I always felt like Richard Donner was underrated. I mean, he made some cult classics, some of the greatest, most entertaining film of all time and yet few people actually know his name. Thank you, Mr. Donner, for hours and hours of joy and thrill and for making movie history!
He never pushed his name out though, I think it was intentional. Spielberg etc will us their name as a way to sell their movies, or at least the studios do. Not Donner, he lets the movies speak for themselves. Same as golden age Hollywood where the majority of classic makers didnt

Amazing how one great person can affect all those lives.
