Clinique happy.🥰I like to use it too in the summer🥰
Great vid! 👏👏👏 I have 8 of these, all purchased in the last 2 years. So, they are all new to me and I cannot compare to what they once were.
Were you not a fan of Halston Catalyst or did you just never get a chance to smell it? It was one of my 1990's favorites. I was waiting for you to say CK Escape for men. That was one of my favorites. To me, it's better than Eternity.
No way, sorry Eternity is way better, sharp, masculine, classy and sexy 👌🏼
how do you not have polo sport???
Great vid seb
Loved it
Platinum Égoïste was my signature in the 90’s.

What about Bulgari fragrances?
What about Lapidus and Quorum?
Lapidus and Quorum were launched in the 1980s! :)

great vlog.. Please make a video on those 90s discontinued great fragrances which are closest to any available such as Versace Versus Uomo, Givenchy Incense etc similar fragrances.
I have been wearing Estee Lauder Pleasures for Men since it came out. One of the few fragrances that I always have a backup bottle.

Eternity, wow that was a major hitter then!
Don't know why you put Havana & The dreamer so low in the list, they still smell very similar to the 90's versions. Great video dude!
I agree with you, I have many 90's classics and some 80's and ...purchased new ones and nope....not the same, last 20 min on me :/
I would have added 2 from Carolina Herrera, Issey Miyake, and CK Escape too
Bit late coming to this .. great video … but like u I loved the original Happy and not impressed with the newer one …. Could you recommend a scent similar to the original in style and scent ? PaulW.
Rodrigo Flores-Roux is the nose behind happy
Ooh yes! :)

I've also been wearing Pleasures since 2002. Nothing matches it but iceberg twice is a good cheapie if you don't mind the floral note.
Pleasures is an amazing scent. I was surprised Hugo wasn't on there as well.

Vintage Kenzo Jungle Homme by far much betthan the newer iteration. Have them both.
I’m disappointed you didn’t cover Cerruti 1881 .

They deffo haven’t modernised it. It smelled revolutionary in 91! If anything, it’s now more vintage smelling.
Is it me?
Is it fashion that’s changed or is it 1881

great top ten
90's fragrances but no Issey Miyake!?! epic fail
