- ride along with Truck 27. Lightforce 27 is responding through the congested Hollywood area to a stuck elevator with people trapped. Lightforce 27 consists of Truck 27 and Engine 227. You can also see engine 76 responding to a medical call at the same address. To get to the scene, fire personnel and equipment is being driven in golf carts - by Dirk Steinhardt - www.rescue911.de - City of Los Angeles, California, USA - 09.2010 - filmed with a Sony HDR-CX505 - Thanks to the guys from 27!!!
The guy driving the truck is beast at driving
Juan Herrera There’s two drivers on a tiller
Driving FIRE DEPARTMENT truck is the best, must think fast how to make a short trip,,
Just think how he'd do in a Mini Cooper.
Ikr i thought he was going to knock over those cones in the side
Don't worry boys, Cosmo's at the caboose!
Shout Out to that Tiller Driver having to deal with this traffic as well. Great job LACFD
My dad was a Tiller driver for LAFD 14's for 20 years; 34th and Central Ave.
I love how the rig roars when it brakes.
SharksRule86 it's called the jake brake or the engine brake , the engine slows the momentum saving the brakes!
@@chrisdrybread8142 Thanks, Captain Obvious.
@@mikeymcmikeface5599 I wonder if he knows Captain Underpants?
@@JimHerbertOutdoors doubt it probably captain overreactor
Funny how I see the station before we got all the new stuff. Being a cadet at this station is the greatest thing on earth. Full of excitement and adrenaline.
7:13 what a great guy. He’s trying to clear the traffic for you.
Love the Jake Brake on that Caterpillar engine Sweetest sounding engine.
Oh, so the Caterpillar engine is what comes on these LaFrance trucks? I see some of these trucks sound like they've had the engine and the Jake brakes replaced. They suck lol
That is a Cummins diesel on those ALF/LTI TDAs. My FD bought the same ones as LA City. Good rigs!
Lightforce is an engine & ladder that always respond together. There's a separate engine that responds by itself. It takes the bulk of the calls. Lightforce usually only responds if the "stand alone" engine is out, or a ladder is needed.
Imagine your house is burning down, and some idiot thinks he should run across the street instead of waiting, holding up the engine coming to save you....
Justin we should just throw them in the inferno
On GTA V you just run them over😂😂
Justin - did you not spot the parent and pram behind him!!!!!!!! Just nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ah thats ok, the 10000 cars in his way, the house is a total loss now
3:28 is perfect California self-centered attitude. Pushing a BABY STROLLER in front of a Code 3 fire engine, because it's more important that they get their baby safely in front of the emergency vehicle than it is for the truck to get to the emergency.
Give these guys credit!!!!
Great job keeping calm & patient at the wheel. Insane traffic & pedestrians! Thankfully seems most drivers were quick to maneuver out of the way. Stay safe! 🚒🇺🇸
Yes the training and certification is called EVOC - Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course. I am EVOC certified, and trust me, it's hard. They made you maneuver an emergency vehicle in ways that just seem unnatural haha. I am ambulance operation qual'd and I can tell you, driving at high rates of speed against oncoming traffic is a helluva rush!
Fire truck blasting through LA, people stuck in an elevator, lights flashing, and security attendants be like "Hiiiii!"
Loved that horn action at 3:18
+Kraig Cuico I love how the rig roars when it brakes.
lol, yeah same here.byt the best is when they hit that q, with their Motorola spectra running!
Impressive driving through all of that traffic by the buses. Sucks to drive through Hollywood like that, especially down Vine -_-.
What...a...cluster...Hats off to those guys.
Love the Jake brakes
Blimey that was a pretty damn awesome video! Loved that driving - and into oncoming heavy traffic! Great job by that person who stopped the traffic crossing just where 76 had crossed. Nicely filmed with that Engine passing and then your LightForce.
And that was pretty hilarious watching firefighters go around in golf carts!
I grew up in Hollywood and attended Hollywood High School (where 27’s made that right turn from Sunset Bl. onto Highland Av.) 27’s has always been a great house!
To all the women and men of the Fire Department thank you 🙏 for your service!
Fucks given = 0. Thanks, random guy, for helping direct traffic (7:08). I'm guessing the Hollywood Bowl let out?
Definitely much appreciated assistance!
People know emergency is priority,
Edwin Hutagalung Ha! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I wish!
Hollywood is the busiest city ever!. I would love to work for LAFD.. looks like being driver is extremely fun thing.
The computer showed the location being the philharmonic...
I could have sworn there was a another station within a couple blocks of there near the civic center....
LA philharmonic association isn't a caller, actual location being 2301 N Highland Ave
How many orange cones died on this run! Orange cone lives matter too😀🍀
4:28 lololol RIP cones.
They seem a little nicer than NY... They would have kept the siren and horns blaring the entire time sitting in traffic lol.
