I often watch raw videos like this for turnout time (alarm to when the rig moves) this call is about 43 seconds. Nice hustle, That's outstanding gentlemen. Most Larger depts are well over a minute into the two minute range.

Mannnn. From a retired professional apparatus engineer i gotta tell you Bo. You got a good video here. Im not sure the horses being pushed out of that tower but that camera shot, angle and audio catch was amazing. Brings back my tower running days. 💪🏿

we walk as well ... as running at the station hardly safes any time, while you definetly will loose these extra seconds somewhere enroute; We won't walk that slow, not like a weekend walk, but rather normal to quick, but we don't run. Even at larger stations ... not in the scale of 5 to 10 bays, but way larger stations
Great catch! This reminded me of the scene from Backdraft when Tim & Brian leave the bar to go that fire. In the background during that fire scene you hear the fire communications radio chatter and one of those specifically is "Engine 108 and Tower Ladder 23 are in service and returning". So it's pretty neat to see the modern-day 108/23.
The rather big guy in the beginning is probably the engineer, as everyone knows their life is basically eating ice cream, sleeping and driving the apparatus.
It looks like the real Qs but it’s actually not that’s where the EQ2B is. The real Q would have one like that but it’ll stick out a lot more since it’s mechanical while this one’s more thinner. The only CFD rigs that have a real Q is old TL63, TL5, and old Sq7
@@MegaMantim I don't know about there. But at my department, we've done away with lowest bidder. I sit on the committee. Had too many issues with lowest bid.
That’s not how rig assignments work. There’s always less trucks especially towers compared to engines and CFD also closed a lot of firehouses back then which is also why there’s gaps in the numberings
Some departments do and some don't. For instance in Nashville, Charlotte and a lot of other large cities they have went back and renumbered the Trucks to match the Engine. Down the road from me in Memphis, Engine & Truck companies are different numbers like Chicago, FDNY and some others. It's just personal preference and keeping history alive.
Another reason the numbers are different…in the horse drawn era, many large , urban Departments kept Engines and Ladder Companies separate. Each had their own quarters (not stations) . When companies started being housed together, they retained their number so you get mixed numbers. A great TRADITION.
In Toronto, the system is different too because it was 6 departments amalgamated into 1, and all apparatus have a letter 3 digit number. All apparatus housed together have the same number. The first digit is the Command (1-North, 2-East, 3-South, 4-West), the second is the District within the command, and the third is the Station within the district. The letters correspond to apparatus type- P for Pumper, A for Aerial Ladder, R for Rescue Pumper, T for Tower, S for Squad. For instance, P333 and T333 are the Pumper and Tower assigned to Station 333, the 3rd station in the 3rd District of South Command.

Nice how they even caught the green rotator light on ladder. Never knew fire engines themselves had it too.

I'll be blunt. Compare the hustle in these Chicago guys to the many FDNY turnout videos on RUclips. No comparison, CFD wins.

JOBTOWN!!
Driving Tower 23 like a Boss!!

I love how the sloped bay apron helps sling them onto to the street at a higher speed. 👉🏼 ✌🏼
All the old guys trying to run fast gotta love it
Yup
I like how the are running to get out.there are so many that just walk and take their time.nice way to hustle guys.👍😀
Yup!
prob because they are aware they are are on video.
@@spaghetti9845 not necessarily. Every Fire call I see something similar all the time but other calls they seem more chill
Probably depends on the severity of the fire

I love how the engineer from 108 brought his coffee with him!
Can't do your job if you're asleep.
As an Engineer I know, bring your drink with you!😊
Awesome i love American fire trucks
Thanks!
Awsome. Like the final scene of Backdraft. I would like visit so much this staion and many others.
Thanks!

Out of the literal hundreds of times I’ve watched it since I was a kid I hear it now. Awesome! Thank you!

The big guy was the Captain of Tower Ladder 23.
Incredible Video!! Very Beautiful Catches!! 💙🚒
Thanks!
Like driving with a smart car hanging over your windshield
Nice!
Thanks!
Nice catch! Congratulations from France 🇫🇷🇺🇸
Thanks!
E108 has a new rig coming
Nice
Thanks!
Bring the coffee driver!
AWESOME CATCHES!
Thanks!
Bulletproof glass on those trucks?
Lol no their not bulletproof
That dude caused the Richter Scale to activate running like that. Seriously over weight.
Why you making fun of him?
They must of been first in company due to them moving with urgency. Not walking around taking their sweet time.
Now that’s gettin out the door right there💪
Super video!!
Go get 'em CHICAGO FD!!
Yup!
I’m surprised these trucks aren’t spares yet
How often do you to meet up at 1:08
I usually go once a month but with the winter not sure how that’s going to be. Besides yesterday pretty much when I’m there we end up meeting up.
@@metraforce441 I may go there tomorrow
So bunch of u live in same district as 108?
@@dubzytse710 no

It looks like E 108 has a bumper-recessed mechanical Q and an EQ with the speaker mounted elsewhere, since I couldn't see the bumper cutout.
This is an amazing video man!! 🚒
Thanks!
High rise or just normal fire
Normal Fire

Who builds the CFD appartus? Couldnt see name plate clear in video
In this case Pierce (TL23) and Luverne/ Spartan (E108)

Superb 🧑🏻👍🏻🚒
was there a fire?
not necessarily it was later cancelled since they didn’t find anything but the smell of burning around there
awesome video
Man the video give you a lot of subs
Just realized that.
Why do these have green lights on? Does it symbolise something or is it just for left and right
Tradition.
Can somone explaine with truck 23 is with engine 108 why engine 23 isn’t with truck 23 or truck 108 isn’t with engine 108

Still using ancient halogen lights on the roof. Get some damn LED'S
Those rigs aren’t new and especially now when new rigs are expected to come soon I doubt any new upgrades will be needed
Put a real Q on those trucks.
Geez
Nice video!
Thanks!
