This vehicle comes with two different OEM tires. The two could not be more different. The Bridgestone Duelers on the car you tested are marshmallows and you get a soft ride, body lean and you don't get the performance of the full time four wheel when you push it into a corner. Unfortunately, you can't choose your tires and mine came with the Bridgestones. I put the other OEM Michelin Latitude Tour HP tires on it and the driving difference is extremely evident. Much more of a firmer, sport ride. Better control in avoidance maneuvers and cornering. Huge difference. It's really fun to drive with the all wheel drive train. This is an older design and all the comments about the updates, gas mileage, gauge cluster are all valid. But this thing will run, on and off road. It's also a good size without needing two spots to get it parked. The second row is adjustable if you need to put adults in the third row, and it is super comfortable. You can use voice command and actually need very few of the switches and buttons to utilize most features, but they are there if you prefer. And it still has a CD player. And remote start from the key fob. And you can program the key fob to add a feature to open all windows and the sun roof at the same time. I'm going to run this one for a while and see how it goes. Adding ML after the fact would be theoretically cheaper but I don't think it's plug and play...you would likely need a new body harness, radio, amplifier, speakers, LH cargo area trim panel. @@Ill06Taco from what I heard you can get a couple midgrade aftermarket speakers to replace stock and its superior to the ML. That said, is the ML good enough for your average buyer looking for a half decent sound system? Absolutely. @@leroy5202 Well at least the LX gets a modern engine and interior. This thing has less power than most V6s now. It's well built and feels like quality, but it's like 15 years out of date.
This is so slick, but I'm still in absolute shock that they didn't change the back hatch to lift up. They like being unique but that's the one area where they're unique in a bad way. It just makes no sense to have a back hatch that opens like an old school station wagon. It's not a deal breaker but I'm definitely shocked.
This car is very luxurious. As a luxury car the gear shift I will prefer it if it was wireless gear shift instead of an old traditional one. This car here in South Africa will cost more than 1.5 million due to our week currency 🙆♂️🙆♂️🙆♂️
I swapped all the turn signals , backup lights, running board lights and interior lights for leds. I also ordered the parts for folding the mirrors on lock and unlock. Now my 2022 is complete. I couldn’t take the incandescent turn signals. Just so ugly on such a nice truck.
We just purchased 2022 Luxury Sport edition. I was wondering if you had the power fold mirrors on lock or unlock installed by the Lexus dealership before receiving your car and also how much was it for the parts. Thanks
Did you have to use a ballast resistor/equalizer for the turn signals? I did the same thing on my Mazda 3 and the turn signals would flash rapidly until I connected the resistors.
The one thing that always pisses me off with Lexus. They make the exterior look so luxurious but then the interior always looks outdated. It was almost like they ran out of money after the exterior
Would have bought this exact model BUT Lexus in their infinite ignorance would NOT allow you to get the Mark Levinson system which is one of if not the best stereo available. I bought a premium plus sport optioned like a luxury 19” wheels, captains chairs , auto everything
Was that a CD player? Why not make a cassette slot for it while they’re at it. Rear tail lights and real interior redesign are urgently needed in this SUV. Hate the fact that Toyota doesn’t import the Land Cruiser Prado for the U.S. market.
I love that car, especially during winter NY and PA weather , i personally helped Mercedes GLS 450 and Range Rover authobiography during a bad show storm in NY, they couldn't come out from the snow, GX did it, this is 4 car GX I have I love them all. but CD in this car is for what? who uses CDs.
I still believe this vehicle is outdated. Needs to improve overall in the look of the exterior and interior. I do like the ruggedness and how good the interior is put together.
Digital clock is disappointing. And to make it worse why dedicate so much space just for a tiny digital clock. That's stupid for something that has a redesigned interior.
Did he say the third row is not too bad to spend time on because of a cup holder and an air vent?? This SUV is so outdated and it’s a shame Lexus has milked this model for so many years.