I'd be a dick if I lived in New York too lol ;)
Was thinking the same thing myself....
They do that in NYC my uncle is with the FDNY n I've gone on so many runs with him the siren is always blaring
For good reason NYC has selective hearing lol
@@krendilsshieldheart6344 u are 100% correct
Huge respect to these guys!
It's got something to do with Task Forces as a whole. The staffed engine in the task force, in this case Engine 27, would pull right up to the fire with the truck. Then Engine 227, the second engine, would make the hydrant. I'm really sure on the whole thing but that's what I can gather.
I'd say more than likely, all that traffic was leaving from Hollywood Bowl. That outdoor amphitheater holds just over 18,000 people hence all the cars and buses. That is a very difficult place to get away from after the concerts are over. Been there, done that.
@utryckninguppsala
all the videos uploaded here are made by myself in order to comply with youtube copyright rules. so if you send me something i won't publish it here.
however people can upload their stuff directly on rescue911.de with their own account.
I find it funny how the guy at 6:30 somehow ignores the fact the left wig-wag is flashing RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM.
Don't think it a fact of ignoring it. Waiting to have some place to go.
Now all the idiots who seen the lights coming the wrong direction, and they still thought it was cool idea to cross that intersection.
Think They Murdered a Few Cones lol :D
wonder how many casualties there were.....not like they cared LOL

Eins der besten und interessantesten Videos von dir.... Weiter so!!!
wow that is a nice looking ride on ladder 27 and i like the siren
Wow.. So glad to live in a rural area.
U have to be nuts to drive a massive tiller through that traffic. Good job getting through it
Truck 27....puts the hood ornament on the centre yellow line ! Exactly what I do ! They'll move, no worries brother !!! That engine is my second favorite body structure built. The only one I like better, is the one with the open back jumpseats. Two of them. A few minor issues : hot in the summer, transmission in center of partner and I. Nighttime runs, red emergency lights in your face if you're standing up facing forward. If it's raining, you're soaked. Snowing, you're a snowman ! All in all, I like it. Today's style, terrible. Sure. More functional. More room. I also like the seats facing where I came from, not where I'm going :-) Then there's the bay doors, lol. Auto, yes please ! One guy closes then hops on rig, no thanks !! One night, new kid, door kept opening, I forgot About the sensor, lol. I had to learn fast ! Learn how to get SCBA on alot fastr than I was.
Love that engine brake
When you here lights and sirens MOVE OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY
This film is brought to you in memory of all those cones who made the ultimate sacrifice 😂
I noticed a lot of the interior view the truckk was going up and down..is that my imagination or is that the orad or the shocks
WOW, what in the world was up with all of the busses lined up one behind each other?
When ever the hollywood bowl has events that's what they do
Those buses are the shuttles that run from the outside parking lots around the city to the Hollywood Bowl on event nights. There is a large fleet of around 40 buses per big event
Should fine them for making unnecessary traffic like that.
7:07. Well done sir. 👍👍
I don't know about LA but in San Diego they take a ladder for necessary tools carried on the ladder as well as extra manpower
that part was funny when he blew the horn at all those peoplehow were crossing the road
Mindless cattle.
Props to the tiller operator! Holy shit that was quite the traffic jam.
"oh lets push my baby stroller in front of this speeding truck with lights and sirens"
I like how they hook up those exaust tubes to the engine's exaust pipe(s) so when they start them up all of it goes straight outside of the building. but the one I keep on forgetting and I do apoligize for asking again but since I am seeing those 2 fans in the window are there, does that mean that these engines don't come equiped with factory air conditioning? Great video. Thanks
Good on ya guys, Tough callouts but you handled it perfectly, Not pushy at all... Just the way it should be.
What siren do they use here? I have been searching for it but cant find it.
7:20 props to the guy getting out of his car to help get traffic out of the way.
The light force 27 says BYE BYE BYE BYE BYE ENGINE 227 HAHAHA HAHAHA
@westlyr2003 Hollywood isn't a city. It's part of the city of Los Angeles. It's the "entertainment" district of L.A., tho it does have an "Honorary mayor"!
I dont know how this works but after the person becomes a official member of the LAFD, do they have to take some kind of a driving test probably using these excact engines so that they can be the one who gets behind the wheel of the engine, if so, I must say I bet thats one of the hardest behind the wheel tests that there is, this kind of driving, driving the wrong way in VERY heavy traffic is one of the hardest things to do.....
4:22 Poor traffic cone, never knew what was happening.
4:22
do LAFD always go code 3 with a light force for a stuck elevator ? or was there something special ?
Oh ok thats cool that they display their safety ratings like that thanks for the info
They do it called EVOC(or along those lines) they use similar trucks and simulators.
