    Why I was given swimming lessons at one and a half years.
    A lack of respect or fear of water.
    Thanks Mom n Dad

    My goodness. Friends must feel awful / so sad to go from the youthful excitement of a solid degree to gone so soon. Tragic. I hike there and often swim solo at sunrise / even though I’ve always been a strong swimmer this sure makes me want to buddy up at least. It can be disorienting under those flowing waters for sure. Blessings to their families❤

      Can you please let me know if it is difficult to estimate the depth over there. The guys did not know it was deep. They were not even swimming btw, may be just trying to walk in that stream.

    • @StellarChi
      @StellarChi 29 дней назад +1

      @@NewMoonDay sadly one can be walking in a foot or two depth then come to a ledge with a 12 foot drop...so yes estimating depth can be tricky / anything is possible.

      @@StellarChi Are the currents strong even at 12+ ft depths?. Is it difficult to swim at that spot even for an experienced swimmer?.

    • @StellarChi
      @StellarChi 27 дней назад +1

      @@NewMoonDay I haven't found the currents under there strong, least at times I was there. Maybe at other times they're flowing faster. Easy just about anywhere to get disoriented. I think people overestimate their abilities. It's so beautiful there some let their guard down I suppose.

      @@StellarChi I was there at the graduation ceremony in asu. I have known one of the guys and still vividly remember their celebrations on the 4th of May. Their parents flew from India and was all happy smiling faces clicking pictures etc. things hv changed so quick.

    What happened?! Why would the ones that can not swim be in the forefront of ragging water without life jackets?! Something just does not add up!

      From what I heard from one of the friends who was along in that trip, they did not know there were gaps which were 20ft deep.
      People assumed they would be just waking on flat surfaces. They say they did not notice any clear signs that said it was very deep.

    Why don’t people realize how dangerous it is being in rapid water at this time of year !? So sad

    Please stay near the life guarded places if you are not prepared by knowing how to swim and knowing basic survival and navigation...tragic to see people lose their lives unnecessarily.

    People don't realize how dangerous running river is, including salt river. People die there all the time too. Be careful guys

      That ain't cool man, take it back. Never mock someone without knowing them. It hurts the ones who know and care for him and I'm one of them. I lost a comrade that day. May his soul rest in peace.
