  • @franciscodelico

    18:18 I do believe the Eldegoss dunked their points precisely because they already won the team fight, and so, the Rotom would have more than likely gotten to the goal before any of the high-scoring players could dunk themselves. A quick dunk to get rid of the goal, so Rotom could advance, was probably a quick-thinking decision to not risk the Rotom and keep the ball rolling. Whether it was worth it or not, I can't judge, but they did proceed to destroy your other goal regardless

    In terms of scoring there's also a thing you should've mentioned because this is very important specially for supporters. If you have under 10 points to score, you dunk them almost instantly, and scoring makes you invulnerable AND heals you. So if you see yourself pushing or diving under a goal and you dunking that amount won't delete it, it is worth to blow your cds, dunk to dodge theirs and get some health back. Plus if you are equipped with scoring items you get that benefit too. This is only useful for characters that won't be last hitting like defenders and supporters, but it is something to keep in mind.
    Edit: I also forgot to mention scoring also reduces your unite move cd, so the more you are scoring the faater you get to use it. Playing aggressive in this game lets you snowball super fast, but always try to score the max amount in the goals you can!

    • @leinadlink
      @leinadlink 2 года назад +2

      @@skinnybballer I know the aeos cookie may be tasty, but I think max HP is kinda not as good as the other two alternatives when it comes to held items, since you could equip something like a buddy barrier instead.
      Battles are so quick that high sustain is not as good, specially with the eldegoss nerfs. However, with how strong some of the abilities in this game are, the Sp. Attack specs look pretty tempting in some characters. You get a nice special attack boost pasively at the start, and you can snowball pretty quick if you try to sneak in quick goals. You can end up getting up to 48 extra attack which is nuts (plus the extra 24 it gives at rank 30 making it 72 total).
      I think a lot of people are sleeping on these scoring items.

  • @TheTheEverling
    @TheTheEverling 2 года назад +37

    My only addition to the scoring 1 point tip: It's highly beneficial if you are using the held items that provide stat boosts each time you score. Whether it's 1 point or 50, you get the same boost each time. Score as many 1 pointers as possible quickly and you eventually start sweeping the enemy team very quickly.

    I would add a personal pet peeve of mine - Not recalling after scoring with a Zapdos advantage to defend the base until the timer runs out. Lost 2-3 games in Expert because of this. Whats the point of fighting on a enemy goal when 2-3 opponents are left wandering around with the potential to score 200 points and fuck you over anyway.

    • @AstridCeleste96
      @AstridCeleste96 2 года назад +27

      Yeah, after a Zapdos push and you dump your points you should either be protecting teammates that haven't got to dunk their points yet or backing. If the enemy team isn't on spawn and is missing, you should definitely be backing. You should also wait and respond to where your enemies go to dunk by waiting on the superjumper, and split up for defense as two people defending one turn in while another one gets snuck is a recipe for losing a close game.

    As an Absol main, I kept trying to pick characters in solo to help with synergy (that's how Eldegoss became my second). Then, I realized that just because jungle has been taken and called, I can still play as bottom Absol. Many Pokemon can have a couple different functions of you build and plan right. I can now play Absol as a jungler, attacker, scorer, etc. So as long as your teams synergy isn't complete terrible (at least one defender/support and a jungler) just pick your main.
    Points don't matter till Zapdos. Remember my score Absol? It was sick. Too bad I never realized that the goals really aren't worth that much experience and I would have been better in center or bottom. Now I have much more consistent wins, all because I stopped worrying about the score until Zapdos.
    If you are going center, don't touch the first Aipoms. If your top or bottom don't touch the jungle pokemon. ANY OF THEM NOT A SINGLE POINT OF DAMAGE.
    Drednaw is the first win condition. You get first Drednaw and you get a huge advantage.
    Know your match ups. As an absol main, I know my match ups really well. When an opponent is out of lane, pushing too hard, if there's a Zeraora, I know to stay away because Absol can't outpace Zeraora in a lot of ways. I know I can literally dance around Snorlax and get KOs if I keep up my attack and watch for Snorlax attacks. This is just an example, but know your match ups. Know them with your play style, etc.

    Quick tip from a production perspective - record the voice over, then record the background footage. You've saved a load of time just getting loops of footage from the game, but the audio looping is quite annoying. It doesn't ruin the video, but if you record the voice over first, you'll know how much background footage you need and can record it without 3 second loops. Another option is to just record maybe 20 minutes of each screen, then you can just use that as archive footage for any video you make in future. Little extra effort but saves time in the long run.

    On the last point it happened so many times to me. When there's about 5-20 points left to cap a goal and I have 50 points banked my teammate will always just cap their 20 points and not let me take it because I take much longer to cap. Then I get killed later on and lose the only opportunity I had to dunk that 50

      I think one of the problems is the MVP system. Specifically, the game puts too much emphasis on MVP as a fixed requirement for various rewards, including literal dailies that demand you get MVP multiple times TODAY. Matches are won by doing well as a team. MVP is won by doing better than your team.
      Dunking 20 points for yourself and preventing your "rival" team mate from scoring 50 points is a really good move for finishing that daily quest. Easily one of the worst design decisions they have made in the game.

