100% agree on FA going the extra mile, they put stickers/label on all my coilovers springs stating “ Do Not Mess with Preload “ and low and behold my mechanic said the preloads were incorrect… wasted so much time not to mention extra money spent and ALSO paid to get another alignment back to back bc I am OCD… they even sent my coilovers to my billing address when I clearly gave them my shipping address. They sent me a T-shirt to say sorry… gee… thanks?
Fortune autos are nice. Had a set of Broadway static custom built on my Evo, the. Went fortune auto custom valving and swift springs and absolutely loves it for a road car and it did good in corners also. Kept the 285s nice and planted.
had em for a few years custom springs and valves and the upgraded bearings, they felt light and noisy in a bad way and fell apart after about 30k miles. typical for any set of coilovers
Did you adjust preload for the fronts too lol? Also what did you end up doing the with the loose brake line? I just got the same coils for my 9 as well. You’re located in Louisiana right?
@@CJ2XLol must have missed that. Guess I’ll do the same thing and you’re absolutely right. Paid like $1800+ for mine plus the swift springs. You’d think they incorporate such a simple thing to hold the brake line
I don't know what price difference there was between the Fortunato and the Ohlins. I think you should have bought the Ohlins Road and Track version. Firstly, because of the manufacture of the shock absorber itself, since it is an inverted monotube and has the DFV system and secondly, because they do allow you to choose the hardness of the springs. I wear them with 10 in front and 10 in the back and they are perfect. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your new suspension just as much.
Thanks for the feedback.. I didn’t know Ohlins did any custom work. Ultimately, I chose FA because Ohlins is more of a track setup from what I’ve seen.. And they recommend a rebuild every 2 years vs FA’s 5 years.
@@CJ2X What's up. Ohlins really is a street suspension that works well on the track thanks to the DFV system. My old Bc Racing RM ones were drier and bouncy than these. They recommend the revision between 30-40 thousand miles. It all depends on how you use the car. Mine are now two years old (about 13k miles) and work just as well as the first day.
Your channel is really underrated man. You make good content and you give me my evo fix haha. I have a 9SE myself and I love my FA500 coils
@@Bromadillojo I appreciate the feedback. It means a lot! 🫡

I have no complaints with the performance or drivability of them
would love some more in depth review on these coilovers.
I plan on doing it in the future as I get more miles on them..

What stiffness settings are you running in the front and rears? Like, subbed, and rang that bell fam!

12:25 6” 3/4.. For the brake line, I loosely zip tied it to the other line..

Did your coilovers not come little stickers on the springs stating not to mess with the preload??
@@waybach no, I actually had to call them to verify..
Great review. What did you end up doing to that brake line? zip tied?
Yea man.. Zip ties did the trick.
Goals… love the evo
Thanks bro!

What are your thoughts on evo 10s?
Do you have spacers and if so what size spacer, rim and tire if you don’t mind me asking? I'm trying to get my wheels pushed like your stance.
No spacers. 18x9.5 +22, 255/35. I have videos on all this..
had em for a few years they were ok but any set of coilovers are truthfully piles of crap, might as well start saving now for the next set
What do you search on eBay for those covers?
I can’t find em.
You can’t find it because the seller is on vacation until tomorrow. Below is the link. www.ebay.com/itm/275071613806
Hey man, I have an f87 m2, would you recommend running fortune autos on it??
Personally, I love the M Performance ones..
sigh, just ordered the fortune auto with the exact specs as your Evo.@@CJ2X