Am I the only one who thinks the spare tyre being at the back looks better on the vehicle? 🤔
I can't wait to see what they do with this, but considering they just sprinkled some changes on it, they'll let this generation run another 50 years.
IF it is like what they did to the new lx, nothing lol.
@@leroy5202 Well at least the LX gets a modern engine and interior. This thing has less power than most V6s now. It's well built and feels like quality, but it's like 15 years out of date.
@@MercOne Still more power than most V6s
@@alh06 Are you crazy? No it’s not in the luxury segment.
They’re going to get rid of it, that’s what they’ll do.
How can a vehicle have a third row if it can't even fit a suitcase
This is so slick, but I'm still in absolute shock that they didn't change the back hatch to lift up. They like being unique but that's the one area where they're unique in a bad way. It just makes no sense to have a back hatch that opens like an old school station wagon. It's not a deal breaker but I'm definitely shocked.
Can You Make 2022 Acura MDX
They already did
biggest let down is the tail-gate to be honest.... the door swing style is so dinosaur old now... can't wait for a 2023 model to come out soon!
I agree, plus it opens the wrong way so you have to walk around it when parked on a curb. At least the rear glass part opens separately.
the g wagon has been doing that type of tailgate for decades
@@desimoruyesok9135 no sh*t! But still for everyday use! I’d rather have an automated lift gate
This car is very luxurious. As a luxury car the gear shift I will prefer it if it was wireless gear shift instead of an old traditional one. This car here in South Africa will cost more than 1.5 million due to our week currency 🙆♂️🙆♂️🙆♂️
Great video!
Thank you!
Thanks
And labor
Did you have to use a ballast resistor/equalizer for the turn signals? I did the same thing on my Mazda 3 and the turn signals would flash rapidly until I connected the resistors.
like a big brother of the 2005 Fortuner !
Dinosaur .....this truck needs to be updated. I think it's brand loyalty that keep these people buying the same truck over and over again.
That's not a truck
@@leonardodavinci6625 Body on frame .......It's a truck. This is more of a truck than the Honda Ridgeline.
The one thing that always pisses me off with Lexus. They make the exterior look so luxurious but then the interior always looks outdated. It was almost like they ran out of money after the exterior
Did you notice buzziness and droning when revs are right at 1800 to 2000 rpm through the steering and driver floorpan?
How much each time to fill up the tank.
Those tail lights still look outdated. The incandescent front turn signal too.
Only 18 inch rims wth. Also need to update that rear end!! On the other hand, the front end and new center console layout aren't bad.
it's an offroad focused vehicle, why would u want anything more than 18 inches on it?
for the costco runs and picking up the kids, 22's are a must.
Is there a typo for the model here? Did you mean to put in 2002?
Lol. The Lexus GX did not exist in 2002.
Damilola Akanni it’s a joke about how dated it looks
Wow, they actually made the interior look cheap. Now I don't feel bad about buying a used one.
It looks at least a decade old, reminds me of the Range Rovers from 2005-2015 or so.
What is this the toyota land cruiser prado speck?
Would have bought this exact model BUT Lexus in their infinite ignorance would NOT allow you to get the Mark Levinson system which is one of if not the best stereo available.
I bought a premium plus sport optioned like a luxury 19” wheels, captains chairs , auto everything
Reliable car but still looks dated. This is a complete remodel?
Was that a CD player? Why not make a cassette slot for it while they’re at it. Rear tail lights and real interior redesign are urgently needed in this SUV. Hate the fact that Toyota doesn’t import the Land Cruiser Prado for the U.S. market.
Anybody noticed that the review guy morphed….
Bench vs captain chairs?
I want one we have it in the Philippines but they cost aroud 120k USD. Tax here is crazy.
So this is the luxury version of 4Runner?
What intro song was that my bass hit hard with it.
this interior is good, is good for year 2000
I still believe this vehicle is outdated. Needs to improve overall in the look of the exterior and interior. I do like the ruggedness and how good the interior is put together.
Do not fix what's not broken is their belief... only a few can afford this and you won't need to think about buying a new vehicle again
At this point I’d rather get the new LX tbh
It’ll be twice the price too lol
Yeah, we just bought a 2022 GX and I was curious on the price of the LX. The sales rep said starting somewhere around 120k
coooool
This is so depressing. After 10 years it's still exactly the same as my 2012 GX.

One good thing about shifting to all electric-no more spindle grills -how long have they had them now anybody know?
Since like 2011. Spindle grill looks awesome in my opinion
@@kr6248 it came on in 2013.
They'll still find a reason to keep them. See the NX300e.
@@damilolaakanni It was introduced in 2011 with CT
Digital clock is disappointing. And to make it worse why dedicate so much space just for a tiny digital clock. That's stupid for something that has a redesigned interior.
Their navigation system is dated af. And who puts in a CD player ? Do they even make cds anymore?
They still do... you will find them in retail lol
@@alvinsimba734 what’s retail?
Lol Amazon wrecked it

So Lexus stopped checking out their competitions…..for a while then
Did he say the third row is not too bad to spend time on because of a cup holder and an air vent?? This SUV is so outdated and it’s a shame Lexus has milked this model for so many years.
What! they don't even give you an LED turn signal?
wow! lexus doesn't give a shit about keeping up with the technology at all!
why would they change something that ppl buy and doesnt break? look at apple they barely change anything yet ppl buy they phones like crazy
Still has parts from the 90’s
As a lexus fanboy and owner, the GX updates has been disappointing.....
Please review the Corolla Cross
Coming very soon!