@theatomicfart1001 The funniest one is the Mom at 3:27 running across with her stroller. She really could have waited, but then i wouldn't have anything to comment on.
6:00 is just insane.
yes Lafd basically goes to all calls code 3. unless told to respond non emergency
@EDBudweiser Think it's Sweet Disposition by the Temper Trap
I wonder why does the LAFD call their ladder trucks "Lightforces" can somebody explain that to me please
LAFD is the best. Period.
Just behind LACoFD
Got to love The Temper Trap playing in the engine bay haha good taste in music them LA firefighters.
I'd say we have good music playing all the time I'm a cadet at the station. Lots of fun riding on the light force.
@Brainscrewer It's a headset similar to the ones helicopter pilots wear. Everyone on the apparatus wears one. It reduces the sound of the siren and allows for hands free use of the radio.
Person in that SUV might just be smart enough to win the Darwin award one day.
Wow! Always wondered how emergency services handled getting through a traffic jam!
@anercy1 Light Force 27 is from Station 27, which has Task Force 27, Rescue 27, and Rescue 827. (I didn't name the LF/TF units, for obvious reasons) and maybe a vehicle or two I missed
whoa This was my response area so I would have had this call if I was on duty this day
Do you shoot all the videos on this channel by yourself? Or can people send you their material?
Nice video btw!
@eveningniteshade That's called the "Jake Brake", think of it as an engine brake, that stops the engine from providing power to the axles, then in turn the truck's mass stops it, ImRatherTall has the idea nailed
IMHO your "LAFD" vid series is second only to your "Battalion chief" series!
sitting in the backseat here now I know what is like to ride in a firetruck lol
3:19 shave and a haircut oh air horn
Rob Scott nice catch
Plane&Train Fanatic thanks
Huh?
Great video!
Nice video man just out of curiosity because I love trucks what kind of truck is that? And is the engineer Detroit Siri 60?
I think it's early 2000s american la France model
Nice @
I also wondered this about LAFD's Light Forces, how many crew members are assigned the engine? I know what it's role is (I think I do anyway), but does it have just the driver-operator and someone catching the seat or is it a full crew of four FFs?
Two . A driver and a firefighter .
Magnificent
Anyone know what is this siren, not the EQ2B but the wail one
@billyfrmhill As far as I know, I think 27 has Task Force 27 (T27, E27, E227), Rescue 27 (The older model E series ambulance), Rescue 227 (Newer model E-series, not in video)
Oh,man that was cool ride🙆♂️🙆♂️🤗
So can you give any details as to what the call was about and what all happened
It's was reported brush fire as far as I know
just look for the video of engine 27 responding to a medical call near hollywood bvd
@FloCp3 Whats wrong with your fire department for not sending one? Kidding, but seriously, it's just their Standard Operation procedure. The ladder carries equipment to open the elevator, and the engine and ladder go everywhere together, so that if another call comes in, they can go together, and it's good to have extra manpower at any rescue.
that traffic....wow!
Hollywood and highland holla! All the action is there. The Oscars are there. The Hollywood bowl(which I think they're going to the computer said LA philharmonic association) all the celebrities live there...in fact was firehouse 27 the one that serviced river phoenixs overdose at the viper room? Anyone know?
Edit: I totally knew they were going to the Bowl before they got there! Lol that was exciting.
Fairfax County doesnt respond priority 1 to a stuck elevator unless someone is panicing or medical emergency.
good work,your the man :-))
What type of event was going on Holly hell that is a lot of traffic
0:45 Sweet Disposition!
looks like they were in a bit of trouble
the finest fire dept in this country
*cough* FDNY *cough*
Motorola Astro Siren. Sounds exactly like the Federal PA 200 siren and old Interceptor sirens.
Oh ok! Thanks!
I was just wondering if it was Federal or Whelen or Third Party because this rig has Whelen speakers
SAMAG Productions they're starting to use whelens now i hear!!!! i does sound good too!
@2:52 Awesome! :D
Nevermind on the lightforce saw it in a comment but if anyone knows about the classes that would be awesome thanks
It's the ISO(Insurance Safety Office) Class rating. At one point LAFD lost their Class 1 rating, but I think they gained it back. More info see iso.com
So when a light force is dispatched, do the the two of from the truck move over to the pumper?
I think the truck has 5, and the 200 series pumper has one or two.
@@emt5330 the has 4 and 200 has 2
UGH! you guys got stuck in Hollywood Bowl traffic.
Damn that traffic is crazy lmaoo but wonderful job done to the firefighters! In my city here in CA we don't necessarily have a problem getting through traffic to stop for EMS. I also dislike those people who never stop for EMS personnel it is so rude. My city doesn't have a lot of police which sucks. We have a population of 44k people with one PD station and about less than 15 police probably.
Lightforece 27 is from station 9?
No, from station 27.
