I’ve been in the wholesale car business for many years. Driven just about everything out there. There are many great alternatives to the GX. Especially if you like to trade every few years. Turbo engines have made great advancements for consumers who appreciate respectable fuel economy and better acceleration. Keep in mind the majority of these units will have more expensive maintenance costs over 70-80k miles. But the GX has a build quality that is hard to replicate from most manufacturers. The drive, the interior feel, the way the doors close, the factory paint finish, the quality of the interior components etc are things most companies can’t replicate. Like others have said resale value is great with these. Some of the best resale figures in the market consistently. Unlike several models that I’ve seen mentioned in the comments. At the end of the day the beauty of the car market is all of the available options that we have. This current GX may not be what everyone is looking for. Well, after looking at the RX350, Tahoe etc, it’s the GX460 for me. Taking delivery tomorrow. Trading our 2020 Nissan Murano Platinum AWD. The RX was disappointing . While the tech was newer, it felt..small….4 cylinder was whiny; felt every bump, as it seems they went more sporty. And I’m 6’4, 300. The Murano was much bigger inside than all of them, honestly. Been a great vehicle. The value ratio of the GX, and longevity, sold me. And that V8, even being somewhat underpowered and inefficient (yet long lasting). I actually like the way the rear door opens..and I’ll likely use the pop-open glass hatch way more..easy peasy, lemon squeasy. I had also considered the Audi G7 (can’t find), New Mazda (can’t stand the rear end and it’s brand new), the Honda Passport, and other luxury SUVs. Just bought my wife the ‘24 Acura MDX w/Tech AWD, 3 weeks ago, because at almost 60 yrs old, what it has, is good enough, for both of us. Same with the Lexus GX Premium, and in both cases, great value, get longer warranties and some maintenance thrown in. And I can do follow up oil changes at a Honda dealership, and the GX at a Toyota store, unless a warranty-related concern pops up. Your reviews helped, as well as actual test drives by me. Appreciate every single review, even if I’m not in the market. Kudos, and thanks.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!! This design has lasted how long? And sold how many? It sells it self👌
You are so very right! It is built proof!
I purchased 2 of these before Lexus screws it up. Absolutely the best vehicle I’ve ever driven. Dated yes but smooth and solid, which I’ll take any day over the total garbage car companies are making today.
Hey Joe I do think this GX is desperate need of a redesign. Similarly to what they did with the RX. They did a bang up job with that model. By the way Joe, we are coming up towards the end of the month, amd you know what that means? Live Q and A time!
@@ericB3444 DR Suess.. BOOP
The RX is horribly ugly and using a 4 cylinder engine. I’ll take the GX everyday, all day.
@@ericB3444 only if it could hit a Panda without a dent. You’d need a GX for that…
@@ericB3444 silly comments will only prompt silly responses. Trade in your training wheels for a GX. Shoot for the Luxury model. Remember to keep on your bib to catch the drool.
@@ericB3444 once you learn how to speak English properly I’ll take you up on your suggestion. So sad. You are the only one liking your own comments. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Guaranteed 300,000 mile buggy. This thing will dance religiously for 20+ years.
It's a baby gargantua! That console is a bit clunky but you know that truck ain't going to break. Friday morning entertainment delivered, thanks guys!
2:05 - Well, it looks like a 2023 Lexus GX and my 2010 car have something in common!
I believe Lexus is coming out with GX550. GX460 will be done. Plenty used one will be available. This car is a tank and a pleasure to ride. I rode one with 254000 on the clock, rode like new. Lexus need to bring this same concept, BUT with inline 6 and 8 speed tranny with paddle shifter, if needed, using regular gas or hybrid. I will be inline to order one. I have to say, for around 63K new, regular model, good price for such a reliable truck. Lexus is killing the Germans, day after day.....period.
Love the color Joe!!! It pops!!! Hope you are having a blessed day 🙏
Have the 2019 premium. Most beautiful car ever. The sound system is awesome.
I brought one today! I ❤ it!
Yes it is. I just bought one and thinking of buying two. Love them V8s
That's one pathetic Dinosaur V8 300 HP ,, LOL , LOL,, Yeah I love my V8 it drives slower then most V6's but she's a tiny bit louder. 0 to 60 in 8 seconds Grandma
Oh I bet!
330 torque
I hands down will pick Lexus over any luxury brand. I’ve owned BMW X5 and they have let me down and cost me money to get things Fixed/Replaced. I should’ve gotten a Lexus before I got my BMW few years back
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one Austin.
I have one on the way! I am beyond excited and my son who has the 2005 GX 470 is super jelly 😊
Hi Raiti: you have some of the best car reviews, even if suggesting to put the kids on the roof may not work for everyone...just joking. Your reviews are infectious...I ended up buying a GX460 2023 model. I really enjoy it. It actually drives better than my Audi...Thanks for the review.
Hey, Joe good review on the Lexus suv, I would like to see one in all black from front to rear, that would be nice, have you ever did a review on the Is 500 with a v8 engine.
He did. Multiple times too. Look it up.
THE RIDE OF ALL RIDES JOE!🔥💜🖤🕊️
I still love this SUV. I'd like to see the steering wheel full leather and the front grill to be just a little smaller. I don't care for too many bells and whistles so I would love it. To me, it is like the 4-Runner...I don't want to see them mess it up with a redesign. Too afraid they would make it look like everything else on the road...shorter and rounded off...which kills the look of an SUV.
This is so very true!
