- Tanker 60 responding to assist 50 with a reported dwelling. Chief 50 and Truck 50 arrived on scene and confirmed a furnace malfunction and held it to Engine 502 Engine 54-2 and Truck 50. West Willow Fire Company.

I can't tell ya how many times I've done it!
I know it may come off as strange, but hearing the sirens and horns from a rig is the absolute best thing to me. I know it means someone is in trouble and what not, but just hearing them from a distance as they close in...sends chills down my spine.

I live right across the street from a station, and hearing the sirens wind up and start blaring is so amazing to hear. If I could get that sound as a ringtone or alarm I'd be a happy man.

its a natural response that most have including myself... Thats the sole reason these kind of videos are posted for people like us.. who else would want to see a video of a truck driving?

It makes me cringe when I watch these awesome videos and see all the non-yielding morons. Makes me wish I could scratch a citation to every one of them. When I see a fire rig or ambulance rolling code, if I am at an intersection, I will hit the overheads and hold the intersection for them (especially if they are busting a red in their direction), and if I am on the roll, I will stop, then watch out for and stop the worst offender. Failure to yield and non-restrained children are my 2 biggest pet peeves. It's tough enough rolling code in a car. I can't even imagine how the Engineer must feel. Nothing but respect for those guys. Plus, they are going to be the ones who come to my aid if anything happens to me. Great driving! I have to stop ranting LoL. Stay safe out there.
We just need to sit em all down in a chair and horn blast em about point blank for an hour. They'll either emerge deaf or having learned their lesson.

It always amazes me, that when a BIG Fire Truck is coming along the road, with horns and siren blaring, drivers still drive straight through the intersection.

They don't seem to think that fire truck could be going after someone they know, a friend or relative.
I got sideswiped on my motorcycle by another motorcycle when I stopped for a fire truck pulling out of a station. The other motorcycle was completely unaware the fire truck was there when he asked me why I stopped at a green light.
I live in Canada, people always pull over for any emergency vehicle. It will be like 2 blocks away and people on both sides of the road will pull over and stop
Sage Watson I was changing a tire on the side of the road in Osborne village in wpg and the ambulance was coming down the same lane of traffic and then it just went into the opposite lane of traffic cause there was no cars

Don't ever do that. I been called witness after a guy "aware of his surroundings" drove to the side and got t boned by someone who wasn't. Always put YOUR safety first.

Mihaly Lukacs cause PA doesn’t have the strict penalties like here in NY. If you don’t pull over it’s a mega expensive ticket!! Speeding through a construction zone 2 times means your license is getting suspended.

Exactly who in the video isn’t pulling over you fucking goof? On coming traffic on the left hand side doesn’t have to pull over u til you learn about the road and first responding laws don’t make dumb comments like these

Driver should know where your going before pulling out of bay.
You probably haven't run many calls if you think that lol my captain or CO tells me where to go my job is to watch for dumbasses that don't yield to my flashing lights and sirens and get my crew to the scene safely. 99% percent of the time we know where the call is but there are a million things going through your mind mistakes happen just like here pulling out of the bay.

Drivers can't hear all the audio levels of a Q. Your at a disadvantage to hold the Q at the top end. The best way for all drivers to hear you is let sirens and air horn travel up and down the audible spectrum.

He isn't complaining. It's just advice. Quite often elderly people can't here the siren when the Q is held all the way up. They designed it that way for a reason.

Gonna end up burning that Q holding it like that. They aren't designed to be at peak for long periods of time. They also aren't as effective when held at peak because it becomes a solid tone that drivers are less responsive to. Otherwise, great response!

I'm from germany. how do you use the Q? is there a button or do you work it by foot? I always thought you can switch it on and off and it's working on automatic.

This is the most insane overuse of the horn and siren. You guys have them blaring when no one is around. Relax boys.

My (old) chief would have ripped me up one side and down the other for keeping my foot on the Q button. To each his own, but I don't think that is how a 'coaster' siren should be run.

Powercall, Q2B, and air horn, sounded really good on that truck. The hypercall (I think that's what it's called) in the beginning of the video, sounded really good too!
We got our Q stuck one time! They had to go under and cut wires to stop it.
It was inside the station. We test our sirens every month, but that month someone decided to test it by holding it down for awhile. Then they let off but it didn't stop!

Volunteers are non-paid professional firefighters. Paid FF’s are ignorant to that fact.

I lived in gap for couple of years and ran with 42 never knew you tanker had the Q siren. Best siren out there in my eyes.
Their radio traffic is so clear!😭 those who work with a radio know that very seldomly are they this clear and easy to understand.

Nothing has changed since the 1980's when I was on the job. 1 in 5 vehicles pull over unless you blast them when the horns. One of the rigs I used to engineer needed to be double clutched too. No automatic transmissions. I'm just curious how the officer in the video has a beard. Have they improved airpacks that much?

So when you are not out of the truck bay yet and you ask where are we going I get nervous. When you turn left instead of right I get more nervous. Once I pulled the 3rd truck out to a call and was the first on scene. There was a meeting after we got back. Good thing it was not a major fire. Also please use the Q the way it should be. Just saying

Ladder 6 Photography no I absolutely know how to clear an intersection. But standing on the Q at full peak for a minute does absolutely no good. Siren usage for it to be effective needs pitch changes. Hence why all siren manufacturers have different tones to chose from.

These guys don’t mess around if they need to get somewhere quick they let people know to get the hell outta the way or they notify the authorities to direct traffic and pull anyone over that obstructs emergency vehicles

It's to bad that you can't get the license plate for each vehicle that doesn't give way to you and go to their house and have them go to a class to hopefully help them see the error of their ways and they have to make a $10.00 or more donation to the fire department unit that they didn't yield to

4:46 officer had to shift the transmission back into drive for the chauffeur.
It was like thay where driving silent, no one seemed to hear any of it.
How do you guys get away with having beards/facial hair? I'm assuming this is a volunteer department? The officer clearly has a goatee and possible a beard. We get our pee-pees smacked by that state since facial hair can interfere with our mask seal.

why does so much siren noise have to be made? the american fire trucks are very old and slow. Before the truck has arrived, the building will have already burned down or many people have been killed. Just take an example of Dutch fire responding on youtube.
that Q screaming as you approached the stop lights made everyone give way. I see ambulance and police just sit behind cars at stop lights with their sirens going and no one moves. Think the screaming Q should be standard emergency equipment.
