I've found that testing on dummies is kinda wonky. Gengars sludge bomb deals 999 dmg per poison tick on practice dummies but never that high to any other pokemon or mob. Some pomemon have attacks that also scale off of the total health of the target yoy hit and the training dummy has huge health.
@@acardboardbox8285 Bruh, Ground moveset is honestly my favorite. I get the point of playing with Dragon Rush/Earthquake. It took a lot of time, but from what I’ve done, garchomp simply isn’t big or strong enough to handle a huge team meatup unless you’ve got your unite move ready, so you end up with a pretty good aoe, but not good enough, and definitely not enough for 1v1s or 2v1 situations early on

Sludge bomb does the damage it deals, because you hit the dummy with it. It has a % max HP component in the poison status effect. This can also be seen when using muscle band on the dummy over any other pokemon. The dummies high health skews the results. I feel that several of these unites have this hidden HP components. Charizard for example, I believe has an HP% execute in his ult (IE: it will deal a % oh HP dealing more the lower the Pokemon is). @@pepelesad3981 Just tested this, incorrect. Switch to stats oddly enough shows your stats not the dummy's. Why, I don't know. It is easy to tell that the dummy has obscene HP because of the damage muscle band does to it. You can test by looking at the move damage with band on, this is where the dummy reflects that damage. Garchomp breaks the dummy, his unites and autos do a lot, but not what the dummy says. You can test by using them on players and wild Pokemon, especially boss monsters. Cramorant, for sure. I almost never see a Cramorant, and I think I'd remember getting machine-gunned in-game. I'm sure part of that is because it's not one we get for free like some of the other pokemon, and it's not on the current free rotation. Garchomp's boosted basic attacks aren't every fifth attack, they are every attack once you have charged up to 5. It doesn't reset unless you stop hitting things

Don't forget that Charizard's basic attacks are, get this, AoE! If the enemies are ever clumped up (like when they're all trying to score a goal), you unite move can do x2 up to even x5 damage if super lucky. The slam is also AoE, and also comes with a small stun component. Don't forget that Charizard becomes harder to target, gains movement speed AND movement over terrain while using this ability, making him one of, if not the best pokémon to contest Zaptos with because of all the walls and chokepoints around Zaptos. Simply swoop in there when Zaptos is low, press B with advanced controls on, and you will cook anyone standing close to Zaptos and Zaptos itself for a good chance of stealing it with every tick of your basic attack rolling a separate chance for a crit. I know, burst moves are technically better for steals, but it's more about how much damage you deal combined with the fact that you can fly around over terrain and avoid being jumped on as easily. Combined with X attack this is absolutely deadly for Zaptos.

Your videos are great! I had been wondering how atk and spatk and your video was the only source! I main Charizard which is a very tricky character to play imo! When I started I was using FireBlast and Fire Punch because of Charizard’s basic attacks reducing the cooling down of firepunch for every opponent hit, which made it super easy to burn through wild Pokémon, but after watching your videos I’ve tried a lot of time and move combos and really exploring the character! Idk if you’ve done this yet but it’d be cool if you explained the preferred move choices and use your damage statistics you gathered during the atk and sp atk explanation video to kind of just compare the choices :) keep it up you’re killin it
Crawmorants Barraskewda chains between enemies, though I don't know how much damage it does compared to the initial hit. This means his ult has even crazier damage potential in an AOE.
As a Garchomp main, this leaves me confused. I will try to investigate myself. 1. The cleave effect and actual basic attack seem to have separate critical strike chances. Weird implementation of crit. 2. Against the practice dummy, basic attacks (not the cleave) get less base damage than the previous until an empowered basic attack hits (downward ramping damage).
Sounds like something worth looking at myself if that’s the case. But then again….maybe it’s because of how his basic attack works. Decreasing damage as he increases in attack speed?