Not why everything thinks this is 4runner platform. It's not. It's a Land Cruiser Prado platform and has full-time 4x4 with a locking center diff. It's frankly better than the 4unner in every way.
This car is such a beauty. If it was a hybrid or plug in, I’ll be all over it.
I am sure you are not the only one feeling that way.
Wow, I was leaning for an MDX but I really like this one. A V8? That is awesome!
MDX has better driving performance but i prefer the GX because it is pretty solid, confortable, body on frame and full time 4wd. A beast in the snow.
🇺🇸 *Beautiful Lexus GX 460* !! *LOVE this luxury SUV* !! *301 HP would be a FAB change for me* !! *Rumor has it the GX line can last over 300,000 miles* !! *GREAT video Joe and Steven* !! #RaitisRides 🇺🇸
300k absolutely !
more than that even
300k easily in it’s sleep.
10:51 "you got enough room in here for a bucket of kfc.. make it 12 pc, couple biscuits and some gravy" 😂
Big v8, body on frame, a CD player, and comfy!
This as a two row SUV is perfect! Just needs smaller wheels with some BF Goodrich all terrains and it's perfect!
yeah, its like I'm back in high school and heading to see American Pie at the multiplex...
I love it Joe and Lori and keep up the good work and I love the video 👍 💯💯💯
We can't do it without you!
Owner of one. Cannot love it enough
Couldn't have described it better. A Toyota with a Tuxedo. I love Lexus.
GREAT REVIEW ALWAYS! I must say tho that GTC4LUSSO in the background is FIRE & hopefully you're able to go ON THROTTLE with that Ferrari...
Oh just wait!
If you’re calling this a 4-runner, and it is a Landcruiser Prado, does that mean 4-runners and Prados r the same? I’m so confused
It’s based on the FJ150, aka Land Cruiser Prado popular in Asia.
Proud owner of a 2017 GX460. Owned a GX470 (2008) and loved it too (should have kept it). These things are bulletproof and Lexus service pampers my wife with a loaner or transport when she goes for maintenance!
You are so very right!
Sorry NOT a TRD pro. GX 460 is based on the Land Cruiser Prado. LC has a 25 year service life. Yes, it will outlast 90% of other vehicles.
😆😆I love Raiti! The 10.1" double-entendre, the KFC bucket-hilarious! Keep'em coming!
How many people here already own a GX and still look at GX videos?! I do!😂
I own a 2020 GX460 and 2014 Es350. The GX460 is my favorite one.
I would give kudos on naturally aspirated V8
Dealer manager: Did he just shove a piece of giant leaf into the grill?
I really wish they would re-design the exterior but this is such a great car
My everyday Lexus SUV!! Brilliant job Joe.
A new old car …a little outdated, but I do love Lexus …..great review
Thanks Bob!
I would like to buy this one even used because this Lexus is durable.
This is very true Dan!
Sold 08 GX470 for a tesla.... a big mistake. Few days ago got 2017 white gx460 premium sports edition. Love it!!
😍😍🥰🥰😘😘❤❤ Lexus GX460 luxury is where it's at❣High quality 👌🏼
Since the 4 Runner and GX460 share the same platform, why couldn't the 4 Runner couldn't have the 301 HP 4.6L I-Force V8 as well?
That would be wonderful if it di.
@@RaitisRides I agree 100% brother, my dad is looking for a new SUV that'll last for a very long time and we're deciding between the Toyota 4 Runner, Lexus GX460, Acura MDX, or the Kia Telluride. I mean I love the way the 4 Runner looks but the GX460 has more muscle 💪 though.
There were the V8 4 runner right ? I wonder why Toyota discontinued,
@DubSiren Exactly mate, I can't believe Toyota would discontinued the V8 4 Runner.
Lexus has some sharp vehicles across the lineup but this one is in need of a redesign or a refresh at the least. But I like the brand and thank you Steven for all of your hard work behind the lens!
It looks like a locomotive crossbred with a brick. Toyota's styling dept. is losing to Hyundai.
@@GoHighOctane500LC hopefully the next Gen redesign coming late this year will fix it
@@GoHighOctane500LC baaahahahaha. Ok bro. This Lexus will be a family heirloom for generations while that Hyundai you speak of lasts 90,000 miles and either blows a motor or rusts out six years from now
Hyundais are horribly ugly and haven’t earned their stripes to be mentioned in thee same sentence.
@@alexdwyer7677 That's what we used to say about Japanese cars 50 years ago too. Koreans are learning faster than that.
i love this dude reviews, he is cracking me up lol...
I am so glad that I can share the laughs and the cars with you Alex!
I love it it’s bullet proof too
DEIM! Solid Rai Rai, Solid.
It’s a Prado in a Tuxedo with a V8 and higher quality materials. Also quieter. It shares some of the 4Runner’s platform but superior in every way. This is what the 4Runner should have been but I guess they tried to keep the 4Runner cheaper.
Yes indeed. I was going to buy 2003 at the 2002 NYC AutoShow. When I was working for the security company there at the time.
Great vehicle 👌
5:02 is the best moment for this video
Everyone saying that this vehicle is outdated, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah! The Japanese have a saying, why fix it if it ain't broken and let me tell you that this vehicle, with proper and basic maintenance will still be on the road getting you to point A to point B with ease!!!
For those of us who watch and subscribe to your channel, you should still display the third row seats even if you're disinterested in them. Thanks for the video.
Read door hinge should be on drivers side.