The only reason to ever really go for second goal before 2 minutes is if you see 4-5 opponents somewhere else on the map and know you can score for free or you are pushing with at least 3 other people from your team. *7 Mistakes I commonly See People Making:*
    1. Not taking advantage of or participating in any of the important team fights. Or going for the main objectives (even when they're losing.) *When you do this you're allowing the other team to take all of the experience and top you in levels.*
    2. Wandering around half/entire match with max points and not attempting to score them. *This is bad cause an opponent on the other team, can just take you out and steal all your points to potentially take out one o f your goals.
    3. Farming or fighting the other team at inappropriate times (when really behind), instead of just trying to score or go for an objective. *When you do this you're setting you and your teamates up for even more complete failure.*
    4. Idling, constantly surrendering, or just not being a good team player in general. *if this sounds like you, please don't participate in anymore ranked matches until you have some more experience under your belt. You're just sabotaging your teams ability to win.*
    5. Not being defensive of your allies or your goal zones. *This allows the enemy team to easily take out your teammates and your goals.*
    6. Trying to fight an objective alone. *When you do this you're making it easy for the other team to snipe it from you.*
    7. Not letting your lower level allies collect farm. *This makes it hard for them to participate in battle.*

    The issue with these tips is they require a semi-competent team, these are all pretty given stuff I knew but I consistantly get teams in random MM that just don't do these, I often have games where I'm playing a support like Snorlax and both team just Ignore Regirock/ice/steel for 4+ minutes of the game and since I'm snorlax I can't REALLY solo it so I just opt to jsut ignore it, similarly even though I mid a lot I've often found teams just don't rotate to objectives or don't even contest it, like I'll vacate the Jungle to go rotate for Regi and my team just enters the jungle to farm leaving me to either solo, or try to fight 3 enemies solo at Regi, that's just one example but a lot of these games have issues like that (Ultra 4 btw)
    The most I "break" one of these is the Tier 2 one, often my teamies just braindead walk to the first goal so I'll try to get my team to walk into Regi after the first goal is taken then I'll just go in and zone the enemy back and distract them while my team takes the objective

    One possible reason for goaling with a small amount of points is making use of the goal scoring stat increase items (Aeos Cookie, Sp.Atk Specs, Attack Weight) to take full advantage of those items for their buffs as quickly as possible.
    They max out at 6 stacks so getting a quick 6 goals near the start of the match by dunking even just 1 point in can get the ball rolling with those items
    Unfortunately there are still better items but that might just be the reasoning teammates score with so little points sometimes

    • @dirktesla7827
      @dirktesla7827 2 года назад

      Number one tip: Never play Venusaur or Charizard if you do you are throwing. Charizards damg is straight trash compared to the other all-rounders who ALSO HAVE UTILITY and them fixing the muscle band bug just made him even worse with no buffs to compensate. And Venusaur literally has NO CC AS A MAGE outside of his enhanced auto while every other attacker do equal if not more damg then him while also having a CC stun tied to every one of their abilities. Sorry but Venusaur and Charizard are shit atm and need in Charizards case be buffed and in Venusaurs case be completely reworked to include some fucking CC as a mage.

      @@experimento6262 Damg wasn't the problem for charizard. Flamethrower doesn't slow or give charizard a movement speed boost when it's upgraded for kiting potential, fire blast literally takes 0.2 seconds to walk out of, fire punch is a knock back which sends your targets out of range of your own auto attack damg making it a hindrance to your own character and your team unless you eject button behind people when machamp can do this with submission with literally no downside and without using eject button, and flare blitz is one of the slowest and shortest range dashes in the game. All the buffs did was up his damg which wasn't the problem aside from maybe flamethrower. So what I have to say after the buffs is instead of a F tier throwing character he is now a E tier throwing character. He needs his mechanics looked at not his damg.

Same thing with Eldegoss and Wigglytuff to a lesser extent. Obviously not if your Ninetails, her level 4 spike is just as huge if not bigger, same thing Machoke his level 5 spike is so big that you should be rushing it at all costs as a laner. @@Jhit123 Pls thats bs youre spouting. If youre stuck its very likely the ranked matchmaking. When i was in great it wouldnt give me expert but after going back and fort between these ranks i got it. Same happenened with Veteran. Now its the same bs happening with Ultra.
      Ill eventually get there but its not because im not good enough. Its because the ranked is made that way.

    Also, you passively generate 1% Unite charge per second. In this way, "ults" have a 100 second cooldown.
    I think that's universal. Kinda weird balance wise but could work.

    I like going for early scores since it gives you some experience which can help snowball the lane

  • @harikari9115

    Something interesting Ive found in regards to last hitting primarily in the bottom lane but also in the top is that it can be advantageous when running pokes that have strong early level ups like alolan ninetales and lucario is to split the minions on the way to lane and then give the rest of the last hits till level four with ninetales to the ninetales. Getting the sure fire stun from dazzling gleam can often turn fighting over the middle audino incredibly heavily into your favor. With lucario, obviously getting that power up punch before your opponents even if you are with an attacker can make you come out on top early. Ive been seeing a lot of Gardevoirs go bottom when I pick lucario and especially in that pairing I think its more important to give the lucario the exp early to gain the upper hand.
